Title: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on December 17, 2010, 06:32:49 PM
I'm relatively new to the forums, so I would welcome some friendly criticism on my...presentation here.

Year: 2063(56 years since the Adndalite/Yeerk war)
Starting point: Andalor, Homeworld of the Andalites and seat to the Headquarters of the Galactic Accord Union.
Starting Condition: Peace. The Andalites, Humans, Hork-Bajir, Taxxons, Leerans and several other species have joined into a federation known as the GAU. The Kelbrid have remained true to their agreement with the Andalites, and remained on their side of the border, allowing for an epoch of peace.

70 years earlier: <Is it done YET!?> screamed Visser Three in thought-speak that made Geriss One-Six-Nine-Three feel like his host's head was going to explode.

Geriss opened Gabe David's mouth, to answer Visser Three in a shaky voice, "Y-yes, Visser. Our scientists have been working around the clock to finish th––"

<SPARE ME that talk. Just make sure it WORKS, the FIRST time!!>, Visser Three bellowed.

"Yes! Of...of course Visser! We will have it done by tomorrow."

<I will hold you to that. You can be sure of it.>, Esplin promised...threaten ed.

Geriss said nothing. Nothing to say. If Visser Three held you to something, you just tried to get it done as soon as possible. He turned back to the portal Gate. It was nothing like Human science Fiction would have demanded. It was not a full circle, nor a vessel in which to drive off in. It was simply two poles with holes inside them. When they were turned on, it looked nothing like humans would have predicted either. When turned on, the holes would shoot what looked like lightning. Electricity, between them. Then, it turned into a misty, glowing blue haze.

A Time Portal.

The Next Day

<Geriss. Is it ready!?> Visser Three yelled.

All his staff scurried away.

"Yes, Visser Three."

<ACTIVATE IT!>

"Yes, sir." Geriss ran to the activation switch...

The beams of electricity shot out, each to the other corresponding hole opposite it. Then, each band grew in width, and took on a blue hue. Then it softened, and became a misty look. They heard echos from the other side.

"There you go Visser. I can have my crews ready to go with you in..."

<No.>

Geriss stuttered, "No, V-visser?"

<That's what I said. No. You and your crew will go. I will remain here and wait for your return. I will have a series of Blue Band Hork-Bajir ready for your departure.>

Geriss stammered, "O-o-of course Visser."

3 hours later

Geriss, Yntill, 6 other scientists, and a pack of 10 Blue Bands stood before the portal.

Geriss spoke after a long hesitation, "Activate the Time Portal."

So, basically, you are a Human, Andalite, Leeran, Hork-Bajir, Taxxon, Iskoort, or Renegade Kelbrid that comes to Andalor(You will have to explain your reasons), and I will introduce the Yeerks when they come in from 70 years earlier.

ALL PLAYERS HOLD THE ABILITY TO MAKE GAMEPLAY PLOT TWISTS. While this may come as a shock at some times, it can make for a more interesting story. However, if you notice the direction a player is trying to take, please refrain from deliberately changing it in order to frustrate the other player, or suit your needs better. However, no players except Execs(Myself, Chad29, Gymn, and J-angel) may enter the Ellimist or Crayak. We also control most NPCs.

Key: <Thought-Speak>, Leeran Thought-Speech, "Nominal Speech"

–and–
Played by: Stephlao
    Character Name: Enan Rhohawk
    Character Species: Human
    Age: 29
Appearance: 5' 6", Brown Hair, Caucasian, Blue eyes
Bio: Investigator Enan Rhohawk is a scientist from Earth. His title does not denote crime scene forensics, but rather his professionalism in researching, categorizing, and identifying scientific phenomena. He had close ties with Cassie Chambers' lineage, Galaxy Chambers. He and her spent a lot of time working on biology together, and that was where Rhohawk got his interest in science jumpstarted. He has a photographic memory, but is not very sure of himself.
–and–
Played by: Stephlao
    Character Name: Claxter-Karmesh-Sinopul
    Character Species: Andalite
    Age: 4 Andalite Years
Appearance: Mostly blue, with various soft tan patches, including one around his right main eye as a distinguishing mark. Unlike the unarmored soldiers in the past war, he does wear laser resistant armor. He also wears straps on his arms that can project forcefields, though they will short out when under constant pressure. He also wears a metallic cover over his tail, making it harder.
Bio: Claxter works as a security officer in the Galactic Headquarters building.

Played by: J-Angel
    Character Name: Gersarus
    Character Species:Iskoort
    Age: 17
Appearance: A normal War-Monger form, paler than normal. His right stalk eye is shorter than usual.
Bio: Gersarus is a war-monger Iskoort from the Iskoort homeworld. He was one of 20 Iskoort traveling to Earth in the Iskoort vessel   Rae'nir. The ship crashed on the planet, but before humans found the ship, everyone died but Gersarus. He destroyed the last of the shuttle. He accidentally found the Yeerk pool, and found a Martin's Tube (Terran Term)that lead into a high security room containing a temporal portal. Now he has arrived in the year 2063, and is about to play an important role in defeating the Yeerks.

Played by: Ryan
    Character Name: Xero Ermanda
    Character Species: Human
    Age: 53
Appearance: 6'4", 203 pounds, Muscular Build. Black hair, gray streak(Standard Army cut). Black/Dark Brown Eyes(Based on Light index), A large slightly curved scar above his left eye, and a massive scar going from his left shoulder to his right waist.
Bio: Not big on morals, but it is often good in his line of work. If you gain his trust, which isn't easy against the paranoia hammered into because of his work as a Union soldier, he is very loyal. Mostly he only cares about his weapons and ship, the former he treats like his own children. He used them in his 30+ years as a bounty hunter turned soldier. He never turns down a good mission, combat or no. Which is why he accepted the mission to help defeat the Yeerks on Mareneoi.

Played by: Aldrea2011
    Character Name: Geriss 1-6-9-3(Visser 4, Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene)
    Character Species: Yeerk/Andalite Controller
    Age: 5(Yeerk)/3(Andalite)
Appearance: 5'5", Purple, relatively short eye stalks.
Bio: Geriss 1-6-9-3 was the unlucky pawn of Visser 3 during the war. Now, with his own Andalite host, all he wants is to get back to tell the Empire about it's fall, and be promoted to Visser 1 –– maybe even a seat on the Council of Thirteen. // Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene is named for the late Aldrea-Iskillion-Fallan, viewed as a heroine once the humans heard her story. Aldrea captains the Dome-Ship StarSavior, the origin of the new Yeerk invasion.

The doors opened for me.

I walked through. It was ridiculous really. Give a race advanced technology and they become to lazy to even open a door for two Terran seconds.

<Ah, Kage Hamee. Welcome to Andalor, Ambassador.>

It was Derelath-Jeffon-Tyynimet. He was the head of the Ambassadorial senate here on Andalor.

"Thank you Minister. May I call you Derelath?"

The Andalite pondered this, <Minister Derelath.>

I resisted the urge to do what passed for humans rolling their eyes.

"Of course. Minister Derelath. A pleasure to meet you in person. Do you know when the other Ambassadors will get here?" I asked.

<They will arrive shortly. As a matter of fact, here comes one now.>

((I'd say welcome to the game, but it's not really a game yet. :P))

I almost laughed out loud. The Iskoort turned. It was not an Ambassador, it was just another citizen...

Behind him had been an Andalite. An old one, from the look of it. He had armor over him, and metal along his tail. He walked in.

Derelath spoke up, <Ah. Ambassador Kage, this is Security Officer Claxter-Karmesh-Sinopul. He has been assigned as your personal security officer>

"Good day Officer Claxter." I said.

((Ok, welcome to the game! It's official now. :) ))

Claxter stood in the same room as the Minister and Ambassador, though didn't actually speak unless spoken to. His job was merely to settle disputes and ensure safety. The day had been quiet, except for that one episode when a drunken Human left a room where they were having celebrations, and got lost. Humans would celebrate just about anything from a person's day of birth to the beginning of a new year with intoxicating beverages.

His main eyes kept track of the main door as his stalk eyes surveyed the room.

Claxter did not answer. He simply 'about faced' as the humans say, and kept his main eyes on the transparent doors, and his stalk eyes darted about the room, like any good Andalite.

