Title: Ray Gun Sound Effects
Post by: Darth Zakryn on April 16, 2011, 07:51:14 PM
Ok, recently rewatching certain science-fiction franchises, I can safely come to say that the (written!) sound effects for Dracon beams were inspired by Independence Day lasers. Listen to it, and you'll SEE that they have a distinctly TSEEEW! TSEEEW! Dracon-like sound to them. Also, shredders sound like thus: TSSAPPP! TSSAPPP! which to me sounds like a phaser. So, ideas? Opinions? Anyone care to shoot my theory down? I believe this makes the most sense because Dracons were essentially modified shredders, with different mechanisms.

Of course, that's only just my opinion. >:D

All guns make a "bang bang" sound, right? I guess it's the same with lasers.

If it helps, I just meant the closest sound to them we've heard in sci-fi are the ID4 lasers (Dracons) and TNG phasers (Shredders). BTW, the fact that the (written!) sound effects of the shredder sounds like phasers only reinforces my belief that KA based her Andalites on the Federation. ;D
