okay, i was checking around on line for any signs of a 55 after i read 54, because i hated the ending and i found this one site. Download the original ending, it finally puts worried fan minds at rest.

just read it. It was ok, but it had some dumb moments. Talking in space for instance really couldn't happen. Overall though it wasn't bad it just wasn't quite right either. It shouldn't have touched upon whether their was an afterlife in my opinion and left that up to being a mystery although I do like the idea of Rachel and a certain someone chatting it up in the afterlife.
The bits explaining how everyone's life had been going after the war was fairly tedious also. The rest was pretty good though for a fan-fic so I'd still suggest reading it.

but if it wasn't touched upon, the book would have been a lot shorter. at least sometried. and i agree with the space thing, i thought it was weird also
