Title: Hey, everyone!
Post by: Freedom Flyer on September 10, 2012, 08:52:28 AM
Hi!
Okay, so I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from Australia and am a very huge Animorphs fan. I found this forum and I'm delighted to see so many fans, and counting! Animorphs means so much to me and I've been a fan since I first picked up the book so many years ago.

I haven't read all the books yet, as there was a mess up with my subscription which resulted in me being cut off at book #59. With the re-releases of the books, I do plan on reading the series again (when I find the time!) and have begun collecting the new versions of the books as my current older ones are...well, mum packed them somewhere and we haven't been daring enough to get the box out of the shed again.

I run a text-based role-playing game called "Animorphs AU RPG" Yeah, original title, I know *rolls eyes*. Anyway, I would love it if everyone could check it out and maybe join? The only recognisable characters are Principal Chapman, Visser Three, and Ax. It's otherwise very unique and there's even a "Visual Morph" feature where your character literally morphs into one of the DNA's he/she has acquired.

I'm really happy to be here and I'd love to get to know everyone. So please, feel free to reply and ask me any questions or share some comments because I'd love to make new friends and mingle with fellow Animorphs fans!! :D

Hey, you can just call me Cloak.  Everyone else does.  Probably should've mentioned that previously . . . man, where's my head today?

;D Okay, Cloak. Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm so glad I found this place where I can talk to others who appreciate the awesomeness of Animorphs.

Hello and welcome to the forum!  I'm DinosaurNothlit, which usually gets shortened to DN or Dino.  You're from Australia, huh?  You're in good company, then!  We've got quite a few members down under.

Wait, you got cut off at #59?  What subscription was this and where could I get it?  What were the books after #54 like?

Lol, j/k (sorry, I realize I probably shouldn't make fun of typos like that, but I always get excited when I see a potentially humorous one).

Anyway, it's nice to meet you!  Hope you enjoy your stay.

Hey, DN. Yup, I'm from Australia. And cool, it's nice to know I'm not the only one around here. I was rather pleased when I saw the Animorphs book where Cassie went to Australia and morphed a kangaroo. :D

Oh, gosh, lol! Yeah I always think it's 59. And yes, you shouldn't make fun of those typos :P. I meant #39 The one with Cassie on the front morphing into an...Ox? No, Buffalo, right?
Eh, anyway she had the blue cube with her on the back of the truck or something
. And yes, clearly it has been so long since I have actually read the books that I now refer to them by their covers. I used to know all the name and everything *ashamed* I really need to go back and read them all again, and maybe actually finish the series too!

Thanks, it's nice to meet you too. I love it here already. Hey, what's everyone's favourite character? Mine is Tobias, though Cassie is close at second.
I had a hard time reading the book where a girl tortures Tobias. I'm always most eager to read the ones he narrates, though. I was so glad when he got his morphing ability back! He is such an interesting character, and his background too.
I also really like Elfangor. I love the Andalite megamorphs book, which I read for the first time a few months ago. I remember reading the Hork-Bajir one and not liking it, as in it was mostly boring. It's been so long though, so I might give it a go again.

Yep, Cassie morphing a buffalo was #39.  But hey, there's no shame in not having that memorized, in fact, it's a testament to how little of a life I have that I do.  :P

Tobias is my favorite, too!  At least, out of the Animorphs proper.  Dak Hamee beats him out if minor characters are considered.  Possibly the Ellimist as well.  Funny thing is, I actually loved the book where
he was tortured
because it provided so much character development and backstory.

Yes, definitely, you should give the Hork-Bajir Chronicles another go.  It was one of my favorite books in the series, if not my favorite of all of them.  Heck, that book was the dominant reason I liked the movie Avatar as much as I did, because the plot was so similar that I could just imagine the Navi as Hork-Bajir.  :kitty:

Hey Freedom!

If you like rps, please check out the rp board! We'd love to see you there! The Galaxy's Edge Space Bar (GESB) is our longest running rp, but there are a few different ones to choose from. I'll check yours out as well. :)

Welcome to RAF. :) We have several Australians around here (some of which I met during my world trip last year) and it's always nice to have new members regardless of whether or not they've finished the series. When I first joined I was one of the few who had actually read them all, lol.

You seem really cool. Hope you stay here, you will fit right in! The name is Underseen.

I just tried out your website and it was too difficult for me, I am guessing you were Mel. I am not the smartest person when it comes to websites so I got easily lost. :p

I used to have it all memorised, though. Even the ones I hadn't read, though not as strongly. Oh yay, another Tobias fan! :D I like Toby Hamee. I still have mixed feelings about the Ellimist. And I agree, I loved the book too despite what happened. Well, already I probably will give the Hork Bajir Chronicals another read. I remember the gist of it, I just recall not liking it much. The plot I did, but the book itself felt so long and eh *shrugs*. I'll try again when I go back to reading the series.

Terenia
Hi! Yeah I'll check it out. Thanks!

Gaz
Nice to meet you too!

Phoenix004
Thank you. Oh nice, that's cool. Where else did you go on your world trip? That sounds like a lot of fun. Yeah, I've been a huge fan for so long I just haven't been able to own all the books yet, but I certainly plan to! Haha, really? Cool.

Underseen
Aw, thanks *blush* I dunno if I'm cool, but I am glad to meet everyone and love Animorphs so *shrugs*. I plan on staying here for as long as I can, it's a really awesome place.

Thanks for giving my website a look, though it may look difficult it's really rather simple. I assure you, I have members and players who know a bit about Animorphs and others who haven't ever heard of it until now. The role-playing-game works so anyone can join and play, plus the members learn along with the characters, so everything you need to know to play will be taught to you as you go along.

And if you ever get lost, then just let me know and I'll help you out. I really don't mind, but I'd love to have more fans from here on the site as so far most of the members have limited to no prior knowledge. Yeah, I'm Mel. :P

If you start a topic in Animorphs Roleplaying I would play, but I rather not go anywhere else besides here for comfort reasons, but the website is well made.

Hello there!

Welcome to the board. I see you've already been welcomed so I won't say anything else that hasn't been said already.

And oh... Hunter. Is that the other aussie people's been telling me about?

And glad to see another aussie around. I'm aussie too!

Thanks, I'm not sure if I'm ready to give the RPG board a try yet. I usually prefer website ones than a board one, I dunno it's just something I'm familiar with. I'll probably give it a try, just not yet. So yeah, I totally understand about the comfort and such. Thanks for checking it out though :)

Hunter
Hi! lol. Oh sure, there's no army at all *shifty eyes*. Thanks, nice to meet you!

Gankhruun
Heya. Heh. Oh you're aussie too? Yay for us! :P

Spent a couple of days in Hong Kong on the way to Australia (where I stayed for 7 weeks) then spent 5 weeks in America. It was awesome :)
