I walked into the zoo, he passed security and the other staff, and into the back door of the main building. Mycousin Chris had let me know that there were certain people asking about people who like to be around animals more than normal, questioned him about people who were in the zoo when they shouldnt be or employees in areas they shouldnt be.I had asked him to do this, I had to lie to Chris about why, I couldnt tell him it was about an alien war to save humanity. I had said it was about a case I was working at the time. My cousin quickly told me about the people asking him the questions. I thanked him and walked outside and called my people and let them know what was going on and set up a plan to meet back at my place, and headed there myself.

I sat in the car in Connor's driveway, waiting for him to show. It was bad luck he should call when he did. I was just about to take Snopian out to a new club that was opening. He was sitting in my car with me, just having gotten morphed and dressed to go. I plugged in my iPod and started up a song to kill the time. I began singing along just to poke fun at Snopian, "Snoop doggie do-ooo-wowwowwog. Snoop doggie do-ooo-wowwowwog."
Snopian looked at my face as I smugly sang at him, "You realize my name is pronounced 'Snope' and not 'Snoop'? I don't understand why you continue to make this reference when mentioning my name."
I sighed and said with a laugh, "Good grief. It's a joke Snoopy; and to be honest, the reason it's funny, is because you react so well to it."
Snopian furrowed his brow in thought and said, "I believe I have a handle on Human humor; and I don't find your 'joke' to fall within those parameters."
I rolled my head around my shoulders and said, "It's not funny... to you because the joke's about you. Well, about your name anyway. Funny is the word there. You don't find my joke to be funny. It's okay. That's the beautiful thing about humor. Different things can be funny to different people. Like not too many people find dead baby jokes to be humorous, some do. Personally, I think they're hilarious. I understand they're ****ed up, but I can't deny they're funny."
Snopian nodded, he's gotten really good at gesticulation since we've met him. He replied, "I see, that's why there are so many different comedians; different ones cover different topics."
I pointed at him, "Exactly. Too bad we couldn't go to the club; I wanted to try out my new combo."
Snopian tilted his head, "You mean your new DNA compilation?"
I nodded, "Yep. I was gonna try to go female again and see if I can isolate the 'Hot' look. The last time didn't work out so well."
Snopian chuckled, "That's because last time you forgot to envision yourself with a nose." He really began to laugh after that, "The male you approached was actually scared of you." He tried to elaborate, but couldn't because he was laughing so hard.
I rolled my eyes, "Hey, this coming from a guy that naturally doesn't have a nose. I admit it, I should look in the mirror first next time. I was just more concerned about my other parts being right. I didn't really think much about the nose. I just need to concentrate harder next time."

I walked by Seans car on my way up the drive and tapped on his window and motioned for them to follow me in. After I had let the three of us in, I went into the kitchen and pulled a few beers from the fridge and sat at my counter and told them what my cousin had told me. "So I want us to run a survelliance mission at the zoo if we can. Problem is it will mean either letting some of the animals out and hoping we didnt get caught doign that or taking their place or doing what we hate doing most and getting another human morph."
I took another sip of my beer and said "I know we agreed that we would try to avoid morphing species that had a say in the matter but when something like this presents it self we need to make an acception. We have a decent idea on how the Yeerks run things through the sharing and their military, at least the higher ups thanks to our own resident Snoopy here, but I think we should get a better idea on how they run their day to day operations and how they plan to stop us and if they know if most of us are human." I looked around and said "Ideas?"

