Rachel In The Familiar
« on: July 08, 2015, 12:59:48 PM »
P 103 of paperback: Jake has somehow traveled to 10 years in the future, to a world ruled by the Yeerks.  On page 103, he encounters a badly damaged Rachel in a wheel chair.  Her face and body are badly disfigured.  She is missing both legs and an arm.  A horrifying scar closes one eye.  Why doesn't she morph and demorph to repair those injuries?  (Jake wonders the same thing!).

That book was built on metaphors and dream logic. Jake fears that Rachel will destroy herself, and here we see a destroyed Rachel.

PP 137-139: As Jake fights to stop the Kandrona Moon ray from being fired from the top of the Chrysler Building, Marco (now the host of Visser Two) has Cassie thrown out a window to fall 60 stories.  But she manages to grab the ledge!  But Jake doesn't expect her to hang on for very long.  When Cassie is thrown out the window, why doesn't she just morph into a bird?  When Jake sees her hanging on to the ledge, why doesn't he tell her to morph into a bird or a flying insect?  That way, Cassie would be safe, and Jake could focus on the Moon ray.

Use spoiler tags please.
And as I said, that book was meant to look at Jake's thoughts on the other characters. Logic didn't apply to that book.

Not trying to be a douche or anything here, but I kinda noticed you put a bunch of questions in different threads. Does anyone think that we should merge these discussions into a single thread (i.e. "Burning Animorphs Questions" so there aren't a ton of different threads to sift through?
