Has anyone ever compiled a time line for Animorphs? I know we got official ages in one of the end game books, but I can't remember if we ever got years. I'm writing a fic set way in the future, and I was originally going to use the release date of the last book as the year the remaining Animorphs stole the Yeerk ship to go find Ax, but I was wondering if anyone had ever compiled anything more precise, or if there's a more fan-accepted timeline or anything like that.

I believe the war was started thirty years before the series starts, which is about the mid nineties. Andalite Chronicles and Visser, probably gives the best idea of a timeline of things. The war lasts three years. The Anis start at thirteen.

Hork-Bajir Chronicles takes place in 1966.

Anijen compiled this masterpiece (http://animorphsforum.com/index.php?topic=427.msg269700#msg269700) a while back, and I've taken it as my canon ever since, so that's a good place to start.
I've never seen a very specific timeline for the series proper, but if you're going by Anijen's timeline and the information we're given in The Beginning, the war must have ended before the release of the final book. That is, the series started in 1996, and we're told in #54 that it's taken about three years, which would put the end date somewhere in 1999 or early 2000.
There's a jump of "one year later" in #54 that can then fall somewhere in 2000 or early 2001, but May (the publication month of #54) might be pushing it. Depending on how loose you want to get with your times there and how strictly you want to stick to that timeline, of course. Since May 2001 can be made to fall awfully close to the events actually taking place in #54, you probably can't go wrong by setting it as the date of either
The stealing of the Yeerk ship or the encounter with The One.
*shrug* Might be helpful info, should you choose to use it.

Excelent! That's exactly what I needed.

There's also a two years later jump in 54, and they spend "many months" looking before actually finding the ship the ship, so the end end of the series is probably...2003 ish
