Anyone seen bad/uncomfortable summaries people do for various stories? Let's do them for Animorphs! Whether it's the whole series or a single book. For example:
A geeky teenage gamer plays chess with Sauron for control of the universe.
-
-Five kids try to juggle schoolwork with extracurricular activities.
-One alien's lifelong quest to consume every food ever made.
-Six morphing superheroes shift into battle forms to fight bad guys. Wait, it's not Power Rangers, I swear!
-A hostile alien takeover is temporarily obstructed by vast quantities of mood-altering oatmeal.
This is fun! :D And is it just me, or is anybody else picturing newspaper headlines when they think about summaries like these?
-
2 volumes chronicling the astounding and earthshattering battles against the mighty Helmacron Invasion... and the 50+ filler books spaced around them.
Some Blind Chick masquerades (poorly) as the older version of the totally awesome and kickass heroine from an earlier book. Her son clearly notices and pretends she doesn't exist later.
-
Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
-
A kids life is turned upside down when he discovers an alien artifact. Soon after, he starts being pursued by various aliens and a a group of shape-shifting humans all after the technology. Will he get out of this with his mind and body intact?

From zero space to cyber space, a journey of a thousand miles to face their latest enemy could be delayed if Tobias gets too pooped.
-
5 Kids disobey their parents one time and the world literally ends.
The Sharing, a humanitarian, community outreach organization, is continuously vandalized by a group of teenagers.
Kevin James is a down on his luck zookeeper who just can't seem to keep kids from jumping into cages with wild animals.
And how I describe animorphs when I want someone to read it: "It's meant for kids but it's full of really bloody battles between tigers and gorillas and aliens. Throats being ripped out, guts being held in, pretty graphic stuff."
-

-

-Grades drop, alien invasion reducing study time is a possible explanation.
-an unfortunate discovery: when romeo and juliet are not same species, death is not even necessary to cause greif.
-mature honorable honest leader, sherlock resembling joker, shopping impaired tree hugger, partly psycho semi vegetarian undercover samuri warrior alligator generator, and bird, defend earth.

I don't rememer repeating any posts in this thread.

I don't mean repeating posts. I mean posting right after your last post. Here you have three post consecutively under each other. That's double/triple posting.
Anyway 25: The (Almost) Holiday Special
13: Tobias! Back in Action: The Great Hork Bajir Rescue
35: The Reaction, This Time Staring Marco

The Invasion: Probable member of the Blue Man Group tells children to fight scary things by touching a box.

I note that my posts were each spaced about a day apart. They weren't following each other by minutes. I had therefore assumed that my posts were kosher.
What do I do if I post to a thread, then no one else posts for several days? Do I just sit there, paralized?

From my understanding of the rules, Yes. But if you want exact conformation, you should probably ask a moderator.

Both Alternamorphs
Ghostwriter: What? A CYOA is supposed to be more than just a second-person story with a few "You die, the end"s tacked on for wrong choices? Well, today I learned.
Sadly, that's a pretty accurate summary.
The whole series: Earth is being invaded by a bumbling idiot with no grasp on the concept of subtlety and is constantly terrorized by a small group of teenagers.
#28: An evil alien overlord who has absolutely no qualms about killing his subordinates is defeated by monkeys throwing poop.
#9: An evil alien overlord who has absolutely no qualms about killing his subordinates is defeated by skunks.
#17: The Yeerks go batty over oatmeal!
. . . Yeah, I had to throw a bad pun in there somewhere.
-
I tried to write a limerick about not understanding the pun.
I tried to write a pun about writing a limerick about not understanding the pun.
I tried to write a joke about trying to write a pun about trying to write a limerick about not understanding the pun.
I gave up.
The rest of that was pretty funny, though!
#54: The Beginning:
While the readers expected heart attacks because of all the action, they actually get a book that's so depressing that it rips out your heart, chews it up, spits it out, and leaves you to try to pick all the pieces back up.
And somehow, it's awesome.
-
#17: The Yeerks go batty over oatmeal!
. . . Yeah, I had to throw a bad pun in there somewhere.
That pun caused me to instantly face palm. Involuntary reaction
-
Megamorphs 1: Marco and Ax play sophmoric practical joke, house destroyed.

I fail to see the joke in "Everyone died. The end".

#2: Girl sneaks into a house to spy on a dude.
-
#44: Girl sneaks onto a plane, cheats on boyfriend, becomes a kangaroo and kicks butt.
When did Cassie cheat on Jake? (I don't recall ANY Animorphs having sex with ANYONE!).
-
Cheating is not just sexual infidelity. It's secretly dating two different people.
And Cassie didn't exactly cheat on Jake. I was exaggerating her relationship with that Australian kid.
-

-
Book 11: I forget what happened in this one.
Its name is "the forgotten" and it's easily the least memorable book. Hehe.
-
Jungle... time travel... ants eating Rachel alive... how is that not memorable?
-
That scene was actually pretty memorable. Other than that, I'd say the book is pretty much filler.
-
Book 12: Crocodile gets crush on male actor.
Book 23: Unexpected person tells hawk: "I Am Your Father!".
Book 37: Kids crash plane into skyscraper.

I maintain my belief that 'Hawkward' is a better name than Robias.
-
22: Davel Ship Book