Kage sat at the chair nearest Claxter. He liked Andalites in general. He liked several Andalites personally. He would wish to become friends with his Security Chief, but if the Andalite was going to be...taciturn...he would not try to force his hand.

(I missed the part of the post where you spoke to Claxter. Sorry. Also he's not supposed to be very old. Ax is like 2 Andalite years, and about 13 in Human years. Claxter is 4 Andalite years old.)

After a few moments of watching the door, Claxter noticed he was being spoken to. <Oh, I apologize. Greetings ambassador Kage. I have a habit of tuning out conversations sometimes, as I try not to eavesdrop. Sometimes it makes me look aloof. It is good to meet you. Yes, I am in charge of your security. If there is anything you need, just ask. I'll do my best to listen.> he said, and gave a small bow.

(I forget if they get tanner with age, or if tan is just an alternate hair/fur color.)

<You may, sir. So what brings you here, today? Everything going well on the Hork-Bajir Homeworld? I heard rumors that they're attempting to do something about those places on the surface outside of the fertile valleys.> Claxter said, making polite conversation.

((I see. Ok. :) ))

"As a matter of fact, I am partially here to discuss these 'attempts.' These talks are to update the most recent information, Claxter. Computerized intelligence can tell the gist, but they can never tell the concerns of the Hork-Bajir or negotiate a compromise. So, the Union created the Ambassadorial Senate. But I'm sure you know that. I'm sure you also know that I'm here to replace the late Emissary Vory Tekan. He died on a diplomatic mission to Kel'beyR."

Played by: Cobra
Character Name: Parag Yhua
Character Species: Leeran
Age: 30
Appearance: Parag is average looking, and somewhat stronger than normal. He carries a sleep-dart gun, with enough knock-out drug to put a Hork-Bajir out for two hours, at all times. He has a stern expression for a Leeran, but truth be told it isn't that stern to a human. He doesn't use violence when it isn't nessecary.
Bio: Parag is Ambassador Acoun's bodyguard and has been for many years. His is also his aid. When he was a child he was orphaned and Acoun took him in. He is reluctant to use violence, but he will if Ambassador Acoun's life is threatened.))

The conversation stops for a while...and nothing happens.

Two minutes later, it finally happens. The doors SWOOSH aside, and a Leeran strides in: Parag Yhua, Ambassador Acoun's security. He carries a tranquilizer dart.

Kage never really learned to trust Leerans. Let's face it, who does like their brain being probed, whether they like it or not –– for that matter, whether the leeran likes it or not. Acoun Kloa was the only one that really developed a closeness to Kage, personally.

"Welcome to the Galactic Accord Union headquarters Officer Yhua. I regret to inform you that Ambassador Acoun has not arrived yet. But you already know that, don't you?"

((Welcome to the game! May I ask what changed your mind?))

((I have never been a Leeran. One of my other RPs is on hold for now. I'm going to underline Leeran speak, ok?))
Parag nodded to Kage and Claxter. He had know Kage because he was friends with the Ambassador. Claxter, he had met a number of times during meetings like this. He probed the immediate area for people's emotions only. The other ambassador probably didn't want their mind's probed. I am aware of this. The ambassador will be here shortly. Parag narrowed his telepathy down to Claxter. Are there any security risk I should know about?

((I put it in the key: Leeran Thought-Speek.))

"Yes. I hope he will be." I said to Parag.

Minister Derelath walked back in, <Ah, Parag Yhua. A pleasure. I trust your trip was uneventful? Ambassador Kage, I have just received word that Ambassador Gete-Lij of the Capasin Hegemony will not be coming. He has also advised us of the condition of his holo-communications –– they are down. This being the case, I will initiate a recording device once the senate has begun.>

My trip was quite pleasant. Ambassador Acoun should be on his way from his ship. I left him in the capable hands of Claxter's men. Parag wasnt worried that he would get here safely.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: Chad32 on December 19, 2010, 11:52:07 AM
<There are no security problems at this time. I have made sure everything is tight.> Claxter said. He tried not to show any distaste towards the Leerans, though he did know there was a time when Leerans weren't even allowed on the Homeworld. That was war time, though, and this was peace time. It's not that he thought Leerans were inferior, but being able to read minds was a security risk. That was just his profession making him biased. He may have liked them more if he had a different occupation.

Kage played with a 3D holo-terminal image of the Galaxy, sooming in on Andalor, then his home-world Antai, then Leera...then he shut down the holoemitter...nobod y was late, but from the look of it, nobody would be early for the meeting.

He walked over the soft blue, green, and red Andalite grasses under his feet pacing. A small Terran bonsai tree sat in the corner, and a bonsai Stoola was in the back of the room. The wide roof was a transparent dome, built by those who took care to think of Andalite claustrophobia.

Parag sense that Claxter had a dislike of Leerans. He understood that in a way. He was in security but as a Leeran mind probing wasn't a problem to him or Ambassador Acoun. He addressed Claxter in private. I understand your mistrust of Leerans but it isn't necessary mistrust me.

<<I know that.>> Claxter said privately. <<I remind myself of that often. You are trustworthy, and welcome here. I like to hope all Leerans that come to Andalor are as well, but this is the kind of thing that just comes with the job.>>

I may not be an Andalite, and I may not be a Leeran. But with all my experience being an Ambassador, I had picked up on the air cast by Andalites and Leerans when they were telepathically excluding me.

"Is something the matter Claxter? Parag?" I asked.

I followed Parag. When Yhua knocked, Communications Chief Denis Gatrior signaled for us to come in. We walked in.

"Chief, we were wondering ––" I started.

He waved his five-fingered hand in a gesture to be quiet. Then, to come closer. I heard a transmission in the background. I realized he was signaling us to listen to it...

<We have lost communication with the StarSavior,> said the voice of General Sylinav-Heikom-Fannor of the Dome-Ship Aximili, <They were on course to Andalor, as you know. We lost their signal while they were passing through the Gressen Rift. Cause unknown.>

Denis gestured for me to come into visual range.

After the General could see me and Parag, "General. You were saying?"

He bowed slightly, <As you are aware Ambassador Kage, Ambassader Acoun was on the StarSavior.>

"Was there any signal degradation prior to loss of the signal? Any...warning signs?" I asked.

<None, Ambassador. We simply...lost the signal. As I said, the cause is unknown.>

"I'll go get Claxter. Meet us in docking bay S-12. My ship, the Prodigy is there. Just cue the computer. You can get in with security code Alpha-alpha-q-10...although you probably already knew that."

<I'm right behind you, Ambassador.> Claxter said. He sent a message to his second in command, telling him he was in charge until Claxter got back. He followed Kage, wondering what might have happened. The route should have been clear. This was very sudden. Maybe it was an ambush. either way, they needed to get to the Starsavior quickly and assess the situation.

Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on December 20, 2010, 12:13:15 PM
We ran to docking bay S-12 and there was the Prodigy.

The Prodigy was one of the first Hork-Bajir built ships. It was 10 meters, wingtip-to-wingtip. The wings were pyramids, coming out from the ship, longer than tall. The back of the wing had a large hole in it that glowed a bright blue –– the sub-Z ion engines. It also looked like the builders had taken what they scooped out of the back and put it in the front. The bulge glowed a dull, whitish-orange. They were the fuel collectors. In case the ship ran out of power, they could project a large conical field and draw in hydrogen molecules. These it would compress, and then using some chemical reactory system, would make power.

The main body itself was ovular, with three fore-facing spikes towards the front, similar to the Hork-Bajir head. These spike curved forward and down over the helm, which could be clearly seen from the outside as a triangular three-seat arena with controls to the front and the sides. The rear end came to a similar conical end, with two thin tail fins projecting out that could divert the Ion flow to propel the ship faster or slower, up or down.

I entered my DNA code. Then, after the computer asked for voice recognition and code, I said, "Alpha-alpha-q-10."

The door opened. One fourth of it went up, the other 3 came down as a ramp. I climbed in the Claxter on my heels.

Yhua jumped into the rear seat. I sat in the seat specifically designed for Hork-Bajir, and had the ship retract the tactical seat so that Claxter could stand there. We took off, toward the Gressen rift.

Even in peace it isn't wise to travel with no armament. Even if only for use against debris in your way. Parag was a body guard so he had definite opinions about starship weapons.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on December 22, 2010, 09:18:08 AM
"Yes, while the Shuttle Unit Hork-Bajir are just as... unintelligible as any, the Andalites on the project did install some weaponry. I believe it was an average shredder refitted to fit our needs more specifically. The Hork-Bajir seer on the grounds at the time called it a Tyrra beam. Yes, there are two in front, each underneath one of the fuel collectors. And...one in back, right on the tip. They are less painful than Dracons, and not as powerful as shredders, but in terms of power, they are relatively good. As opposed to the allowance the Andalites have given the Iskoort, which compared to ours is something to laugh at. All-in-all, I think the name Prodigy is very fitting. But that's just me –– I named it.", I chuckled.

The Prodigy glided out of the Andalite starsystem, and I set a heading for the Gressen rift. We picked up speed, and then we finally translated to z-space.

As much as normal M-space was attention-grabbing, even mystically wondrous, I had always been more interested in z-space. Advanced civilization centers on it. Travel, communications, even the Andalite morphing capability. The blank white nothingness that most people would think was a horribly scary place was how powerful space-faring peoples thrived.

It would take us two days to get to the Gressen rift. Two days to intercept the jeopardized StarSavior. By the time we got there, other ships closer to the area would probably be there. I knew some Iskoort ships were close, as well as Andalite, and a few Terran ships. At least I hoped that was all...
–––––––––––
Two days later
–––––––––––

"Preparing for M-space translation." I said.

The Prodigy seemed to pop out of nowhere...into normal space. Right next to the nebula-like Gressen rift. I stared in awe.

"I agree with Claxter. I would not be to worried. The StarSavior is carrying weapons to make an average Dome ship cry."

As I had predicted, there was a small fleet of Andalite fighters circling a Dome-ship. There were two Iskoort ships, probably scavenging the udecalithium deposits, and three terran assault vessels.

I piloted the Prodigy towards the moon...I engaged all sensor feeds.

Claxter highly doubted anything could compete with a Dome Ship's main cannons, but this wasn't the time for a debate of egos. He merely took in what he saw, and waited until they drew closer. he would help if he was needed.

"I think I've got something!" I said. I was picking up a transmission...

"This is Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene of the Dome-Ship StarSavior! We are in need of immediate assistance! Our ship has ben infilt––" TSEEEWWW! TSEEW, TSEEEEW!

The transmission went static. The crackling of the communique, however, was not as empty as it seemed. It meant that the communications array had been destroyed from the inside.

"Infiltrated? How could that be?" My heart began to race.

((Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene will eventually be a playable character. This will only be allowed when the Yeerks are exposed, and out in the open. Once someone takes the role of Aldrea, they will write in purple text.))

<That sounded like dracon fire. Dracon beams have been outlawed. The Yeerks lost seventy years ago, but there was always talk of some group of them hiding in the shadows. I don't suppose this is one such group. The only other race to commonly use dracons is the Skrit Na, and this doesn't seem like their style. Ambassador, are we in range to send a message out before we land? We may want to let any nearby allied forces know of the danger.>

"Yes...yes, of course!" I replied to Claxter. I had been so worried about Acoun and Captain Aldrea that I forgot about being safe.

I cued the computer to open a channel to all allied vessels within range, "To all ships in the area, this is Ambassador Kage Hamee of the Prodigy. We have turned up a transmission from the StarSavior. We advise all ships to remain in orbit of this planet...NR–156927–1...until further notice."

Then, "Ok. I'm taking us in."

I pressed a few keys, and a manual steering bar came up. It was one of those great inovations the Terrans came up with. And it felt more comfortable in my hands then a console did.

I steered us down...

The moon had a light cloud cover. Translucent at best. But most ship viewers could still see us on the surface.

The moon had virtually no atmosphere. If we did get out, it'd be with enviro-suits.

We skimmed the surface...it was so cold out on this Nebula Rogue –– which is why it was NR–156927–1 –– that the atmosphere was partly crystalized, floating in the 'air' or stuck on the surface. The Prodigy would have a few scratches when this was over for sure.

"Stay here? I don't think so. I need my tactical/security officer with me. But I also need someone to read the area. We're all going. I am Ambassador Acoun's personal friend. I need to help. Plus: It's my ship."

I walked toward the back and grabbed a Hork-Bajir EV-suit, an Andalite EV-suit, and a Leeran EV-suit. I put mine on, "Let's go." I said as a giant crashed andalite ship came into view.

I picked up my Scrutinization Emblazon Nacelle Serried Objective Recorder; S.E.N.S.O.R.

I scanned around, until I picked what our visual screen saw only moments before: An andalite dome-ship. The StarSavior. It had no external damage but for the compression and hull breaches caused by the high-altitude crash.

"That way" I said in my microphone. I moved off in the direction of the domeship.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

Claxter walked up to the crashed Domeship, and took a look. The door wouldn't open, but there was a sizeable hole nearby leading into a hallway. <We will want to head to the bridge and see if anything is still operational. It's in this direction.> He said.

((I would say Kage is fairing a little better than Vogefac at the moment...))

"Acknowledged." I said. I followed Claxter. He was an Andalite, so he would obviously know the inner workings of the ship himself.

The lights were partly off, and the floor seemed moist...maybe it was my mind playing tricks?

We headed off for the bridge.

When we finally got there, the door was locked.

"Claxter, do you know the security codes for a high-security Dome-Ship?"

He was a security officer, right?

Claxter used thought speech to activate a panel, and punched in some codes. He gained clearance, and the doors of the bridge opened. He entered the room cautiously, and looked around. There had been a battle in here, and he began to check for signs of life.

((Hmm.....how about two Andalites and a....nah, three andalites is good.))

"Oh... Friends of the Galactic Accord Union! We have come to help you!"

A purplish Andalite came out from the mist...

"Captain Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene! We are so relieved to see you!", I said, all the while they getting closer.

<Yes, well. I only wish I could say as much likewise. Guards!>

The two other Andalites charged us, tails high, as Aldrea spoke yet again, <And do not call me Aldrea, for that is not my name. You may call me Visser 4, Geriss 1-6-9-3.>

Yeerks!

I readied my blades...
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: Chad32 on December 30, 2010, 12:56:48 PM
How had this happened? Yeerks not only infiltrated the Dome Ship, but took Andalites as hosts! <You will not keep those bodies for long, Yeerk rebels!> Claxter said as he activated his shield and drew his weapon. This was not an ordinary shredder. No, they had gone beyond that. He fired a wide stream of pulse shots towards the controllers, hoping that he'd be able to hit them all while they were still in the hallway.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on December 30, 2010, 01:03:52 PM
Claxter fired his shredder. It was a strange shredder...it fired pulse shots instead of beams. I suppose, for three andalites to knock out, it was a better take on the weapon.

"Visser 4" ducked out of combat and ran, while her two guards ran for Claxter and myself.

"AAAAARRRGH!" I screamed, as the andalite's tail-blade cut a hole in my chest.
I slashed out while his tail was recoiling...

SLASHSLASH! SLASH SLASHSLASH!

The first two rendered his fore legs inoperable. The last three removed his tail from operation.

<NOOO!>, he cried. Understandably. He was a Yeerk. Andalites were the prized hosts.

I put him out of his misery.

"I thought all the Yeerks had been dealt with!" I said as I dove behind Parag to get a better view of Aldrea. She...Geriss was running towards a blue, glowing mist that throbbed with the gentle hum of a million voices.

"I don't know what that is, but I have a feeling we can't let Geriss get through it. Take her out, quick! But don't kill her!"

A hit!

<AAAARGH!> came the cry of Visser 4's stolen voice as she tried to pull the dart out, but failed. She dropped to the ground. I lept out, and just as I was grabbing her tail...

a movement in my peripheral vision...Hork-Bajir! Closing in!

Blue-Bands?

SLASH SLASH!

My right arm went limp...
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

Ambassador1 No!> Claxter yelled as he rushed to put himself between Kage and the Hork-Bajir. They were wearing blue bands. These couldn't be the elite shock troops of the Empire, could they? That was so long ago. He fought them with all of his skill, and they seemed surprised that he wore a metal cover over his blade that they couldn't block. They still fought hard, and he was forced to morph.