I nodded to Connor as he waved us in. I turned the car off and followed him with Snopian behind me. Snopian was already taking off his jacket as he entered the house. He undressed in the living room so that all he had left was his morphing outfit on: a pair of tight bicycle shorts and a muscle shirt. He folded his outfit and began to demorph as he made his way to the kitchen. I looked back as I began to hear hoof sounds. I asked, "Those shorts working out for you? I can't afford to keep buying you new morphing outfits."
Snopian tilted his head, <You do not pay for any of my clothing. Especially since I hacked all of your accounts.>
I grabbed a beer from Connor and held it up to Snopian, "And thank you for that. The comment earlier was just a joke, sarcasm, to be exact."
Snopian replied, <I see. I will make a note of that tone then. You are welcome once more, of course.>
After Connor explained the situation and asked for questions, I raised my hand and asked, "Yeah," I put down all but two fingers, "Two questions: When the hell did we decide to not morph Humans? I love morphing other people." I nod toward Snopian, "Snoopy here does it all the time, no reason we can't. We're not enslaving someone else's body, just copying their DNA patterns. I don't feel oppressed every time Snoop dogg here morphs into his weird version of me/you/and everyone else he acquired." I then put down my second finger, leaving one up and continued, "Secondly, How 'bout waiting for the whole team before starting your team meeting? Kick back a moment, shoot the ****. How ya been man?"
Snopian asked, <I have a question, when will you stop calling me variations of "Snoopy"?>
I shot back immediately, "Never."

I flew down towards Connor's house, enjoying the thermals and landing on a branch inside his backyard. <Sorry about that, my junk of a car wouldn't start.> I told my friends. I looked around with my raptor vision to see if anyone was watching and swooped towards the ground while focusing on my normal human self. When the transformation was complete I opened the back door to Conner's house. "You should keep that door locked." I noted to Connor as I walked into the kitchen and took a look at my friends. "What's up Red Baron?" I told Snopian, after hearing his conversation with Sean from outside. I went to the pantry and took out a water bottle. "So why are we here?" I asked Connor

Snopian looked quizzically at Drew, <Red Baron?>
I looked quizzically at Drew, "Warm water?"

"Yeah, it feels good on my tongue." I said winking at Sean. "You're too young to understand that joke Snopian." I replied jokingly. I sat down on the counter.

I raised an eyebrow, "Okay, I'm not sure if you're making a gay joke, or coming on to me. Either way, I certainly like it." I laughed and took a drink from my beer.
Snopian nodded, <More humor, pleasing.>
I let my head fall backward, "'Funny' Snopian. The word is 'Funny'." I gestured to Connor and said, "Okay, now that we've all assembled, begin the presentation."

I quickly recapped the story for Drew, including my doubts about morphing humans, then said joking "I think that once I actuallay want to protect my house and things in it, I will, till then its ok. For real though its mainly used as a quasi dog door for Snopian." I finished my beer and grabbed another before turning to Sean, "I will give you that we are not snatching their bodies and wills, but its still one of those things that doesnt feel right. There is another way, but it involves risking some heat from the bosses at the agencey. We could just go undercover as employees."
I changed subject while they thought about it 'Im good though Sean, been hitting the gym, thinking of getting more ink done to see if it stays like the rest, would suck if it didnt though I like the fact that it does so far. Snoop have you come any closer to figuering out why that is?"

"Well it isn't necessarily a bad thing if it is combined DNA, which basically makes it a whole new person. I don't know if it feels wrong, but I am not that much of a person with morals. When you say undercover do you mean in human morph?" I actually enjoyed doing that, it made me feel like I was using the morphing ability to it's full potential. "I don't really mind getting in some heat with our bosses, not like I am never in enough."

