So the Animorphs, Free Hork Bajir, Chee, anyone good need a place to stay hidden for a while. Who would you shelter?
I'm thinking Ax. We'd veg out with old American sitcoms (and The Break), eat pizza and talk about how valiant and brave we would have been if cinnamon buns hadn't got in the way.
Also; Hello. I'm Red, by the way. I'm new. Weeping like a child as I re-read the entire series this month got too much for me, so I made an account. :)

Welcome to the board!
Actually, just about any of the good guys. Even Cassie, who is my least favorite character. I'm just that kind of guy.
-
Thanks!
That's very charitable of you. Why is Cassie your least favourite?
-
Well, she gets preachy and has all these "moral" rules that limit the others. One of the most notorious is the rule against morphing sentients on the basis that it's like what the Yeerks do. Except it isn't at all what the Yeerks do.
-
Yeah, I realised as soon as I replied that Cassie is probably my least favourite too. She's definitely needed as a character but whereas her morality issues are useful in earlier books, she's sometimes more of a hinderance to the Animorphs in the later books.
-
I kind of sympathize a lot with Cassie. A lot of people don't understand that she kept the other Animorphs and Ax sane. C'mon, if it weren't for Cassie, they would have bombed the Yeerk Pool by book 24, easily scarring the Animorphs for life; they don't exactly see the consequences of their actions the way Cassie does.
See how Jake was scarred at the end? Cassie's influence made Jake strong up until the point where he hid things from Cassie.
Oh yeah, and if they bombed the Yeerk Pool early on, then Earth would have lost much much faster. You all know why. :)

Welcome to the board Red! ^_^
Hmm...I'd probably take in Ax or Marco, we're both equally nerdy with tech stuff, though both would be way better with them than me. I like to use them, not understand how they work...
And I could so take Marco in video games. He wouldn't stand a chance. ;)
-
Marco, just for the entertainment value. :D Although that'd be like having an extra version of my husband around, so I dunno if I could handle that......
Actually, if I could take ANYONE in from the "good" side, I would take Aftran (in a non-whale form, preferably. I don't think her nothlit form would fit in my house). I can imagine some awesome conversations coming from that arrangement.
Also, welcome to the forum, Red! Why don't you head over to the Introductions & Departures thread to introduce yourself!
-
She played a meseccary role. I will say that. Although the way her character was played out turned me off.
-
Welcome RED! you come built with a easily familiar nickname. :)
btw, I'm not gonna lie, I'd take Rachel....cause. Well. I'm a guy. :P
-
^
I'd take "Nice" Rachel if possible. "Rachel" rachel would morph to grizzly the instant I look at her. :))
-
I'd definitely take in the Chee. No more household chores or homework for me.
-
Hello Red, and welcome! I just finished a re-read myself, and had many sniffles and teary eyes.
I think i "could" shelter any of them...though i have to admit i might be a bit leery about a Hork Bajir... it would be probably scare the crap out of my neighbors and turn my furniture to scrap.
That being said, i think the one i would most want to shelter would also have to be Ax. Partially, because it would be hilarious. Ax + two liter of Mountain Dew = awesome. Also, though, i would be fascinated to learn about Andalite culture. The inner nerd would come out and i would pester him about Andalite poetry and history.
-
Hi, Red! Welcome to RAF :D
I'd take in Tobias, Aftran, or one of the Chee. Imagine how great it would be to talk to someone who built the pyramids? *dorky*
-
well if it was at the time of when i was reading the series, i would have said rachel for obvious reasons... now im thinking one of the chee, they all seemed like pretty interesting characters, and there would be a lot of interesting conversations with someone that has been around that long.
-
I'd take Marco or Rachel :]
Marco, because I love hanging around funny people, and Rachel, just so that I would have someone beautiful to watch all day long ;D
-
Even though Rachel would probably kick your butt if she caught you staring ;)
-
I'd love hearing a Chee's stories... and besides, I'd have a built-in dog sitter!
-
Even though Rachel would probably kick your butt if she caught you staring ;)
Yeah :P
-
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's first thought was 'Well, I could take in Rachel... *eyebrow waggle*' LOL. I feel I must give up on my childhood crush on her at this age though. :P
-
lol What a good question ^^
Now I have a house, and a garden, I'd accept few Hork-bajirs, and I'm sure my father would be pretty glad to have help to take care of our trees :P
Ax or any Andalite would be OK too, we have a good grass, and if they don't eat everything (and particularly MY chocolate) in the house, it's OK ^^'
No problem for the Chees, I'd even pay few of them to stay and play with my dogs, so maybe I could live few hours without them near my feet =_='
I wouldn't accept any Leeran, anyway... No water around my house, I don't want to share the bathroom with one of them (exception here but as there are young people I won't say anything :P) and I don't want anybody who can read in my mind...
And of course, the other Animorphs, why not.
Dameg
We accept everybody as soon as they have a brain and a ear enough large ;)