They were surprised again when his morphing was very fast. Seventy years ago it took three minutes to morph. Now it seemed to take thirty seconds. Hard exoskeleton replaced skin and fur, and his arms and legs swelled to large enough size to swat the Hork-Bajir to the floor.

<We must get the Ambassador to the sick-bay. We can't let the Yeerks escape with any Andalite bodies. Either capture them alive, or end their suffering, but don't let them be taken.>

Parag leaped out of the way. I am no good in close combat. He fired his dart gun at the remaining Andalite controller...

Yntill had gotten used to this body before the interferers had come. He lashed out with hist tail and knocked the dart from the air. He noticed how the Andalite had some sort of armor and a metal tailblade and realized the best course of action would be to retreat. <Deal with them!> he told the Hork-Bajir. He rifled through his host's morph's he select the one for the task and soon he bulged into a tentacles mass with an amoured center. He picked up Visser 4 and moved towards the portal. His host, a male Andalite named Feraph-Jerali-Yurnara, stuccoed but Yntill clamped  down and kept control.

The Yeerks were escaping through the nexus!

"Claxter! Parag! Cover me!"

I ran out. I ran for the Andalite gone mad. I slashed his tentacles. 1...2...3...4...5.. .

Panting, I finished the job, and dragged the unconscious Visser 4 back.

((I'll take Aldrea for now))
Nothing. Blackness. That blasted Leeran knocked me out...I was still conscious as the Hork-Bajir dragged me back. Then...

.....

<Help me get the Ambassador onto my back.> Claxter said as he finished morphing. It was a large creature that resembled a scorpion, though it had two stingers and no pincers. Its antenna waved around, expecting more danger.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: Cobra (Gymn) on January 01, 2011, 01:27:42 PM
Yntill's amoured center thudded to the ground, with out tentacles he was helpless. He began demorphing. He had to get back. Visser 4 was out reach. He finished and began to move towards the Portal. He didn't make it two steps before something hit him and he collapsed on the ground.

Parag had fired his dart when the andalite demorphed. He did what he could to hoist him towards Claxter.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

"We have to get back to the ship!", I said, Aldrea still in tow.

Then I revealed something that I kept hidden from most people. To morph in front of the Hork-Bajir people would constitute you a demon or something alike. To morph in front of others was a security risk.

I threw the Visser into the air and with shear drive and the advances in andalite technology, I morphed quicker than even Claxter...

My arms shriveled, then grew out again. Bone all but disappeared. Then, my arm was pure muscle. It was a long appendage that was two feet in  circumference. I had only two, but they were strong enough to lift 20 andalites each.

My body melted into a down-facing crescent shape, a brighter shade of blue with yellow spots than my tentacles. Wrinkly almost beyond compare. No real neck, but random eyes in the front and nostrils above it. my head almost looked like a tail. My back was concave, built to store water on the arid world the Venyl Co came from. It was almost as soft as a cushion, but full of muscle. My stomach was similar, but convex. In other words my entire body looked like an face-plant 3 almost.

The visser landed perfectly on my back. I ran to the Prodigy.

Parag was shocked. He had known Ambassador Kage for a while since he was a friend of Ambassador Acoun's but he never morphed! Parag began to fall behind. The Andalite-controller was heavy and he hoped the others took care of the Blue-Bands. I would appreciate some help.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: Chad32 on January 02, 2011, 05:02:27 PM
<I think we're going to have to have a discussion about that later.> Claxter said. He helped parag get the remaining live hosts out to be rescued. He hoped that no other andalites had been captured and taken, and wondered if anyone else was on the ship.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on January 02, 2011, 09:46:26 PM
((Oops, forgot the ship was outside...))

But then I realized CLaxter and Parag still needed help. Visser 4 was subdued, as was the other Andalite-controller. We had to take control of the Hork-Bajir.

I demorphed. Then remorphed.

I grew two time my height. The end result was not much different from a 12 foot tall Hork-Bajir, except that I had huge leathery wings, my torso was only 5 feet in circumference, I was a dull blue-gray, and had more spikes. I was also faster on my feet.

I lept and glided onto one of the Blue-bands. My toe claw ripped it in half. I jumped to the others.

Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: Chad32 on January 02, 2011, 10:18:45 PM
<It's alright. I'm sure he has a good reason.> Claxter said in a tone of voice that meant he better have a good reason. Andalites don't just pass out morphing power to aliens. Though there was a case on Earth after the war was over. It wasn't unheard of. He dragged as many controllers as he could into the ship outside, and started looking for something to restrain them.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

I demorphed and put Visser 4 on the pile of Controllers. I knew this ship well, so while Claxter looked for something to restrain them, I simply said, "Computer! Quarantine on sections alpha-epsilon-5 through alpha-zeta-10."

A force-field snapped to life around the yeerks. They were contained.

I walked over to the pile of unconscious abominations. It reached out, and the Force field snapped at my finger. It was working properly.

"We can do that on the way back to Andalor. Then, I assume we must take them to the Andalite government. Agreed?"

After a few nods from the crew, I started up the engines, and we lifted off. Before leaving however, I hit the Dome-Ship with the Tyrra beams, and it exploded viciously.

I shuddered visibly.

"Computer, scan for specific Leeran life-signs on the planet below."

He could sense Parag was partially threatening him. He spent a lot of time with Leeran ambassadors...

"Parag, be quiet. Acoun was my friend too."

There was a slight pause.

~LIFE SIGNS FOUND. Coordinate 456.788.-12~

I relaxed, "There, you see? Nothing to worry about."

To the computer, "On screen."

We were looking at Kloa from a few miles up. The computer zoomed in. The Yellow Frog was at least a mle away from the original coordinates of the StarSavior. It was still alive, but slow. Leerans were ectothermic. It had on a enviro-suit.

"That's where we're going," I went to grab an eve-suit, "Parag, take us down please."

<Excellent. We'll pick him up and be on our way back.> Claxter said. He could not for the life of him figure out how a group of Yeerks could get inside a Dome Ship, though. <The war has been over for seventy years, but that's no reason for lax security. There will be reprimands in order for some.>
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

Kage assumed the 'reprimands' were in order for himself. But he didn't have time to worry about this smug andalite's pride-of-species. He had a friend/ambassador/sole survivor to save.

I piloted the ship down next to him and got my Enviro-suit on, "I'll be back. If you need me, you both have thought-speak."

I jumped out. Acoun appeared to have passed out already. I picked him up, and I walked in .001 G back to the Prodigy.

"His evo-suit malfunctioned. He's getting close to a hypothermic collapse. We just need to get him to the medication bays. I have two Chee there. They will take care of him."

I lifted him up, onto my shoulders. I brought him into the ship. Then, I sat at the Captain's chair.

"Can you hear me? I am Ambassador Kage Hamee of the Hork-Bajir vessel Prodigy. Who are you?"

<Hey,> Gersarus said. <It's my property, not yours. What I think isn't any of your business.> Temporarily forgetting that no matter where he went he could be mind-read, Gersarus walked a few feet away.

I turned to Gersarus abruptly, "You knew the Yeerks?"

Claxter got the controllers to the med-bay and made sure they were secured. He asked the chee to work on a way to remove the Yeerks as he stood guard in the room. If they woke up, he wanted to make sure they wouldn't cause any harm.

Until you tell us more your thoughts are my business. So you know Yeerks?

"Please, Gersarus, it's very important. How do you know the Yeerks? And how did you get through that portal?", I asked, pointing at the twisting, throbbing blue-mist that was still on our viewscreen, despite our being many, many kilometers away.

<But what if I don't want to say anything about how I know the Yeerks?> Gersarus made a face--which made him look rather disgusting--and stood still. Finally, he sighed,
<Fine, I'll tell you, though I have no idea why. Simply put, the ship I was on crashed. Everyone except me died, I discovered the Yeerk Pool, then found a way to a top-security room. I accidentally entered a room that had something...I don't quite remember too much of what happened after that.> He frowned.

"Well...oh well. At least we know that your not a Yeerk...well, a Yoort yes. A Yeerk, no."

We retranslated to M-space 16,000 kilometers from Andalor, "Well Claxter. I think you should get the Andalite government onscreen...don't you?"

All four eyes snapped open. I was trapped!