I commented, "Hey, if you want to jeopardize your jobs, that's cool. I don't have to worry about that at all. Writing user manuals pays my bills plenty. Especially now that I don't have to worry about having to pay my bills. Now doing the work just gives me extra play money. With Snopian helping me, the wording sounds so much more official. They liked my new stuff so much, they gave me a raise. Thanks again Snoopy."
Snopian looked at me with a single stalk eye and said, <You're welcome.> He then answered Connor, <The ink inside your epidermis is not unlike the clothing on the outside of your epidermis; since it is not an actual wound, there's nothing to heal. While yes, stabbing your skin is required to dye it a certain color; the actual wound produced has long since healed. Also, we morph clothing because we envision them when we morph. The same applies with your markings. Your "tattoos" are a part of you, and therefore a part of your mental image of yourself. De-morphing is still, in effect, morphing; so when you morph yourself, you see yourself with those tattoos. It's not that complicated.>
I snickered, "Doesn't feel right for you. I love morphing Humans, it's quick and easy. The only real change in most cases is a height adjustment. When we morph animals or bugs, there's the whole rearranging of body parts and it takes forever.
"No, going in as Humans would be a mistake. It'd be too easy for the Yeerks to take us. We need to choose something with an option of a quick getaway. Something with wings, or something that doesn't mind going into a sewer. We could morph snakes and flush ourselves." I think for a second, "On second thought, my snake is too thick for some plumbing pipes."

"Your snake is too thick?" I asked Sean raising my eyebrow. "I promise that is going to be my last gay joke today." I shuddered at the thought of going down a sewer. "Sounds fun. If we really have to I guess we will." I said sarcastically. "As long as we get a mission done today I would be happy, I was hoping to do a more fun mission today." I looked at Snopian, who would let a centaur with a tailblade into their house? "Have you acquired anything new?" I asked trying to strike a conversation with the Alien.

Snopian looked to Drew and replied, <Other than a new outfit from Sean, no. I don't feel compelled to acquire more than what is necessary. I've never needed more than two morphs until coming to this planet. The immense expanse of species is quite impressive. Not only that, but the difference in climate and the species' abilities to adapt are impressive as well. Your Arctic Wolf was very beneficial in that region when we destroyed the satellite.> He swished his tail lazily as he noticed Drew eyeing it.
I chuckled, "Hey, I was being literal. You know how narrow some of those pipes are. I'd get stuck. Either way, Connor, now that your cousin's been contacted by potential Yeerks, we're gonna have to put a detail on him too. Make sure they haven't taken him, ya know?"

I followed there conversation and said "we would have to act like there is a case there and go in there as us but employees. Now that I think about it you all are right humans is not the best idea. We will have to go in, in morph. Question is, which morph and how to do it. Snakes would be best but like Drew said I wont fit down the pipes. We could find an open sewer and go in from there though. "

"There is a Korean Restaurant about 10 miles down the street. They have live eel you can pet, but I don't think that is a good idea because Snoopy can't even acquire them." I shook my head. "You guys decide the plan, I got nothing."

"I think just getting into the sewers will be enough to let us go snake, just remember though no eating rats anyyone, they are sewer rats you might come up looking like Snoopy or worse Sean" I said winking at Drew. I then said "Alright who wants burgers or something before we do this, I doubt the person will be back today and my cousin already said he was coming over so we can watch him here."

I shook my head, "Either you gotta think of a really good reason to keep him here for three days; or we watch him at his home. I suggest going in as pigeons. It's commonplace enough that it's not weird to see them on the buildings and on the walkway areas. We'll be able to see and hear them well enough. Personally, I'd rather get there early and watch your cousin so we're sure he's still on our team. As for our escape route, pigeons work just as well for getting the hell outta dodge."

"Burgers? Around Snoop? I'll pass. As for watching him can't we just invite him over and drug him?" I joked. "In all seriousness we should find a way to knock him out, or go as pigeons. I think that pigeons will have us less likely to be sued."I said thinking rationally. "But my choice will be more fun." I didn't really care which way we would do it, as long as we get it done.

I raised an eyebrow at Drew, "'Sued'? Why would we be sued? We can't knock out his cousin. His cousin is the one the potential Yeerks are going to talk to. We need to watch him to make sure this isn't a trap for us. Make certain the guy doesn't get taken by whoever comes to talk to him; then afterward, tail him for three days to ensure he doesn't go underground for a dip in a lead pool."

