Title: The Gambler
Post by: Shenmue654 on April 14, 2013, 01:08:46 AM
((Author's Note: Another note of poetry. It's written the way it is because they say you shouldn't trust the Devil if you meet her at a crossroads. Strange how I never, ever seem to follow that rule. ))

I know it’s a gamble, a fool’s game
The only game I have ever played
But I would give up everything
For a taste of those lips
For another moment of your smile
For another night of endless laughter

There might be some night, some night far away
Where you decide I’m not worth it anymore
Or I made a mistake I can’t take back
A roll I can’t undo
Poker at last fails me and the devil cries
But I don’t care

I don’t care, I don’t care
I’ve waited an eternity for Eternity
For these long nights of glory under an alien sun
For, despite the darkness of the sky
There are glittering lakes within my Heart
Your grand designs sing me to sleep

I would gamble away my life for one more night.

Wow, what a lovely piece of poetry. I've never been well and truly in love before, but the poem gave me a feel of what it's like. :)