<<Of course you are trapped Yeerk. Your plan was not well thought out.>>, the mind of Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene taunted me.

<<SHUT UP, Andalite scum! If your friends hadn't shown up, your future would be very different right now! I know the complete history of the Andalite/Yeerk war! We will get off this ship, and when we do...>>

<<You will be in the Headquarters of the Galactic Accord Union. You will be destroyed.>>

<<Along with your body, captain!>>

<<So be it.>>

I brought Aldrea's body to it's feet. I saw two Androids working over a Leeran. I charged them.

Only to be stopped short by a force field.

<NOOOO! I will not be caged up like an animal!> I yelled, with the feminine "voice" of Aldrea-Nerelth-Trene.

<Be quiet, Yeerk.> Claxter said. <The war has long been over, and still there are Yeerks who abuse their abilities by taking involuntary hosts. It disgusts me. Now, tell me how you got onto a Dome ship and took prisoners. Where did that portal come from?> He didn't really expect her to blurt it out, but he figured he'd get this out of the way.

I'd forgotten Claxter wasn't in the ****pit. I punched a few keys, "Computer. Hail the Andalite central government."

A big, blue, four-eyed face lit the screen, <This is Senator Gremeth-Cherbin-Neviro, how may I help you?>

"No time for pleasantries Senator –– we have Yeerks. Two of them are Andalite controllers. Most are...Blue-band Hork-Bajir.

His eyes widened, <Blue-bands? But...blue-bands have not been used since ––"

"Since the Andalite/Yeerk war Senator. 70 years ago."

I laughed at the Andalite. I saw through his question.

<Your people are not invincible, Andalite-scum. Neither are security procedures onboard a Dome-Ship spectacularly efficient. We would not have needed the portal to––>

I was saying to much! Hopefully the Andalite was to preoccupied coming up with a way to counter what I said to hear that we came from the Portal.

<So you came from the portal. How was it made? Where does it lead from? Tell me everything, and I won't let you starve to death. Refuse, and I may employ a certain tactic that a certain visser 3 came up with so long ago.>Claxter said. Visser three had been known for making starvation last weeks. Claxter wouldn't actually stoop to that level, but this Visser didn't need to know that.

<But how are they here now Ambassador Hamee? I can hardly believe––>

No Andalite was going to rebuff me, "Well, whether you believe it or not, Senator, there are Yeerks on board. Some of these Yeerks have Blue-band hosts."

I initiated an audio link with sickbay, "Claxter? I have Senator Gremeth-Cherbin-Neviro on screen. Will you please tell him there are Yeerks in sickbay."

He was going to starve me!?

<Never! The Empire is more important than I am! I will die for it! You will never get information from me!>

The Hork-Bajir from before called down to this room, "Claxter? I have Senator Gremeth-Cherbin-Neviro on screen. Will you please tell him there are Yeerks in sickbay."

I jumped in, <Senator Gremeth! This is Captain Aldrea! Please, these people are holding me hostage, you have to help me!>

<It's been nearly a century. there is no empire. All that's left of loyalists is small bands that think they can bring back what they lost. The Council is long dead, and you don't control any habitable planets in the galaxy. The war is over. the empire is no more.>

<I am coming.> Claxter said, ignoring the Yeerk's attempts to pass as Aldrea. he went to the ****pit. <Greetings senator. We captured some controllers that came out of a strange portal and took some prisoners. One of which is Aldrea. The Yeerk in her head identifies itsself as Visser Four.>

I turned to Gremeth after Claxter finished and said, "The Prodigy has no...special sensors. We do not know what the portal is. If I was to guess Senator –– it is a Temporal rift."

<A time portal!? How could the Yeerks have created something so advanced?>

"I don't know Senator, but it is the only logical conclusion. Vissers? Blue-bands? A time-portal seems to be the only possible explanation. Claxter, Parag? Do you concur?""
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

Title: Re: Temporal Terror

<If the Yeerks actually made a time machine, I'm certain they stole it from someone.> Claxter said with disdain. As far as he was concerned, the Yeerks could never invent a time machine seventy years ago. <We will have to go through, and destroy it from the inside. We'll also have to ensure that they don't just make a new one.>

<I suppose they can't control the flow of the machine. Otherwise they would go into the past.>

<Well, I see I've been left to myself by my lovely hosts...> Gersarus mumbled to himself, even if Kage was in the room, not paying any attention to him. Gersarus decided to remain quiet until spoken to, whenever that was. Listening to what was happening was enough for him.
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

((Chad, Gymn, and J, your all Execs. You can take control of NPCs too. lol))

I looked at Gersarus slightly, then turned back, "I disagree, Claxter. For instance, another Andalite-controller was dragging this self appointed Visser 4 back through the portal before Parag got him with a tranquilizer dart. I also believe, that since they might be able to, we really need to find a way to get in and shut it down. It would require sacrificing one of our men...perhaps a Chee? But I think it's worth the loss."

Gremeth considered that.

A Leeran came to me.

<Yes I do. But I suppose none of that matters now does it? You're a Leeran, I am a weak Yeerk whose mind oozes information. What does my mind tell you frog?>

Aldrea's mind surfaced to annoy me again, <<Parag! It's me Aldrea! The Yeerks built a time portal. They have come from 70 years in the past...>>

<<SILENCE!>> I screamed at her.

<<...in the past to remobilize the Yeerk invasion.>>

It was all a private conversation. No one could hear it. No one, except those who probe the minds...

<Sending a Chee through first would be a good idea. We really don't know what is on the other side, but a Chee can go in quickly undetected and find out. It can also escape quickly if it's spotted.>
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

"Precisely."

Gremeth, <Well...first, get those Yeerks out of our officers' heads. We can interrogate them in the Junifes Box. Once we have all the information we need, we can send an expedition to NR-1. Since you were a turning point in it's publicity, Ambassador, Claxter, and Parag, why dont you come up with a name for it.>

After he looked the Iskoort War-monger over, <And...maybe...he can help you too.>

<Nothing you have heard from this Andalite is true, Leeran,> I squirmed, <She is simply...desperate to be realeased from my control.>

Kage tried to ignore the Iskoort...

"How about...Mareneoi? It's something I just came up with. I think it's ancient earth latin for 'Land where the War Began." What do you guys think?"

I waited for them to think about that.

I turned to Gremeth, "Yes, I think we will call it Mareneoi."

Gremeth grumbled, <Very well Ambassador. In that case, after we engage the Yeerks in interrogation, you must return to Mareneoi and figure out what is going on.>

I nodded, "It will be done."
Title: Re: Temporal Terror

Parag nodded. You are a very poor liar. The Andalite tells the truth she cannot lie to a Leeran. So to destroy the portal we would have to unplug it and then destroy the machine. This last sentence was broadcast to Kage and Claxter.

Kage heard Parag talking to the Yeerk. Well, the Yeerk and Him. Ok, the Yeerk, Him, and Claxter. Telepathy was confusing.

"Parag has just confirmed our suspicions Gremeth. We'll need to go through the portal and shut it down from inside."

Gremeth nodded, <Very well. i suppose your idea of the Chee will work best. Carry on."

The screen blinked out.

I turned to Claxter and Gersarus, "So....we have to get these Yeerks down to central command to be interrogated. Ready?"

I stared at Gersarus for a second. Then I just piloted the ship down warily. I realized he was an Iskoort war-maker...

I punched the intracomm, "Parag, we have to get these Yeerks out and into the interrogation room."

Kage thought about that. Iskoort don't have any special abilities...war-makers simply like to punch people...

"I'll have to clear that with Gremeth, but thanks for the offer." he said warily. He opened the hatch and the bunch piled out.

Gremeth approached them, with a heavily armed Human following him, <Ambassador Kage, this is Xero. He is a soldier in the Union military.>

<<Back when they were hardened, paranoid, killing-machines,>> he told me privately, <<be careful around him.>>

"Xero?", I wondered out loud, "I think I've heard of you. You have a wonderful record. You've been through 10 near-death situations haven't you?"

I rolled my eyes, "You were unconscious. Would you rather have died?"