"I get it. So basically we would stalk this guy for 3 days and make sure he isn't infested by an alien parasite." I sighed "I love my life." I looked towards Connor and asked. "Connor, can you make me a sandwich or something, the more we wait the more hungry I get." I didn't want to go through his house and make food myself, as that would seem rude.

I looked at Drew and said "you know where everything is, you can make it. As for my cousin, you two are right we will have to watch him for three days. I was thinking though if we plan on stopping people from taking him, at least one of us should go early and morph something with a little power." I then thought about it and said "Ill do it, no point in having one of you two get caught or something when I can do it. "

I laughed. "Correction, I am too lazy to get it." I went to his cupboard and took out the peanut butter and got a spoon. I put a spoonful of peanut butter in my mouth. "So when exactly will we, I am getting a bit bored here." I said.

I nodded and said "skip it, ill text my cousin and tell him that we cant chill, that will give us time to plan, and we leave in the morning. Ill take tonight to watch him. You two plan and let me know either via cell or through other means." I walked over to my room and shed my outer clothes, like the rest of the team I wore a morphing outfit under my clothes. I consentrated on the hawk I had aquired back when we first got our powers. With the remaining light this was the perfect morph, at least for now.

I saw a falcon fly out through the window. "Looks like he is gone, are you gonna give me a ride home?" I asked Sean. I checked the time. "Never mind. I guess I could hang out with you two for a while."

I was about to intercede with Connor's plan; but he had already left. I instead sighed deeply and expressed my doubts to Drew, "I don't know if Connor would be able to stay objective. You two are too impatient. It's amazing we've survived this long."
I shook my head and changed the subject, "Anyway, yeah I can give you a ride." I looked at Snopian and asked, "Sorry Snoopy, but no club tonight. Your scoop's not too far right?"
Snopian moved toward Connor's back door, <Yes. I will await your communication.> He opened the door and morphed into a deer. He left the house acting as though he was being chased out. He kept running until he entered the woods. I went to the door and closed it. Before closing the door, I noticed Connor's neighbor on his riding tractor/mower watching the rogue deer fleeing.
I made my way to the front door and waited for Andrew, "So you wanna help me catch a pigeon?"

"As if I don't have too." I went to Connor's pantry and put the peanut butter up and took out his bread. I held it up to show Sean. "Let's go. I used to do this all the time as a kid." I walked outside to Sean's car.

I asked, "What, take other people's bread; or catch pigeons?" I closed the front door and walked to my car. I threw Drew my keys and said with a nod, "Go ahead and unlock your door." I then walked to my side and awaited my keys' return.

I unlocked my door handed Sean his keys and sat in the passengers seat. " As a matter of fact, I did a little bit of both."

I unlocked my door and got inside my car. I waited for Drew to buckle in and drove off to a local park. There are often chess players and families that attract common pigeons. To fill the silence on the way, I asked, "So how do you juggle being a Fed and an Animorph?"

I laughed at Sean's question. "It is quite easy considering the fact that I don't even work, I am usually out. Being an Animorph is more fun and rewarding, so it is what I try harder at. I've known people in Airport Security long enough to know that I want to be a pilot. I am thinking about getting a career change, but I will have to wait until this war is over. Honestly I want them to fire me, but I can't quit because I need the money." Ever since I got in my job I hated it and now it is the worse. I am getting tired of it, I usually sneak out of work via morph. "Hows your job?" I asked Sean.

Sean answered, "Great. I get free **** before it's released. I don't have too strict of deadlines either. With Snoopy helping me, it's gotten a lot easier. You know, if you're only in the job for the cash, Snopian can hack your bank account too."
I found the park and parked right next to the basketball court off the side of the street. I turned off the engine and unclipped my seatbelt. I opened my door and sat in my seat feeling the breeze.

