This is a topic that was being debated at length in another forum and I couldn't help thinking about what an animorphs crowd would have to say about it lol
So a team of Bull, Lion, and Grizzly bear vs a team of Rhino, gator, and gorilla
Which team wins?
-
haven't seen you around in a while! how's it been? :)
uh.. i'll say the latter, though it's pretty close.
-
Whats up GOOM! Good to be back man how you been?
Yea I keep trying to defend team 1 but the more I think about it that rhino is just gonna demolish everyone lol
-
rhino > bull
gator ~ lion (depends on terrain)
gorilla < grizzly (subjective)
-
Well theres your problem, you can't think even matchups you have to think a little strategy. Obviously the bull couldnt take the rhino but maybe the lion could. And then the bull could take the gorilla and the bear would destroy the gator. It all depends how its played.

... and then maybe the Rhino tramples the gator by accident, and the bull gores the lion while it's trying to get the rhino, and then the gorilla realizes "why the heck am I here?!" and leaves, while the grizzly bear goes after the bull, and the...
:dull:
yeah, that could go on for a while. Much wild speculation. :P
this is hard for me to vote on. See, there's a bear in the first team, but then again, it's a grizzly... :-\ I don't know if I really wanna root for a grizzly.

OMG DUFF YOU'RE BACK!!!!
Bull VS Rhino = Rhino win
Lion VS Gator = Depends on the terrain, if there's no water around I think the Lion would win
Gorilla VS Grizzly = That's a tough one too but I think the Grizzly has a stronger defense
But terrain can definitely play a huge part in who wins the battle. I remember watching a Polar Bear and Walrus go at it on Animal Planet. The bear was winning at first but then their fight moved into the water and then it was all downhill from there for Mr. Bear.

It's a simulation but apparently it's accurate

Blue, no, Animal Face off is NOT an accurate show.
They had an elephant versus a rhino once, and the elephant apparently won because of its 'superior intelligence.' So they had the right creature winning for the wrong reason (the elephant wins because it's BIGGER, duh). And then there was a crocodile and a shark, and the crocodile bit the shark at least three times, but the instant the shark bit the crocodile, the crocodile died. And the only reason the shark was able to bite the croc at all was because the croc needed to surface to breathe (which shouldn't even have been an issue, since those things can hold their breath for HOURS). And then there was a lion versus tiger episode where they spent about half the episode comparing stats like weight and strength and bite strength and the tiger won every single category but then they decided the lion should win because its mane protects its neck (which was the one variable they never tested). So yeah, that show is full of BS. I don't know why I keep watching it.
Anyway, as for the matchups:
I don't know why everyone keeps saying that the gorilla even stands a chance against the grizzly. Marco notwithstanding, gorillas don't really seem all THAT badass. All they have going for them is strength, which grizzlies have more of, plus grizzlies have teeth and claws too.
And I'm going to try and work out which animals would actually fight each other if this actually happened. Okay, go!
The lion would be most likely to attack either the rhino or the gorilla to start the fight, since those are its natural prey. It's probably going to go for the gorilla, since that's the easier target. LION WIN, GORILLA LOSS.
At this point the rhino would get pissed off and charge. It would probably go for a smell that it recognized as a dangerous one, which would be the lion. RHINO WIN, LION LOSS.
I'm assuming there's something in place to keep animals from attacking their own teammates? If not, the grizzly would probably attack the bull (which could be potentially seen as prey) or the lion (potential competition), and I think it would probably win either fight. Buuuut I'm going to assume it can't do that, so I'll say that it would be more likely to attack the gator, since it's smaller than the rhino. Unless they are in water, GRIZZLY WIN, GATOR LOSS.
At this point, the bull would charge the rhino. Or maybe the rhino would charge the bull. It doesn't really matter. They're about evenly matched, I think, but it doesn't even matter who wins the fight, because even if the rhino wins at this point, it will be very badly injured, and the grizzly would be able to able to finish it off. Alternately, if the rhino and grizzly duke it out, the rhino would be so badly injured from the run-in with the grizzly that the bull would be able to finish it off. GRIZZLY/BULL WIN, RHINO LOSS.
WIN FOR TEAM BULL/LION/GRIZZLY BEAR

Yeah, I just got done watching the other face off's on youtube. Really inaccurate

I say rhino gator and grizzly. The rihno is a tank and once it charges the worst damage that could be inflicted would be a scratch on the side. And if it eve glanced off any opponents they'd brake some bones. The alligators massive jaws would keep it as a defence. If anyone needed to retreat the alligator would cover it because of the risks of being bitten. And the grizzly is.......rachel.... ......

second option sounds stronger. :P

Honestly I don't think the bull, grizzly, or lion could take on a Rhino. Not single handedly, anyway. Then he has a gator as a team mate? The Gorilla could probably handle the bull, and maybe the lion. Not sure about that Grizzly.
That's my opinion at first glance.

Which species of alligator/crocodile it is changes the game immensely.
But if it's anything from a Nile to a Saltwater, I'll have to go with R/G/G. All of them are stronger than any of the other three. A lot of people like to think that the Croc/Gator's main weapon is it's jaws. Actually, it's weapon of choice is that huge, sweeping tail. That thing can break bones like you can break a toothpick. SNAP! The bull's legs are a great target for that.
The rhino would definitely maul a grizzly. The grizzly's claws would be a danger, but I'm pretty sure a rhino could avoid those pretty easily, and head-long charge into the lion.
And if the gorilla went up against a Lion? Psh...fat chance. Those huge arms could snap it's back, tear it's legs off, crush it's head.
I go with Rhino/Gator/Gorilla.
