People that say there isn't a big enough fanbase for Animorphs forget the fact that in the future there may be a diehard fan that wants to make the movie as much as we do. You don't need a big fanbase, all you need is one fan committed to doing it. At this point the movie would be a resurrection of the series, most of the moviegoes would be newcomers anyway.

But anyway, its good to comment on people's ideas but don't turn this into another "it's never gonna happen, so stop dreaming!" threads. This is all for fun.

I would go animated (japanese anime style would be very fun), change the timeline from the 90's to current day and for the most part remain faithful to the character and their stories, although the plot would have to be streamlined and tweaked in ways.

I would, believe it or not, try to make it live action. I just don't think it'd work as a cartoon. I mean, 2d morphing? Noooo waaay. People have done way more unrealistic things than this in live action.

The yeerks would be computer generated. The morphing would be computer generated, the andalites and other aliens, too. But the rest, definitly real. Has to be.

That's kind of the issue tho. With animation there is little limit to what you can showcase. You can show a tiger jump at a hork-bajir and slash his chest wide open, and have it look as close to what a real tiger would look like. How long would it take to train a real tiger to do that to a green suit dummy? You can have the tiger behave in humanistic ways  that no trained tiger can achieve with any amount of time. You can have birds doing crazy stunts that just won't look as good with real trained birds. In the end, you would end up having to use a lot of CGI with the animals.

I still think they should make an animated TV series (KA Applegate, herself, suggested this), and just make 4 movies from the Megamorphs series. The Chronicles (Hork-Bajir, Andalite, Ellimist) and Visser, could all be TV movies.
