Title: I recorded myself reading book 27, click here to hear it.

Yesterday (Monday), I recorded myself reading from (and doing voices for) a section from book 27, The Exposed. I had a lot of fun doing the Drode's voice, and Visser Three's (Alloran's) voice too.

Please listen/watch and tell me what you think! I gave full credits to all of the artists I borrowed art from!

(And do read the video description at YouTube for more information!)

Over all it's pretty good, especially the voices, but you're reading just a tad bit too quickly for it to be an audiobook. Most audiobooks are purposely read at a bit of a slower pace so the words don't run together and are more easily digestible. Even here it's not like it's TOO TOO fast or anything, but just a fraction too fast. Slow it down just a tad and it'd be perfect. Best thing to do is listen to a few audiobook samples to see what I mean.

But over all you have an excellent reading voice and an excellent range of various character pitches and such.

I think next time, I'll read the Drode passages from Megamorphs #3, and when I do that, I'll take your advice at reading slower. Thanks!

(If you could, would you also make that comment on my video at YouTube, for the benefit of those not on RAF? I'll reply there, too. Thanks again in advance!)

I posted what I could. My entire comment was too long, so I had to leave off the last few sentences.

You can always say (cont'd...) or something like that, and then finish your thought in a second comment.

Your Drode voice is great, very irritating just like I imagined him being, lol. Your Visser Three and Pemalite Ship voices were good too. I do agree that your reading speed is just slightly faster than it should be for an audio book, but besides that nice work.

Good job at making the Drode sound annoying, and all your other voices were great too. I do have one question. Was the first picture of the Drode an actual representation of it, or did you just find a picture that pretty much fit the description of it?

The drawings of the Drode, and the second drawing of Crayak, were done by Expression on deviantART, as seen here: http://expression.deviantart.com/art/The-Enemies-of-the-Animorphs-158517893 (http://expression.deviantart.com/art/The-Enemies-of-the-Animorphs-158517893)

personally, the slow reading of audiobooks frustrates me because i'm such a fast reader, so I like your pace  ;D good job!

Has nothing to do with being a fast or slow reader. It has everything to do with words running together and not always being able to understand what's being said/not having the time to process what you CAN hear is being said, when the audiobook is going too quickly.

How's this? Is this a good reading speed?

I tried reading slower, but like always, I made some pronunciation slip-ups.

Yeah, that's the perfect speed, IMO.

You're great, dude. Drode's voice is PERFECT.
