Ok I wasn't sure if this should go in the fic section yet or not.
I need some peoples permission to put you guys in my fic, and also to find out whether you're happy with the powers you get, I picked them randomly.
If you'd like to change, just tell me and I can do so, but no two people with the same powers.
The story isn't set in stone yet, and any ideas you might have are appreciated.
Okay here are the people that will be in it. If your not included and you want to be, well I have a lot of characters already, so it depends.
Anyways. Anyone wants to trade with someone else or change completely, tell me and I'll change it.
No flight, healing or shapeshifting, as everyone has the power to morph as well.
I'll post a bit more info soon. Oh and if you've decided to be in it, please fill this out:

I figured school age makes sense, for my storyline that is still not fully formed yet.

Damn, Truth already got Telekinesis. :P Ah well, nevermind. Super strength is cool. I'd like something more original, but I can't think of anything right now, I'll let you know if I think of something different.

So I can't wake up in the morning and know what's going to happen ther rest of the day, just what will happen in the next 2 or 3 minutes. Of course, these are only future possibilities, as me looking at the future will give me a chance to change it.
If you've seen the movie "Next" then that should give you an idea about what I can do with this power, as that's where I got the idea from. Let me know if you want me to explain it better (assuming I'm allowed to use this power). If this power isn't okay, then I'll go with Technopathy.

Oh good, you've seen Next! That makes things easier. Before I saw the movie I thought "Seeing 2 minutes into the future? How useful can that be?" Needless to say, the movie proved me wrong. The movie was great and I loved all the different ways he was able to use his power. I'm sure it's a power that can help with fighting the Yeerks.

Nice chapter again, I thought it was interesting to show us mentioning Cassie and then sneaking into her barn!
Seeing Ken find out about his Controller brother should be interesting. I think we discussed the idea of Ken having a Controller in the family on MSN the other day. It's a great idea since Ken being able to hear the thoughts of the host and the Yeerk will create a lot of drama. Since Ken's power is called Telepathy, does that mean he would be able to send messages with his mind as well? (like thought speech but in human form)
Also, Ken's power could be used to introduce the Yeerk Pool (unless you already have an idea). Ken could have read Elfangor's mind before he died and seen/heard information about the Yeerk Pool and the Kandrona.
I'm not sure how the US school system works either, but I'm pretty sure that most of us wouldn't be at that school (due to our characters' ages)
Just a suggestion, but it might be a good idea to show everyone's POV at least once. That way you can do school, work or home life scenes from different view points. Like you said, some of our family could be Controllers, but some of the characters are old enough to have moved out. Speaking of which, you can say that my character lives on his own (if that makes it easier) since I imagine that The Gardens pays better than the zoo I work at! ;)

U.S. school system, for the uninformed:
Age: Grade: Type of School in which you'd find one:
5-6 Kindergarten Pre-School or Kindergarten
6-7 First Grade Grade School
7-8 Second Grade Grade School
8-9 Third Grade Grade School
9-10 Fourth Grade Grade School or Middle School
10-11 Fifth Grade Grade School or Middle School
11-12 Sixth Grade Grade School or Junior High
12-13 Seventh Grade Grade School or Junior High
13-14 Eighth Grade Grade School or Junor High
14-15 Freshman (9th) High School
15-16 Sophomore (10th) High School
16-17 Junior (11th) High School
17-18 Senior (12th) High School
18-22 College and/or Already Working
To simplify: Most kids go FIRST to Kindergarten, where they learn ABC's and numbers, et cetera. THEN, they go on to Grade School. In small towns, Grade School continues up through the Eighth Grade, followed by High School. In large towns, the schools are divided up, usually with K-3 in "Grade School", 4+5 in "Middle School", and 6-8 in "Junior High", after which the JH kids go directly to High School, like everyone else.
There are some variations, but this is the 'standard' system in the U.S.
Tyler and I would be considered Seniors during this story, based on the ages that we gave.

Out where I was in California, it was actually K-5 is grade school, 6-8 was middle school (also called junior high by older folk), and 9-12 was high school, and that seemed to be the standard for at least the southern half of California, don't know about the top half, and I don't know where you're setting it, so...might be something to consider.
And I started kindergarten at 4 :P And before that, preschool. There are now commercials about "oh, if you put your kids in preschool they'll be smarter" - it doesn't matter, preschool is just a glorified daycare system where they teach you how to play the kazoo.
And as an edit - I think the idea of doing chapters in other people's perspectives would be a really interesting thing to read and do, but I'm worried, considering how many of us there are, it might stretch out the story quite a bit, going over the same information a couple times maybe. But I was actually thinking of suggesting doing a couple chapters like that, with other people's p.o.v.'s.

I did know some of that, like I knew that you guys started school at 6 (we start at 4) and that you finished at 18. Poor you guys! I left school at 16 (although most of my class stayed until 18, it is optional) and did a 2 year college course.
For the purpose of the story, you can either say that I started working straight after high school, or that I did a year of college before getting the job at The Gardens. Or I guess you could say my character is still in college, do they do part time college courses in the US?

