Title: General Animorph Comments
Post by: Tim Bruening on October 21, 2013, 10:53:55 PM
When Ax is in human morph, he goes nuts over food.  Does Visser 3 have the same problem when he's in human morph?  Does he direct his minions to be on the lookout for humans going nuts over food?

The Capture: Ax emulates Jake for three days, and goes nuts over food.  Why didn't that make Tom suspicious?

The Alien: Ax pretends to be Jake's cousin Phillip, and goes to school.  Shouldn't that make Tom suspicious, since he would know that Jake doesn't have a cousin named Phillip?

Suggestions for Visser 3: Have his minions infiltrate the staffs of all food vendors so as to watch out for people going nuts over food.

Infiltrate the staffs of all animal handling facilities (such as "The Gardens" and "The Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic" so as to catch Andalites trying to acquire new morphs.  Cassie's parents would make excellent Controllers for that purpose!

Suggestion for Animorphs: Have the free Hork-Bajir (in existence from book 13 on forward) rescue Human-Controllers.  Prime targets would be the high ranking Controllers such as Jake's brother Tom!

Even better: the Animorphs kidnap a Controller, replace them with a Chee, who impersonates them for three days while the Yeerk starves. Once the Controller is free, have the Chee fake their death, so that no-one looks for the Controller afterwards. (Also makes the Animorphs appear more like Andalites, if they don't just kill Hork-Bajir and Taxxons). Then train former Controller if they want to fight (or give them morphing powers), or send them to live with the Chee or Hork-Bajir if they don't. Seriously Animorphs. You have an entire race of robots who can impersonate anyone and have already infiltrated the Yeerk command, but you don't use them because they can't fight.

Could. Not. Work. Nope, don't buy it. Because you have to fake there death for people too, not just controllers.
You'd have to get the host's family, any close friends or coworkers during the starvation process keep them under wraps too; the Yeerks are going to go looking if their own keep dying off in "accidents". And keeping folks under cover like that, maybe for years. Their not dogs, they won't want to stay in the Chee's park eternally.
You might get one or two with it, but nothing like what would make the effort work

Doubt it. He doesn't care about humans, and the Ax food response is an Andalite thing-V3's tasted stuff as a Yeerk, even as a Hork-Bajir, not as big a deal

Tom and Jake don't go to the same school, and I doubt Chapman's reporting everything Jake does to Tom; especially since Yeerks are dying at that time

Tom and Chapman are both high-ranking Controllers.  Wouldn't Chapman have gotten Tom to provide him with details about Tom's family (in case Andalites got the idea of infiltrating Tom's family)?

Tom was not a high ranking controller in book 8. The Yeerk who'd been in him and promoted was assigned to the governor, ended up in Jake, and died in book 6. The other Yeerk took months if not years to get up the ladder.

According to Book 10, the Chee can keep Yeerks alive and imprisoned in their heads!  The Animorphs could kidnap Tom, force Tom's Yeerk to transfer to a Chee, and have that Chee emulate Tom for a few weeks or months while the real Tom hides with the free Hork-Bajir.

Wouldn't starving a Yeerk to death kinda violate the Chee's programming?

As per Book 10, the Chee would keep the Yeerk alive in its head, generating the Kandrona radiation it needs!

This is basically a combination of TRAT and the stickied Simple Animorphs Questions thread. Tim is being spammy again.