I unbuckled my seatbelt, grabbed the bread, and got out of the car. Standing by the door I told my friend, "I'll ask him next time I get the chance." I thought of how lucky Sean is to have a super genius to do work for him. I saw a banner above the swings saying "The Sharing's 1st Annual Cookout". "Look what we have here. Let's try to not act too suspicious." I told Sean. I saw lot's of high schoolers hanging out with their friends, but it was all a disguise. It made me sick to even look at.

I nodded my head in silence, enjoying the cool breeze. I focused my eyes and began scanning around for birds. I was mostly looking at the ground. There were an awful lot of feet today. Normally, this park is pretty low key. There must be a party or charity thing. I got oit of the car and kept scanning. I shut my door, went around to where Drew was and asked, "You see any? I think they're all being scared off by all the people."
Drew replied oddly, talking about not looking suspicious. I contorted my face in confusion, starting to ask, "What are you-" and I finally looked up. "Oh."

I noticed a couple of pidgins hovering over The Sharing. I opened the bread and throw some crumbs on the ground in front of the car. It didn't take that long for one pidgin to notice the crumbs and fly over to us. It landed on the floor and pecked at the crumb. I was thinking about diving for for the bird, but then I noticed a police officer that was with The Sharing eye us. I put a whole slice of bread in my hand and kneeled out to the bird. As it pecked the bread out my hand I put my index finger on it's neck and focused on it, while it fell into the trance I looked over to Sean and nodded.

I barely noticed Drew's motion, but caught his final nod to me. I was staring out at the number of potential Yeerks. The thought that not all of these kids were in fact controllers; but would more than likely end up as one. Then the thought that some day, I'd end up tearing into the jugular of one of them as they would hold a Dracon at me. When Drew caught my attention, I knelt down and collected the pigeon. I held its wings down to its side and said in a normal tone and volume, "Thanks Gary, Michelle will love this as a pet. I don't know why I was going to pay so much at a pet store. You're right, 'Why pay for what's readily available down the street?'. Let's get back think I have a pet kennel I can repurpose for a cage in the garage."
I didn't look anywhere but at the pigeon afterward as I walked back around and got inside my car. I waited for Drew to get back in before I set the bird on the back seat and muttered just loud enough for him to hear, "Put the bread on the seat."

I got in the car and followed Sean's orders and put the bread on the bread on the seat. "Can I use your phone to get in touch with Snopian? I couldn't bring mine since I came here in bird morph." I asked Sean.

I hit the synch button on my steering wheel. A chime sounded, "Call Snopian." After the confirmation sounded I answered, "Sure."
A ringback tone sounded throughout the car's stereo. It was the Peanuts theme song. I commented, "He doesn't know I set that up."
A moment later, a mechanized voice answered the call, "Hello Sean. Is it time to begin the mission?"
I answered, "Not yet buddy; but I do have a pigeon for us to acquire. The reason I called is Drew wanted to talk to you."

"Well, I was waiting to tell you in person, but since I am already on the phone with you I will ask you now. Can you hack my bank account? I understand that you probably don't have the time, but it's all cool." I thought for a minute, but then to make the Andalite feel awkward I added "Love you, goodbye."

I raised an eyebrow at Drew and continued the conversation, "You can just divide my income and send it his account, right?"
Snopian replied, "No need. Your income is generated from the transactions taking place in the Bank of America systems. I only need input the program into a different bank and Andrew will have his own income stream. Andrew, I will need your banking information in order to properly initiate the program. Though it would be better to discuss those details in private. However I will begin investigating a new bank and begin the creation of a new program to coexist with their system. Your information, Andrew, will just needed to be entered last."
I spoke up, "Remember Snopian, stay away from small community banks. Just the big names, you know, the 'too big to fail' banks we talked about."
Snopian replied, "Of course. It also wouldn't generate as much revenue installing the program into a small bank as they don't have so many transactions per day."
I agreed, "Exactly."
Snopian interjected, "May I ask Andrew: why did you feel it necessary to express your emotion to me at such a disconnected moment?"
I wanted to answer, but Drew made the joke. I sat there quietly instead. A small smile forming as I stopped myself from laughing.