I turned back to Xero a gestured to ignore him, "I'm sure we will do a lot of good as well. Here is what has been going on so far:

"Claxter, Parag and myself were waiting for the ambassadorial senate to adjourn, when we heard news that the StarSavior, an andalite Dome-Ship, had gone down in the Gressen rift. We went to investigate, and found it crashed on a planet we just recently name Mareneoi. We found that the captain and three of her friends were infested by Yeerks. We have them in our hold now. This might be the paranoia talking, but what if they're gonna come back with their full forces soon? We need the  Yeerks we do have captive to be interrogated.  They could be escaping as we speak.  Crafty bastards.  They're on a timer too.  Pretty short timer, since I assume we don't have any of those Yeerk pools, or whatever they're called.  Military action may be required soon.  Please tell me they had the sense to at least blockade the planet?". Kage shook his head, "There are no real forces around the Moon. There was a small formation of Andalite fighters surrounding and orbiting an Andalite Dome-Ship, two Iskoort ships, and three Terran...er...human assault cruisers. I'm sure they've been informed however, and I can't imagine the Dome-Ship, fighters, and Cruisers not making a blockade. It is a very small planet...however, knowing the Iskoort," I looked at Gersarus, and lowered my voice, "They probably just went down to the surface to look for stuf to sell, and/or beat up."

Inside the new Hork-Bajir ship, soon-to-be Visser 4 cried. Not the usual crying, that consists of tears falling down out of the eyes and down the cheeks. Inside, Geriss was crying. Oh, and he was crying out –– quite loudly.

<NOOO! GET BACK HERE! Release me you vile simpletons!>

He turned Aldrea's female andalite body to the only other andalite there, <Yntill...I came so close! The second Yeerks to capture an Andalite body. You, the third. We were going to go back, and get promoted! I was going to be Visser 4! VISSER 4 YNTILL!!! You maybe even Visser 5, but probably being just Subvisser 1 or something...you know how it is, first and second are valuable titles. Third is just repetitive...but still! We were so close! Kage's eyes were a little bulged.... This guy just started and he wants to bomb the place?

"Um..well...let's hope a bombing isn't necessary. Nothing to bomb. Mareneoi has no atmo to speak of, so no one is going to be breathing long enough to build anywhere. It amazes me that they turned up on that dome-ship instead of somewhere between the orbits of Betelguease and Canis Majoris, wherever that lay. That's all that's there –– dust, craters, and a portal. He rubs his head.  "Ok the bombing was a bit much.  I just overreact because I've seen some of the things they can do.  What about the portal?  Any intel on that?  Could be important.". After Gersarus' remarks, it was nice to hear a compliment. Kage, as most seers, was very sensitive about how others thought of his race.

"Thank you, I'd like to think so. If you'll excuse me, I have to check on the Yeerks."

I walked to the sickbay, and turned to one of the Chee, "You two have to get these Yeerks on a hover-pad and into the HQ. Just inside the door will be fine."

One of the chee sounded suspicious, "Why?"

I shrugged, a purely human gesture, "We have to take care of them. We don't want them to die. It's been almost a day since we left Maraneoi."

He nodded.

"But first I'd like to talk to them."

I walked up to the Visser, "Well Visser 4. How's it going?"

She...he, er, it looked my way slowly.

"Well Visser 4. How's it going?"

I turned to face the seer mindfully, <Oh fine. I'm in a force-field. Never been better.>

I got up and walked the diameter of the circular area, <But you could make that all better, degenerate.>

He flinched.

<What? Didn't think I could see your littler horn? I'm not blind Hork-Ba... well, I guess I am. But this Andalite is especially not.> I smiled evilly, with the Andalite's eyes, <Is that a matter of some sensitivity for you?>

He squinted viciously, "Shut the sok up Yeerk," he swore in Galard, "Your in no position to anger me."

I smiled, <What are you going to do? Kill me? Go ahead!>

He frowned, "Doctor! Flood the containment area with psychonecrine. Then take them into the HQ."

He walked out... then I felt dizzy... then I felt nothing.

The purple part is purple because I took the role of another character. I have two roles in this game: Kage Hamee and Visser 4. EDIT: Not anymore! :P))

Kage walked out from the ship, "Alright. The Chee are going to bring them inside the HQ. If we run into them, nobody say anything about interrogating them. Or they wont budge."

I walked in front of everyone, "Ok. Listen up. As you all know, we are heading back to Mareneoi to find a way to get rid of this portal. Since we will have no Chee, one of us will have to go. As you all know, once you shut it down, there is no getting back. You will have to live out the rest of the Yeerk war on your own. And you cannot help the Animorphs, or you will risk altering the time-line. On our way to Mareneoi we will decide who goes. Whether by volunteering, or chance, or a fight, or whatever it takes."

He opened the hatch again, and climbed just in the doorway, "Welcome aboard everyone." and he walked to his seat in the ****pit.

<well what do you expect yeerks to do, sit under a rock and talk to trees? This is a lifestyle! Although it would be better if I was sitting back in my own time, as visser one, perhaps even on the council of thirteen!> honestly, have you learned nothing?

Kage keyed internal communications from his seat in the ****pit, "Bridge to Sickbay. Frethys," I called the chee, "Did you get those yeerks out yet?"

"Not yet Ambassador. But...the Visser has just awoken.", came the voice over the intercomm.

I stared at Xero in shock, "Already? Is she...er, he... uuuuh, is it causing any trouble?"

"No sir, just musing."

"Hmm...alright. I'll be down in a minute."

I turned to claxter, "You pilot the ship back to Mareneoi. I know the Yeerks are still here, but I'll have the Chee place them in cryptobiotic cells while WE question the Visser and her companion."

I walked to sickbay, "Well Visser 4. How's my good little yeerky-yeerk? Did you have a nice nap?", I asked, still very disgruntled from their comment on my deformed Hork-Bajir horn.

(We includes me, correct?)
Following his new friend Kage, Xero reaches the sick bay.  When he hears how Kage starts talking to to prisoner, he can barely resist sighing and facepalming. Tapping Kage on the shoulder, he asks "Can I see you outside for a minute?"

Kage didn't realize anyone had followed him.

i used my thought-speak to talk to Kage in the other room. <too bad you just said what you said to me, i was contemplating whether to strike a bargain with you!>
<<he is just trying to get you to say something useful or to cooperate, saying things like that is just his personality>> Aldrea said.
<<yeah, well, he just lost the chance to bargain with me.>> i responded.
<<how are you going to get back to your own time and become visser one is you dont make a bargain though?>>

i sighed. she had a point. <ok, MAYBE i would still be willing to bargain, but the price just went up.> i thought-spoke to Kage. [color]

As Xero brought me into the other room, I paused, "Wait...Visser 4 is talking to me..."

As they talked to me, I repeated it to Xero, "He doesn't appreciate what I said. And they were thinking about striking a bargain with me?"

I waited for more..., "They might still be willing to bargain? It'll be harder?"

I looked at Xero emptily for a second. Then walked back into sickbay.

"Well well, Visser. Feeling a bit desperate? What do you want?"

Disregarding all protocol, Xero walks into the room and grabs Kage by the arm. He says "Excuse us just a second." before dragging the weaker Hork Bajir out, despite any protests. When they are outside, he speaks. "What the hell was that? Walking away like that? That Yeerk ain't going anywhere. That's not how you interrogate prisoners. How many prisoners have you interrogated before. Zero? Maybe one?"
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on February 04, 2011, 10:41:25 AM
I pulled my Hork-Bajir arm away from Xero, not caring if I happened to give him a nice gash. It's just be one more for the collection.

"Listen, ace," I started, trying to hide my amazement at his being stronger than even a Hork-Bajir, "This is my ship, and my sickbay. Where do you get the gall to drag me off my own ship, in front of a prisoner!? It's MY ship, and what I say goes!"

I waited a second to let that sink in. But it only sunk into myself. How could I get so out of control.

I didn't show that I didn't mean it though, "Now. As for your questions. I am an ambassador. My line of work is peace. So no, I have not interrogated prisoners before. As for the way I greeted Visser 4, I was not initiating an interrogation. If I had been, I think I would have been smart enough to know how to talk to her... uh, him... I MEAN IT!"

I took a few deep breaths trying to calm down, I'm not the usual stupid, ignorant Hork-Bajir you will find, HUMAN., I couldn't help but think to myself.

"Now. Would you like to try that again?"

I walked back to sickbay.