Welcome aboard Red!
I'd probably take Jake, if only because no one else has mentioned him, or Toby Hamee.
I would love to teach a Hork Bajir genius like her how to play chess.
-

I'm thinking Ax. We'd veg out with old American sitcoms (and The Break), eat pizza and talk about how valiant and brave we would have been if cinnamon buns hadn't got in the way.

Nice topic idea Red! I agree that Ax would be the coolest roommate ever, but I honestly think I would get along with most of the Animorphs. I identify very well with Tobias and Marco is rather like me except he's more confident and cynical. I also greatly admired Cassie's morals and principals (although I will admit she had her annoying moments).
I think Rachel is the only Animorph I might struggle to get along well with, but I imagine that says more about her than it does about me. :P
-
I'd say either the Chee, Ax, Marco, or Tobias. Long list, I know. The Chee simply because I'd love to hear accurate stories of the past untainted by people, Ax because he could tell me things about the universe and I could provide him with delicious grease and salt, Marco because we have similar personalities, and Tobias because I think he is an interesting character.
-
I'd take in anyone... They're trying to save the planet, after all o.O I really like my planet.
-
Well, I'd take any of 'em, but if I had to choose just one (or a particular group) it'd be the Chee. Dude, can you imagine how epically awesomesauce it would be to talk to someone who has seen almost all of recorded (and a lot of un-recorded) human history? PLUS the benefit of them being from another planet and get to know about that history? PLUS no more homework, and a PIMP computer? :P Oh, yeah, Chee all the way! :P
-
Ha ha, very good point Cody!
-
I'd probably pick Ax or Marco.
Ax in human morph would need a lot of watching ("no, Ax, we don't eat banana peels!") but he's a freaking genius with technology. Of course, getting him to share some of that knowledge would be a little harder, but we could probably make a deal. Say, one hour of lessons for a dozen cinnamon buns? ;)
Marco and I have very similar personalities, so we'd get along just fine after awhile. I'd probably have to prove that I wasn't Yeerked first, though.
I was initially going to say Rachel, but I changed my mind once I thought about it more. She's pretty hotheaded, and I don't relish the thought of trying to argue with somebody who could (and quite possibly would) morph a grizzly bear and take my head off.
I'd be willing to take in Jake, but I don't know how well we'd get along. Especially by the end of the series, he didn't want to talk about anything with anybody, which is something I don't do too well with.
Tobias... sorry, Tobias fans, but he's a little too emo for me. I respect his part in the missions, but I don't think we could live together happily.
I could probably get along with Cassie, but it would be a definite strain on my patience. Tom said it best: "Wars aren't won with clean hands", and Cassie refuses to acknowledge that. I can see her viewpoint, but by the end of the series it was a drag on the Animorphs' resistance efforts.
-
I'd like to steal some of Marco's jokes too. ;D
-
I like the idea of taking in Hork-bajir, but if one of my neighbors saw it they'd get out a shotgun and try and kill it.
Practically, I would like to take in Ax, who doesn't like a chilli loving alien.
-
I could chill with Marco.
He can come. I'll cook him dinner and he can amuse Jack by playing video games. It would be great.
-
Jake, or maybe a chee
-
Jake would probably just chill by himself, so he could easily have a room. I'd play video games with Marco, make a drawer nest for Tobias, and show Rachel the awesomeness that is online shopping. Cassie might be a problem....I can see her going to bed at like 9 pm and yelling at me for playing my music too loud because she's trying to study. Ax might also be a problem....I'd have to go grocery shopping every other day. And, you know, the hoofprints on my bathroom floor.