"Well Uncle Snoop, it was a joke." I called him by a name that irritates him so he could feel how I felt. "Does Sean every try to teach you humor?" I asked Snopian. I looked out the window. "Are we going to your house or Snopian's scoop?" I asked Sean. We had to get the bird to Snopian somehow.

Snopian replied, "I have a firm handle on the mechanics and sounds of humor. However your tone and personal nuances do not translate through my device. I also have less of an appreciation for humor aimed at myself. It would not be wise to meet at Sean's house as it is well inside the city limits. You could either hold onto the animal, or come to my scoop."
Sean nodded, "Yeah, we'll come by later. After all, Drew needs to get his account info first."
Snopian replied, "Agreed. I will await your next communication. ... I love you too Andrew."
A tone came over the stereo that the call had disconnected. I smiled wider, but kept my mouth shut as I turned down a street that would lead us to Drew's house.

I waited until Sean pulled into my driveway. I got out the car "All right I'll meet you back at the scoop." I walked inside my house and went to my room.

I had watched my cousin and seen nothing that was interesting or that led me to believe he was a controller. I dropped down from a thrermal and into a darkened alley and demorphed. I found one of the last possible pay phones on earth and called Sean and hoped he would answer.

I went to my room and opened my window and then focused on the osprey DNA inside of me as feathers stenciled on my skin and became 3-D. My body shrank until it was about 2 feet tall, my fingers conjoined and became one as my arms became wings, and my feet became talons. I looked at myself with the amazing visions raptors have through my dressings mirror and I noticed that I still had a mouth. I focused on the final change of my mouth into a beak.
I then lifted my wings and jumped out the window, I used to midday thermals to rise high above Sean's car. <I'll race you to Snopians Scoop!> I called out to him.

When Drew closed his front door, I waited for him to come back out. When he opened his window, I muttered, "Oh, he's not..." Sure enough, not a couple minutes later, he emerges from his window in morph. I call out loud enough for him to hear; but no one around would overhear, "You forgot your bank onfo. You can't get your account fixed if you don't have the information."
Why the hell did he want a ride when he could've just flewn from Connor's? I'm certain even my friends don't understand their motives anymore. Just then, my cell phone rang. I took it out and answered it, "City Morgue."

When Sean answered his phone with city mourge I decided to play along and said "Yeah, Hi Im looking for a few dead bodies I can use as decoys to collect on my life insurance, is there anyway you can help me?" I waited a bit smiling to myself I continued "So far nothing on my cousin, what do you two have for us?"

I realized that I had forgot to tell Sean something important. <I don't want Snopian to give me money, because I feel like it isn't right. I can't just get money without working. When my father asks what job I have I can't just lie to him. I may not have plenty morals, but I know that my father does.> I thought about my recent actions and said, <I am sorry for putting you through this trouble bro. I just want to go out and fly and think while doing it. I'll see you later.> I flew downwards and landed on a tree by his car. <Where and when do you want to meet back up at?> I asked.

I answered Connor, "Dude, it's been barely an hour. Of course you won't see anything yet. We got a pigeon to acquire. I'm on my way to my place to get a kennel. I don't want the thing loose in my car. Anyway, just stay on your cousin 'til we meet up at the Gardens. What time should we meet?"
I looked at Drew's window, and said aloud, "I'm not talking to a bird in the middle of the street." I drove off of Drew's street and turned toward my house.

"Well they close at 10, so lets make it 5, hows that sound? I know its only been a hour, I was just giving an update like a good lweader would." I said with a fae huff of exageration

I jumped off the tree and spread my wings. As the thermals rose me up, I thought about something useful I can do. I started to fly towards the park to go towards the sharing's celebration, I thought I might find some valuable information while my friends do more important stuff.