I could tell that the Hork Bajir was bluffing when he threatened me. I couldnt believe how stupid he was acting. And just when I was thinking that maybe Hork Bajir weren't all foolish.  He didn't know what he was doing and he ignores the person that does. So that's what a Seer is. Couldn't see what I was doing. I walked back into the room, disappointed but not angry. "I know you didn't mean that, and I meant no disrespect. I was just pointin out that maybe the person who has interrogated hundreds of prisoners before should help handle this. I know how to deal with them. Trust me, this will look bad but it usually works. Just don't interfere, no matter how crazy I seem." I whispered to Kage, so quietly that the Visser couldn't hear, covering my mouth so he couldn't read my lips. Turning to the Visser, I spoke. "Visser, look at you. In an improvised jail cell, yet you still have all the power." 'I hate this part' I thought to myself. "Bravo Visser, I'm impressed. How you held out so long I can't guess. Since you hold all the chips, there's not much we can do. How about this: you give us the information and the Andalite, we give you Karona rays, a new host, and transport to the Yeerk empire. It's a 2 for 3 trade. Not great, but it's all we have to offer you."
Title: Re: Temporal Terror
Post by: RAFrukh on February 04, 2011, 03:26:06 PM
While Kage waited for Xero, he figured he might as well keep talking to the prisoner, "Of course Visser. But it's not like she was a personal friend of mine Yeerk. And I'm sure she would rather die than allow you to live."

Xero walked back into sickbay, behind me. He whispered in my ear, and I listened to Xero as he spoke, "Don't be so sure Xero. It is my ship. But you can take the interrogation from here."

Bzzzz!

Kage looked up and touched the intercomm in sickbay, "Uh...hello?"

It was Senator Gremeth from outside the ship, <Ambassador, you wouldn't mind taking on one more? Perhaps a scientist that specializes spacial phenomena?>

I cleared my throat, "Um...well, we're running low on quarters Senator, but I think we can fit one or two more. Who'd you have in mind?"

"Um...well, we're running low on quarters Senator, but I think we can fit one or two more. Who'd you have in mind?"

Senator Gremeth spoke, <A certain Enan Rhohawk.>

"Well, alright. Send him in.", Kage agreed.

Senator Gremeth typed in a code on the note-pad... Zeta-Pi-467-c. The hatch opened.

<There you go Investigator. Do your job well.>

"O-of course Senator. I'll do my best."

I walked in.

((I didn't. Now I do. :P edited))

On the bridge with Claxter, Parag, and Rhohawk one of the Chee approached me, "Sir... I regret to inform you that... Ambassador Acoun Kloa's leeran body was not built to survive on land long, much less a freezing wasteland. So..."

He hesitated. I spoke, "So what Doctor!? Spit it out!", But i already knew...

"Ambassador kloa... is dead sir.", he walked away after a few seconds.

Parag approached me, Ambassador Hamee, I feel I must leave.

I looked at him, "Just because Acoun died, Parag, does not mean you need to --"

He spoke more firmly, I feel I must leave. My job was to protect Ambassador Kloa. Now he is dead. I can not live with that.

I squinted, "So you're going home to sulk?", I retorted. Worst mistake I ever made.

He turned away, Goodbye, sir. It's been an honor., he walked out.

I hung my head. Then I slammed it into a wall. I banged my head really hard, trying to knock myself unconscious. That wont solve anything, I told myself after I stopped, The ship still needs a captain.

I sighed, and sat at my post. I punched the intercomm, "Hamee to all decks: Prepare for Lift-off."

I pushed a few buttons, punched a few keys, and we were extraterrestrial. I turned to Claxter, "Take us back to Mareneoi."

I walked to my cabin, and lay down on my bed... sulking.

Ambassador Hamee walked out of the bridge. I looked at the Andalite excitedly, "Where do I sit, sir!?"

Ambassador Hamee's voice came up on the intracomm, "Claxter... are we there yet?"

I started to reach for the button excitedly, but cowered realizing it was out of line.

"Sorry, sir.", I apologized to the Andalite, "It's my first time on a space-ship."

I smiled nervously.

"Alright then, let's go. I'll have to knock you out for a few minutes so we can transport you to the miniature Karona simulator." he pushes the button that injects the knockout gas. When he has done that and is sure that the Andalite is KOed, he turns on his radio. "I need someone to get a small pool of water, a lamp with a green lighting filter and some green water dye. This is very important. The Andalites life is at stake here. You have thirty minutes. Meet me in one of the unused rooms. I'll be there with the andalite tied up. That's to prevent us from being killed until the Yeerk leaves. I'll also need someone in sick bay with me to carry the andalite. Hurry." He waits for an Ensign to get there, and with help he carries the Andalite controller to one of the unused rooms. He says the room number and within five minutes his requested items are there. He assembles them to look like a fully functioning Yeerk pool. "Not bad. Let's hope this works." a few moments later, the Yeerk/Andalite wakes up. "Hello there. Here is the pool." He positions the Andalites ear over the pool, since it's tied up. "Ready?"

Xero notices concern in Hamee's eyes and facial expressions. He is fairly good at reading people, but with his career he has to be. He sighs and finishes cleaning his hands.  <So you..... destroyed my ship then?> I paused for a moment. Thankfully I placed The Combarra in a box made with a cogomium alloy, so it would have survived the explosion. I directed my thought-speak to only Ambassador Hamee then. <<My ship was carrying a very unusual artifact. It is called The Combarra. It is an ancient weapon, with an unknown origin. It has a Z-space transmitter and an Interdimentional Property which drags Z-space into M-space balloning it over a target. The bubble collapses back into Z-space, crushing the victim. "Uh...*ahem*... Captain Aldrea, will you accompany me to another room?"

I turned to Ermanda, "I'm sorry but me and the captain need to discuss something classified."

I hoped, being a military man, Xero appreciated what classified meant.

I walked to the room across the corridor and closed the door. Locked it, "Ok, so this weapon," I began suspiciously, "if it was so valuable... so powerful... why was it on your ship?"

My arguing was getting me nowhere.

"All right, Aldrea. I'll give you that. We've had enough experience recently with temporal anomalies to believe that may be true. But we didn't record the explosion. We will have to find this weapon on sensors."

I thought about what I had just said. A weapon... massively powerful. Beyond the wildest dreams of the Yeerks, the Hork-Bajir, even the Andaites... and it was somewhere on a rogue planetoid the size of the Terran moon.

I sighed, and looked down. <That may be harder than you think. Not to mention it is in a cogomium box, the artifact itself has cogomium in its design, it doesnt show on many scanners. The reason behind this is, as you likely know, is that cogomium absorbs energy. Scanners use energy to read whats being scanned. The likely conclusion is that it will not show on scanners.> I explained. Looks like a long day ahead of us. [color]

I stared...

A weapon... massively powerful. Beyond the wildest dreams of the Yeerks, the Hork-Bajir, even the Andaites. It was somewhere on a rogue planetoid the size of the Terran moon... and we couldn't find it on scans...

"Well then, Captain. We'd better find this supposed weapon of yours before the Yeerks do, eh?"

I walked out, "Xero!? Where are you?"

I followed Kage out of the room we were in to where Xero was. I hoped Kage would be willing to go on the mission with me to avoid informing others of the situation.[color]

You nearly bump into him. He was outside the (soundproof) door playing bodyguard. "Right here buddy. Was just watching the door so noone would try to bother you. And though I respect that it's classified, I have to remind you that I'm a General and you're a Ship Captain. I outrank you. By a lot. But keep your secret if you want. I wouldn't want to intrude. I try to not abuse my privileges."

I squinted, "What do you think I am? In the military? I'm an Ambassador. THAT is my rank. My role is a ship's captain. You may outrank Aldrea, who is in the rank of Captain, but as far as I'm concerned, we're even."

I thought for a second... what if Xero was constantly challenging my authority in this mission because he has a secret? I know he's a big military buff, but... what if he's a mercenary, hired to get the Combarra? Or worse, a bounty hunter out for personal gain. The Most powerful weapon ever...

"Alright, look. We need your help, " I started, taking a big risk, "We have a double mission now. We have to go back to Mareneoi, which is only a day away now, to destroy the portal. But we have a new situation. There is...", I hesitated, "A weapon, on Mareneoi. If the yeerks get it, we'll lose this new conflict. If we get it, we win in a few seconds. Can we trust you?"

