Excellent job, you guys. Very nice. Goom is right though, maybe the image could change to have something vaguely to do with what's being said? That would probably be a lot of look though.

They're audiobooks. I think one image is just fine. It took a good 9 hour to get the timing done for this chapter, never mind the amount of time it took for our director to do his job, and for our actors to record. I think it's fine with just one image, it's not supposed to be visual by any means. :)

Yes, besides, I had to use somebody else's computer to put the video together and put it on youtube, so I couldn't really save a lot of images

Actually it didn't feel like it took any time at all for me to do my bit :P but then again I haven't been doing this all year like some. Now we move on to part two.

I think the collaborative effort of everyone making this audiobook a) takes a lot of time and effort, at least on the whole, and b) shouldn't need images that say flash bang boom!...otherwise this would be the RAF Animorphs Movie project.

the changes to the audio seem to work well, i definitely sound much more like a 13 year old than the original recordings did lol
hopefully this gets this whole dang project off the ground! cant wait!
and i agree the video doesnt need much flash, im not looking at the picture right now as im listening

I'm sure she will be glad to hear this. I'm just directing and even I think it's awesome people think it's cool we are doing this. However it's even better in my mind that people think we are actually good at what we are doing.

So I haven't checked in for a couple of days, but uh hows chapter 2 coming along?

Yeah, I haven't gotten any PM updates in weeks, so just checking to see if there's any current work required of me at the moment? I don't want people getting mad that I haven't done anything in awhile, lol

Don't worry! We'll PM as necessary if we're missing parts. I think the thought right now is putting out about one chapter/month for the time being. Until we get things running a little more smoothly, that seems like a reasonable goal.

Hmmm....I'm hoping we can move a bit faster than that, but definitely keep it steady. The last thing we want to do is build up expectations we can't meet.
On that subject, does anyone want to time chapter 2? It will mostly be just copyediting, seeing as Rachel is the only character.

Okay guys I have a proposal for you. I have done a few calculations and I have thought of a fairly simple way to make it so that this audio book doesn't take 3.6 years to finish (which currently is when it's scheduled to finish). If we get four timers (one being Jess naturally) and we could probably get a few of the current actors and we assign a chapter to get done every two weeks or so.
By doing this each timer will have 11 chapters to time on their own, but they will only have to time a single chapter once every eight weeks. This would allow us to finish the book by week 36 of next year (not sure what month that is).
One thing I do realize is that some people are either in school or working full time and we should always encourage people to put those things first rather than doing poorly in something because we wanted them to get an audio book done instead.
Anyways that is my proposal. Naturally a vote is in order by those who are working on the book and of course by those in charge of this whole thing. Also if we do this we need to make sure we people will actually sign up to be timers so keep that in mind when voting.
So what do you guys say ?

I probably wouldn't be able to. My personal life takes up far too much time these days, hence why I'm hardly on the site recently. Also, was there really a need to post that in here AND send a PM with the exact same thing in it?

Since there's now a Youtube page, I was thinking that in the future, once we have more content posted on there, we can also do kind of like a 'Special Features' thing where we have some bloopers as well as interviews with the people involved and all that stuff.
Also, I think we should put 'Animorphs' some place in the title and description of the videos on Youtube so then when people do a search for 'Animorphs', they will be among the? things that pops up. As of right now it just says 'RAF' and 'Megamorphs' but not actually 'Animorphs' anywhere, therefore it won't show up at all if someone was to search youtube for Animorphs-related stuff.

I only sent pm's because I thought it would save time instead of everybody just discovering my post randomly at any given time. I do agree with you on the youtube suggestion though.

I don't know the first thing about timing and likely will not have the time myself to do it. However, if you need me to step in over the summer months I'd be more than happy to.
I'm mostly concerning myself with making sure my recordings are in on time (which they have been). I don't know exactly what goes into post-editing.
I would like there to be more than one chapter put out a month, eventually, but right now I think everyone is still getting into the swing of how everything works. It isn't just a matter of recording the lines and posting them. More goes into it. So....yeah...idk if that was remotely helpful, but I don't think it matters. I'm just a lowly voice actor. Tell me to read, and I read. That's what I do. :P

What program do you use to edit .flac? Like when a timer does what they do to edit it all together into one file, what program would they use for that?

Audacity should be able to import FLAC. If not, the FLAC Frontend can decode to .wav, then use Audacity

Still wet around the fingertips..more like flooded out! Couldn't even find where to make my comment. This is all soo exciting! A wholesome respite from earthquakes, tsunamis, recessions, gender based violence, all types of crime and corruption not to mention wars and environment crises!! Ahhh a breath of fresh air. My only question...why did it take me so long to discover it. Must be the generation thing (over 50 yrs old!)

I'd loved the acting of you guys and the syncronism was pretty nice. 8)
Though I'd like to make a few sugestions:
1)Cut off the "Cassie said"/"Marco said" thing. We can hear the voices, so i think there's no need to make the book literally. It's another media so it should work differently.
2)Maybe some kind of volume of sound change to separate the narration from the dialogs would be nice. Sometimes is difficult to understand if the Storyteller is talking to you or to the other characters.

But that's was just my opinion. =D

Hoo boy. Trust me, we've had this debate.
The final decision was unabridged means unabridged. That way there's no question as to what are acceptable changes and what are not. It makes it easier for us all, and quicker for the actors, because they don't need to wait for someone to decide what they are saying.
Now can someone please time chapter 2?

What's necessary? Just to put together the pieces?

That and ensuring that volumes are the same, any background noise is edited out,timing the different parts together to ensure that the spacing between lines is right, etc.
If it's not done by next friday, I'll time it next weekend.

It shouldn't be too difficult to time Chapter Two, if anyone is scared off by that. There's only one speaker/narrator the entire time, so it mostly should be cutting out background noise and removing small errors.

So, um... Apparently I DIDN'T have the day off today, as I originally thought. I'm not going to have time to get to this until Monday, so if someone else wants to give it a shot, go ahead. If it's still not done by Monday, then I'll do it.

Not to sound, uh, pushy or anything, but Chapter Two has been recorded since December. How's the timing going? I'd be happy to do it myself if you want, but I'd need some instruction as I've never done anything like that before.

Someone else is probably going to have to do this. I've barely had a minute to myself lately, and when I do the last thing I want to do is work more. *headdesk* I'm sorry. I'm going on vacation on April 16th for a week, and after that I'll probably be good for audiobooks again, but until then I doubt I'll find the time.

Yeah. Things have been hectic for me too. Maybe tomorrow night I'll have some time. I'm trying, but working full time and dealing with more than my fair share of **** being rained down on me has lead to me not having much time to do anything.
