Yeah, yeah it did :o But if you keep reading, he answers quite a few questions. Smart kid! I hope he does well and stays happy doing what he loves.
Makes me wonder whether homeschooling might not be a bad way to go...although I think the structure and the social aspect of school is important.
I'm twice his age and I've never even heard of reddit! XD So good for him, being so proactive. I figure if this is what makes him happy then all the people who are all like "duhh you're 13, go out and play" don't understand that not every kid is the same. At least he does seem to have something of a social life.
And technically Jake did join RAF a while back, I don't think he posts or lurks much, though.

I am totally AGAINST homeschooling, only because about 70% of homeschooled kids I've met or seen on TV(I've met quite a few actually) are socially awkward, judge kids that go to public school and don't see anything wrong with not having any friends. They're smart as all hell but they just don't know how to interact with people. Not all homeschooled kids though, I've met some that are totally normal. This kid seems like he has his head on straight though. Plus school is so fun once you get past all the boring stuff, especially High School, I'd never deprive my kids of that kind of experience

i did homeschool for a year (5th grade) and liked it a lot. (i started right after my major seizure episodes first occurred)
my mom (former teacher) taught me subjects one or two grade levels ahead; it was nice to go at a better pace. i remember doing 8th grade math in there.
i still played with friends, and it didn't appear to impair my social life.
the only thing i didn't like was the disappointment when i had to go back to the public school system. i guess i was spoiled for that year. ::)

Like I said, there are the lucky ones who aren't affected by being homeschooled. And yeah, I read that. So he's the reason for Cassie's trip to Aussieland? HE MUST DIE!!!

:eyebrow: I have never met a single socially awkward homeschool kid. I have however met loads of socially awkward kids who went to regular schools. :P
How is there not a death warrant out for this kid? Seriously. You could just use #39 to convince the judge that it was justifiable.

Wow, it's amazing how quickly those Reddit convos go WAY offtopic. We have tangents every now and again, but we normally stick to the topic.
Also, how anyone can read and follow the format that site is set in is beyond me. I like it here. It's neat and safe here. :hide:
