In a previous post I put forth the idea that if another book were to be written, not questioning the order in the series or the circumstances of its publication, the book would be a deal with the devil of sorts. What I mean by this is that the book has to give us what we would like, but has something horrible in it. The way I see this happening would be K.A. writing a whole book by David's perspective and bashing all the animorphs. What do you think the price of a new book from a fans perspective is?
-
A book from David's PoV could be interesting. I'm not sure it would fit into the series that well though, considering how it ended.
At first when I saw the subject, I thought you were going to say something about a book that used a Faustian bargain as the plot point. That would be so sick. 8D

yeah true what would you sell your soul for?
-
Well, now that I think about it #48 was kind of like that, except Rachel didn't actually go through with it.
-
maybe the others wouldn't be as strong as Rachel, though, to resist. Interesting concept.
-
Tobias makes a deal with Crayak or something, Jake for Rachel.
-
would the animorphs betray each on just the right conditions?
-
they do a few times
Cassie betrays them all in 19, and then again in 50
Ax betrays them in 18 and 38
Jake kinda in 53
i know you mean kinda more like david tho, and in that sense id say definately not
-
they are a pretty tight group. and i believe for the most part they would not give in their friends...but i gues it depends on how well they read each other,
-
I don't think Tobias would give Jake to Crayak in return for Rachel. He's just...got too much dignity and ethics for that.
And Rachel would never forgive him for it. :P
-
yeah, i was thniking that. Tobias would know what rachel would want...and so it would come down to either his selfishness (wanting rachel) or his love (giving rachel what she would want even if it meant giving her up)
-
The only person who's life/soul I could see Tobias trading is his own.
-
yeah, he would wouldn't he?
-
I certainly think so. He's shown several times that his own soul means nothing to him. He's got as many moral qualms as Cassie does (and don't get me started on her) but he does what has to be done anyway. Just look at the oatmeal incident in book 17. He's as morally against using chemical warfare as Cassie is, but he also knows that victory comes at any price, even if that price is his own soul.
-
i wonder if it's because he's that selfless and loving...or if sometimes he's just that pitiful...
-
Definitely Selfless Azguard.
-
what a guy. though at times, I still understand him at all.
-
you still understand him at all? Do explain.
-
oops.
i meant,
i still don't understand him at all.

That description actually reminds me more of Jake...but I guess maybe it could apply to Tobias too.
I dunno, Jake always seemed the most selfless to me.

i felt that tobias had some sort of selfishness to him because he never really got what he wanted out of life.
-
Then again, he did have a pretty messed up life. There's plenty of people (including myself) that have suffered nowhere near as much, and still have that so called selfish trait. Then again, who on this planet isn't at least a little selfish? It's just some people are more so than others, but I think on same basic level we're all a little on the selfish side at times. It's normal I think. Just being TOO selfish is not good.
-
yeah. so how selfish would Tobias be? or..how smart was he?
-

im going out on a limb here but tobias wasn't really all that smart given that in the first book, he could have easlily demorphed and posed a controller before morphing and escaping (unless he wanted to be a hawk, which then i would place his intellence higher above everybody else)
it also depends on how much he wants rachel back and what he is willing to do to get it.
-
yeah, cuz he's never had good stuff in his life. maybe he'd get the idea that it was his time you know? and i think people have breaking points...

MM4: Jake agrees to the Drode's offer to change history so that Jake et al did not become Animorphs!
