Title: Problem with the Relaunch Covers...
Post by: TobiasMasonPark on May 02, 2012, 07:08:35 PM

This isn't a complaint. I have no major issues with the new covers. But I was in bed the other night, and thinking: after The Change, the Tobias covers have the hawk morphing into an animal, with the human Tobias faded in the background. A great concept.

How are they gonna do it for the new covers? Are they just gonna have the hawk morphing from books 23 onward, or are they gonna use the Tobias model? If the former, then I see no point in hiring a kid to stand in for the character after Book 13.

Just something I was wondering about. Any thoughts?

Well, you know how behind the morphing thingymajig, there's this background with like genetic letters and feather/fur/whatever? Maybe it'll be there. Or maybe just on the morphing thing. Or maybe they're going to ditch that idea.

Lets just see if they even reprint past the 8 books first.

Personally, I would prefer to have just hawk-animal. I thought the idea of having a faded Tobias on the previous covers was interesting, it showed human Tobias was still in there, but all the same I always thought, why was he there? He looked kind of out of place...  :-\

Who knows if they'll go that far.
Scholastic released the first two books, and when the sales were ok, they went ahead up to book 8, which is coming out in September. As far as I know, Wikipedia or Seerowpedia has confirmed that Scholastic will go up to book 11 - The Forgotten.

and although this is unlikely, it would be kind of cool if we saw the human become the hawk, and then the hawk becoming the rabbit (for book 23, seeing as how book 13 might as well be the reverse of book 3 if it's the same model and the hawk looks the same)
