Title: Shouldn't it say "RAF: Richard's Animorphs Forum"?
Post by: Essam 293 on September 01, 2008, 06:45:53 PM
This is a silly question, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Right up at the top, above where your screen name shows up. It says "RAF: The Animorphs Forum". This doesn't make sense to me because I always read it as "Richard's Animorphs Forum: The Animorphs Forum". LOL, I might be the only one who does this :P

To me, it'd make more sense to just spell out the acronym RAF up there, so that everyone knows what it stands for: "RAF: Richard's Animorphs Forum".

I dunno, what do you all think?

So technically RAF doesn't mean anything...

But, ok, I'd like to hear what others think...

I'm fine with it either way, but I'm pretty sure we all know what RAF stands for... Royal Air Force! Hail Britain!  ;)

The answer's yes. It should say Richard's Animorphs Forum.

Otherwise it's TAF, and no one wants that.

i like that its THE Animorphs Forum lol and everybody here knows what RAF stands for

I've always seen the title as RAF: The Animorphs Forum, obviously RAF for short, so changing it to RAF: Richards Animorphs Forum wouldnt just be clearing up the acronym, it would be changing the name, and i say nay!

I don't care whether you change it or not, but I do prefer what it says now, to changing it.

Haha!

I like having the acronym spelt, but it IS a good marker/shibolleth, when someone asks what the 'r' stands for. ::)

I pronounce it "RAFF", a single syllable, so it isn't a bother for me, either way.

isn't saying RAF the animorphs forum just saying "Richard's animorphs forum the animorphs forum"?
its like when people say PIN number (personal identification number number) or ATM machine (Automated Teller Machine machine)

hmm.... oh well

It isn't saying that Shanker because technically RAF doesn't stand for anything anymore. The name of this place has been changed to just RAF.  Think about it like KFC.

They changed their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken to just KFC, which is bull****.

because technically its not chicken so it'd be false advertising

lol guys.. KFC has always been just KFC here.

Anyways, I changed my vote, because I've gotten used to the way it is now, and I realised that I like it as is.
