Title: Goosebumps Restricted
Post by: Slushie Man on April 21, 2010, 06:36:42 PM
Chatting with a friend tonight has me thinking about this idea. I could start my own Goosebumps fanfic series, titled Goosebumps Restricted (Not final title, and the reason for that is so my stories could include a bit more R-Rated material, such as actual deaths and such that the kid series couldn't), and I could do a combination of original stories and sequels to some of the older Goosebumps books. I've already got two story ideas.

Monster Blood Upgrade - The Monster Blood will be purchased on Ebay or some trading site like that, only this can be like...I don't know, purple monster blood or something. See, in Monster Blood 4, the MB was blue and it had totally different effects from the usual green MB. So this stuff can be a different color and it can bring things to life instead of make them grow, and it brings buddy's computer to life when he spills some on it and throughout the story, it merges with other electronic things until its this giant killer robot trying to kill buddy.

Don't Answer The Phone - Much like how many of Stine's were inspired by real movies and such, some of mine can be as well. Like one about a cell phone that ominously rings at random times and tells you the future. Inspired by One Missed Call, except instead of just telling you about a death, the call tells them ANYTHING from their immeidate future, like I can have one call pick up buddy being beat up, so he takes a seperate way home to avoid the beating, ect. Of course, the twist would be that whatever path he takes to avoid what happens over the phone, turns out WORSE then what happens over the phone and that over the phone, despite sounding quite bad, is actualy the best possible choice he could make and he's supposed to pick that path, not try to go around it or else worse things will happen.

Like I said, its all just in the idea stage right now, but let me know your thoughts on it. And if I do go ahead with it, after I get two or three written, I'll probably start looking for Guest Writers to help and they can bring their own story ideas to the table as well.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if this idea got anywhere? I sadly don't have any ideas for this, but while everyone else (for the most part) was reading Animorphs, I was reading Goosebumps, so I really like the idea of a Goosebumps series for older teens/adults

By the way, have you heard of his Fear Street series?

I have. I read a few when I was younger, but never got into them as much as I did Goosebumps. As for this...um...still in idea phase? lol, sounds about right :)

Ok, so I'm getting ready to start this up now. Still haven't fully decided on what story to tell first, but I have a few ideas. Thinking about maybe going with a werewolf one, since I love werewolves so much.

Thinking about something like Detention with Ms. Werewolf or something where a troubled kid finds out that his detention teacher is really a werewolf.

I was never a huge fan of Goosebumps, but that's mainly due to the fact that it seemed to be aimed at toddlers and therefore couldn't include certain stuff that would've made it more believable and interesting. Also his endings/twists kinda sucked. Either way, I look forward to seeing what you come up with Slushie.
