In the Leera book, it was stated that most andalites only aqcuire a few morphs, so its entirely possible that they wouldn't know of a limit.  A similar question though is why Rachel didn't switch to polar bear, similarly built to hear bear morph but not nearly blind.

i wondered why she didn't switch to polar bear too. Especially since her grizzly morph pretty much got beat by a polar bear lol.

I always wondered why none of them got a lion morph for their battle morph (well, in the books at least lol). When David got one and it was stated how it was hard to get at his neck cause of the mane, it made me wonder more why none of them decided to get a lion morph

and i know it's been stated before in threads..but i always wanted Cassie to get a better battle morph than wolf. i know wolves have great endurance but their real strength comes from pack attacks.

Most of their strength came from experience.  If they suddenly switched battle morphs, they would lose out on some of that.

With polar bears, you also have to consider that they're adapted for an arctic climate.  Grizzlies are a lot more comfortable in Southern California.  In The Weakness the Anis all go into a fight as polar bears and if I remember right they end up overheated pretty quickly.

So they could have gotten experience. Think about it, we never saw them practicing their morphs, except maybe Cassie in a couple books. If experience was their best advantage, they didn't really do much with it.

And even with the limit thing, they stopped worrying about very quickly. I don't even remember it being brought up again after the first book. Just saying.

Well I think the Anis had bad memories of the lion morph.

I think KA once said that Cassie remained a wolf because she wanted to mimimize the damage from her attacks.

I think that they should have made a better decision regarding the auxilary Animorphs. They should have recruited them sooner (thus removing the need for SO MANY FILLER BOOKS). I understand that they were wary after David, but not every kid is a sociopath. I also think that they should have worked harder to integrate the Auxilaries into the Animorphs.

Additionally, I think that they should have disregarded that rule about not morphing sentient beings without permission sooner. It would have allowed for a lot more recon work, and it isn't as though the Ani's were going to use some guys body to go steal money from the bank or anything. As much as I wouldn't like some 'other me' running around, I think in the long run I would understand that it was for the good of humanity.

Can you imagine what may have happened if Jake acquired Tom? Or if someone acquired Chapman early on?

I too wondered why he never got an owl morph. that should have been one of the first things he did after getting his powers back. He's just not much of a morpher, though.

Off the top of my head, they should have tried to save tom in 31. Starve the yeerk out and have Tom fake a suicide. the Yeerks would understand why the guy commited suicide and wouldn't have been suspicious. Then Tom lives in Cassie's barn-I mean Erik's house. A little David humor there.

They should have had the Chee cover for them during missions starting sooner. They met the Chee in book 10, but didn't use them as cover until 25.

Pay closer attention to David. Don't stick him in the barn and then be all surprised when he uses his powers to sneak into a hotel room. I'd be doing the same thing if I was him. I realize the second plot that's always in books happens to be the most important mission ever, but you can't just stick david in a corner while you deal with the other missions.

I am quite amazed that the Animorphs didn't think to simply park David with the free Hork-Bajir while they dealt with the conference!  Its the obvious thing to do!

He probably wouldn't have been any happier about that either. I would have brought him to Eric, and told him that as long as he didn't ask questions, or wander around, he'd get a nice bed and some TV. Much better than a loud, smelly barn.

This is sort of like the existing threads about what you would have done if you were in the Animorphs' position, except you just think of things they should have done, whether it be things they should have done sooner than they did, or obviously beneficial opportunities they failed to see. A well known example is getting a flock-type bird such as ducks far earlier, so they could travel closely unnoticed.

A wallbanger of mine has always been why Tobias had never acquired an owl. He's the best flier of them all for obvious reasons, yet constantly complains about being useless at night, when he could at any time take on a similar body that sees clearly in the dark.

Another wallbanger: Given that Erek in Book 10 demonstrated an ability to keep a Yeerk alive away from the Yeerk Pool (using a Kandrona generator that was inside his body), why weren't the Chee ever asked to help keep dissident Yeerks alive, such as Aftran?