That didn't come out the way I thought it would... it sounded like I was criticizing his loyalty or personal willpower...

"There was a time that I couldn't be trusted. Many years ago. But I've changed since then. If I couldn't be trusted, I wouldn't be a general. I also wouldn't have been able to get on the ship. Question my authority all you want, but don't you dare question my honor." He pauses for a moment, considering. "A weapon? Must be powerful. We have to destroy it. I don't care about how it would be used. The very fact that a weapon that can single handedly win a war exists is horrifying. Doesn't matter how good your intentions are, I must advise you to destroy the weapon as soon as possible." He sighs and smiles. "And I still outrank you, oh great Ambassador." he says jokingly, but not mockingly.

I sighed. Men of any species usually tend to spat with one another, however right now it was getting on my nerves. I stepped between the two, and said, <Now look, either way, we still need to get that cargo. Lets save this for later, alright?> I kept looking at the two, waiting for an answer that was very slow coming. [color]

I grumbled under my breath.

"She's right. This thing is far to valuable to waste our time arguing. We need to get this weapon. And we can't tell anyone else about it."

I walked up to the bridge, "Claxter. Rhohawk. Prepare for M-space translation."

I sat down at my console and waited for Claxter to get at the tactical panel. Meanwhile, I tried to make ammends. Before rhohawk excitedly took the rear seat, I gestured to it, "Xero. Will you take the Advisor's Chair?"

I punched a few keys and prepared to translate back to M-space.

"Sure." I say, walking to the seat. I sit down and do any safety precautions that are built into the chair. "So, do we really think the Yeerks are coming back?"

I initiated the z-space translation sequence, "All the evidence points in that direction. You squished the first so called Visser yourself."

We emerged into m-space. I ran a nominal sweep on Mareneoi. Just incase the Combarra decided to cooperate. But what I found did not please me nearly as much as finding The Combarra would've.

"Oh...Father Deep..." , I was to shocked to talk for a few seconds.

Xero asked me a question.

"Uh... The Yeerks just leveled the playing field a bit more. They've built a facility around the portal. It's impenstrable by my low power tyyra beams... And then planet has appeared to have absorbed the earth's atmosphere. It's habitable... They have vehicles travelling over the planet... Fleets of blue bands..."

I stared at Claxter and then Xero...,"I wont be surprised if they find the Combarra before us..."

I look down at my feet. "So, this weapon... If they get it, we're all dead no matter what?" I ask, in a pessimistic tone.

((Nice writing Aldrea! lol, I was like, "Cue intense cutscene!" :P ))

"Yyeeesss...", I slowly agreed with Aldrea.

I turned to Xero, "Indeed... or infested at gun-point..."

I gulped...I scanned the facility again, "It's walls are made of cryonium... a common yeerk alloy, but still. The Prodigy's tyyra beams would only be able to destroy it given days of time... and now that the Dome-Ships have left, the nearest ship capable of destroying it would take 3 months to get here..."

"No not at all... Uh," I stuttered, realizing Rhohawk was staring at me.

"What weapon are we talking of?", he asked.

I gaped at him, then moved on to Claxter. We'd just revealed a nice bunch of information to the neutrsl crowd...

"Neither of you are to repeat what you have heard here to anyone. Nor are you to ask for more information on the matter. It is classified. It's between General Ermanda, Captain Aldrea, and I. Understood?"

"Neither of you are to repeat what you have heard here to anyone. Nor are you to ask for more information on the matter. It is classified. It's between General Ermanda, Captain Aldrea, and I. Understood?", Kage asked.

I shrugged, slightly dissapointed..."Alright..."

I walked to the bwck of the bridge trying to occupy myself with systems displays.

Xero sighs. "a. How big is the station and b. Could you get me inside it." he looks up at Hamee and Aldrea. It was pretty obvious what he was planning.

I scanned the facility to the best of my ability...

"That's going to be a bit hard. Each door is locked. There is a gleet biofilter lining each door, and a giant one spanning the entire ceiling... even if we could manage to disable those, there are four Blue-bands guarding each door on the outside, and two for each door on the inside... there appear to be 10 dracon drones hovering around the pool... they spared no effort in defenses..."

I looked at him, "In other words, no. No I couldn't."

I smiled a bit. It's difficult to tell if it was genuine or forced. "Only ten? That's childsplay. If they had 50, that might be hard. Ten isn't even a challenge. Do we have any extra fighters in good condition? I'll take them down from the inside. I've been training for stuff like this my entire life. You don't become a general by being a wuss. Even if I die, if I hold them off until you find the weapon then I've done my duty." You probably feel really bad about questioning his loyalty now.

"You know you couldn't pull it off captain. It would be suicide for you. I have a chance though. I appreciate the offer, but you can't go. I'm sure you're a great soldier, but you'd get in the way because I'd be worrying about you. And do you really want to risk being infested again?" I looked at the captain. Her courage was commendable, even if her judgement was a bit off.

I stared at him, "Xero, I keep telling you this is not a vessel of war. We do not carry fighters. And I appreciate your... outstanding strength... but I really don't think you could survive 24 Blue-Bands, and the over-head gleet biofilter. I really do appreciate your braveness general. In fact, I apologize for my former lack of belief in you. But this is suicide."

"Is there a ship nearbye that contains a fighter? Ive done much more difficult missions before. 24 anythings cant take me down. I know my capabilities. Im a much better shot than any blue bands. The only problem is the filter."

RESUME

I looked at Aldrea, "I suppose that's a permissible move. But right now we have no plan. We will continue our investigation on the assumption that the Yeerks have not found the Combarra yet, and that the Combarra is the only way to destroy this...facility."

I turned to Xero, "I really don't think, had Gremeth not assigned you here, that you would be a necessary help. The Union has always held guile and brainpower in higher regard than brute strength. Forgive me, but were you not here I think we would not be at a loss.", I explained, curtly but tactfully.

"Now. All we have to worry about is FINDING the Combarra. We have this ship, an ambassador, a ship Captain, a battle-ready General, a security officer, and a spatial scientist at our disposal. Oh, and two Chee medics. How do you purpose we do this?", I said to everybody.

The Combarra? Yeerks and Facilities? this was shaping up to be a very strange mission...

But still, the thrill of being on a ship again...

"Now. All we have to worry about is FINDING the Combarra. We have this ship, an ambassador, a ship Captain, a battle-ready General, a security officer, and a spatial scientist at our disposal. Oh, and two Chee medics. How do you purpose we do this?", I said to everybody.", Kage Hamee asked.

I raised my hand.

Kage stared at me for a few seconds, then realized what I was doing, "Investigator, this isn't a classroom. You don't need to raised your hand, just wait for your turn."

I nodded quickly, "Well then, here's my opinion: This is nuts! Here I am lightyears and lightyears from any civilized planet trying to investigate a temporal anomaly, and you all plunge me into the middle of a war! I wont have it!"

Kage bowed his head.

"Investigator, if you cannot assume risks when venturing through space, perhaps you should not."

I turned to Kage, "Ambassador, I will assist with anything that this crew as a whole sees fit to do."

He nodded, "Thank you Claxter. Anyone else?"

Gersarus had gone to the mess hall to find himself something to eat. The nerve of the people, forgetting that he was hungry. Oh well....most of them were like that. And the food didn't even taste good. Blast. However, he ate enough to feel much better, then wondered where to find all the others. He wasn't particularly interested in staying here, and if he had the chance, he might leave. But for now...maybe things would play out. He'd just have to wait and see. The Iskoort War Monger stood up and began walking out.

Something suddenly snapped in my head, "Gersarus...where's Gersarus!?"

I couldn't have him rummaging around my ship. Who knows what he would do! I looked at claxter, and he seemed to understand.

Kage yelled, "Gersarus...where's Gersarus!?"

He looked at me. I understood. Gersarus was a war Iskoort. He would wreak havoc on this ship as if a pass-time.

I walked to the tactical console and searched for Iskoort biosigns on the ship, <He is in the mess hall, Ambassador.>

I rushed down the rear walkway, and ran into a few rooms, finally getting to the mess hall...but no one was there.

<Gersarus? Your presence is needed on the bridge. Gersarus?>
