Okay, I fly out at 7am tomorrow, going to Sydney.
I have my interview at the U.S Consulate on the 25th (24th for the States) where I sit down and answer a bunch of questions and the Consulate either accepts or rejects my Visa...
So...
WISH ME LUCK!!!
Be back in about a week (at the latest)!!!
Oh, and I'll be sure to take pics. See if I can't get to the Opera House ;)
-
awww good luck!
-
Oooh! Good luck, Dan! I hope everything goes well. Have fun while you're there too, if you're not too nervous!
-
Wait, really? You're leaving me with all these crazies for a week? What am I going to do without your particular brand of crazy!?
Haha... good luck ^_^
-
Good luck, dude! Have fun! And I really hope they accept the visa, we need more American RAFians! But, remember... You want to move to Tennessee, not Texas. :P
-
No way, Codes! You should just move here too! It'd be aweeeeesome!
To be fair, Tennessee is way prettier, but joining the Texas bandwagon is fun too!
-
But I can't afford to! D: And since no RAFians take my plight to live for free in their house, in doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon.... :'(
-
Good luck! :)

:P Cody, you can at least come visit me when I get my own place. The Chicago bandwagon needs more people. ^_^
Good luck, Baron!

Good luck Baron!

Curry place has free wifi, so I figured that I'd use the iTouch to update y'all :-D
In Sydney, FREEZING cold, bought some gloves (and a Deadpool comic, haha) and I've found a place to stay (Yes, Immigration gave us such little notice that I flew here without knowing where I was going to sleep... :P)
I've taken some photos and for some reason the trains here are double-decker... Go figure :-s
Thanks for the well wishes :-D
Talk to y'all soon!
-
Merde, Baron. (It's a French word to say both "****" and a kind of "good luck", but don't tell me "thanks" or it won't work ;))
-
Believe it or not, my youth was spent looking up foreign swear words, so I know what 'merde' means...
The same as Scheiße xD
-
Baron, I have to know, what temp. do y'all consider FREEZING? :P
Also, again, break a leg, man!!! :D
-
Welcome to RAF! I'm Gaz, nice to meet you!
-
Gazzy, this is his 'going away for a bit' thread; he's been here a while and is hot property :P Anyway, good luck, Baron! Keep us updated :)
-
Merde Baron, merde !
(as Dameg said)

Baron, I have to know, what temp. do y'all consider FREEZING? :P
For me? 12 degrees... Celsius.
According to the converter, that's 53.6 degrees Fahrenheit?
-
i wouldnt call that freezing, but ya its pretty cold :P
-
You're all pansies ;D
-
lol i said it wasnt freezing :P
-
Haha... no, it's not. 0C is freezing. Which is still not cold :P
-
I agree with Al. :P 56 is... nothing. Seriously. XD

That's not bad weather for this country! :P

Hey guys, sorry to leave you all in the dark (shout out to Aluminator for the email ^_^), I'm finally in Txas, but the last few months have been NUTS!!!
Of course, I'm finally married, but I've also spent the last few months driving around Texas, helping the new missus w/ her job with Texas Parks and Wildlife. I'm actually writing this on the Holiday Inn Internet, but I should be able to finly update everyone next week (last week of work)!
Sorry for keeping everyone in the dark for so long, but I WILL be back soon!!!
-
Congrats on being married! :D
-
Oh Baron! Congrats and good luck! ^^'
-
Yay! I'm glad you've resurfaced, made it safely overseas, and are officially married! Congrats, Dan! We've missed you.
-
^ What they said. Definite congratulations are in order ^_^ It'll definitely be nice to have you back here, but in the meantime, enjoy the craziness of real life ^_^
-
congrats! oh and ur gf has an AWESOME job! whats she do exactly?
-
It's actually a summer job :-b
She's working for Texas Parks and Wildlife, counting Prarie Dog towns and monitoring Burrowing Owl and Ferugionos Hawk populations to see which are still flourishing and which are dead due to poisoning/plowing/plague/etc.
It's pretty cool, except you spend 12hrs/day in a car and I'm used to moving about :-b