Yes, some of them do - the ones I know of, at least. You pick your own schedule, and they'll usually have part time or full-time, full-time usually being at LEAST four classes, usually five, sometimes six. So, at least in the community college I went to, you could take one or two at a time, and only be considered part-time.
EDIT AGAIN: We also have online courses, known as "distance ed" or something like that, where you can do them throughout the week at your leasure, and you submit assignments by the saturday night deadline, and only go into class for the final, so you can be full-time and only rarely go to the campus. Sorta like night courses, but you don't have to get out of your pajamas. :)

Yah, I went to Pre-School, too, but it doesn't REALLY count.
The school system that I described is used throughout all of Illinois, most of eastern Missouri, and everywhere that I've been in Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. I've been to other states, but I didn't get the chance to ask.

well like you said earlier, there are several variations, it's such a large country that there isn't really JUST one standard as to how the grades are categorized.

Well if Claire wants my character to do anything besides work at The Gardens, then a part time course or an online course would be fine. I'm actually considering taking an online course in real life (yes we have them too!) Not sure what course choices you guys have, but make it something related to working with animals if you can.

And Claire, I don't know if you're gonna do anything with mine or not, but I don't care where I work or go to school or anything...you know my major and stuff :P Lol. Feel free to improvise with me.

EDIT: Alright, this is basically the same situation, well, not really, but...When I found out my mom had a tumor, I went into my room, attacked a couple of things (I'm aggressive when I get mad), like my wall and my bed and then broke down crying.

I felt that the whole backhand thing to Rachel needed something a bit extra though. I mean, Kat is impersonating me, right? So she'd also be warping my sense of humor as well. Precognition - seeing into the future. In Mike's case, he can see a few minutes into the future.

I chose not to use the healing ability for the main characters because they can morph and heal that way.
But I may be using it later.. I can't reveal any more than that :P

1. change a piece of your own hair (or some other body part) into a simple weapon (like sword, spear, bow and arrow, but not a gun), or maybe even tools like a hammer.
2. create a dense cloud of darkness or something that can be used to hide things
say, when you say I can cancel and absorb other's abilities, do you mean just special abilities like telekinesis? Or can I also absorb natural abilities, like yeerks being able to control bodies?
oh, and are you gonna be doing any of my POV's? (suddenly I'm very addicted to this fic. my mom won't be happy...). you can ask me in PM for how I'd talk and react to certain things...

basically, you can only absorb other peoples "Special" abilities.
Say you met a guy who was a runner in the olympics, and he had telekinesis. You can't absorb his natural fast running abilities, but you would absorb the telekinesis.
I'm assuming you haven't seen X-men, but your absorption ability is much like Rogue's ability.
Peter Petrelli, from Heroes, has an ability like this, but he doesn't have to have contact with the person to absorb the ability, but you do.

I've seen a couple of episodes of X-men, and know who rogue is, but in the first episode she appears in, doesn't she absorb the natural sports abilities of some guy, and even some of his memory?

1. control animals (not just move them, but make them attack or growl or bite)
2. grow limbs (a bit different from stretch limbs. stretch limbs make your limbs longer and shorter, but you still have two legs and two arms. grow limbs, you can have more than 4 legs and arms, though why you would need four legs I don't know)
3. climb across any surface
4. make inanimate objects come to life
5. fly/levitate

Some interesting power ideas. Flying wouldn't be very useful for a morph capable character (since they can morph birds) but for someone else it would be cool.

An interesting thought. My power is based on the main character from the movie Next, who can see up to about 2 minutes in the future, but only things that happen to him or events that would affect him. However, later in the movie he is able to see occasionally see much further into the future, so maybe you could say that Mike is eventually able to sometimes see a lot more than 2 minutes into the future? Just an idea.
If we're talking about new ability ideas, then perhaps the power to manipulate the five senses? So you could temporarily make somebody blind or deaf, etc.

Actually Superman's power to shoot heat from his eyes was called heat vision. In some of the movies/TV shows, this power was much like Cyclops power, firing red laser beams. However, in Smallville they made it more accurate by having him literally emit intense heat at whatever he's looking at, causing it to melt or burst into flames.

Heres the story: Visser Three acquired a human morph who had a special ability. This human was Russell. Russell was infested, but it grew to be a problem having two Russells around. Visser Three decided to kill Russell, so Russell's Yeerk left Russell's body. In that time, somehow Russell managed to use his powers to escape. Perhaps I will make a flashback sequence sometime in the future to properly explain what happened.

Umm, about how long should it be and how frequently should I alternate PoVs and if you gave me a basic outline (what is happening, fight, conversation, epic fight; bios for the characters, very basic, nothing extravagant; who should win; if someone dies; new characters; you get the picture) that would be excelent.

claire! i can give u ideas! how bout i take over as the new evil leader, or at least become second in command, and then totally woop on at least a couple of the good guys in the guise of one of their own, so they think their own dude just pulverized them. thatd be awesome. like if i were to morf duff, and then woop on the others, and run away, when the real duff came back every1 would think he tried to kill them! (of course i wouldnt be able to mess w/the psychic kids, but still :P)

I LOVED that cartoon, and the Spider-Man cartoon that came on around the same time, made by the same people, and that sometimes crossed over with the X-Men cartoon. And of course the Batman and Superman cartoons that were on around the same time as well.
Man, the 90's was an even better time to be a superhero fan then now, lol.
