Wouldn't that be hilarious if when they were thinking something they actually said it in thoughtspeak?
Rachel: <Shut up Marco!>
Marco: <I'll show you you tramp!>
Rachel: <What did you just call me!?>
Marco: <Oh, oops, did I think that out loud?>
Or if when Tobias was in his human form, say he was checking a girl out.
Tobias: <Man, look at that rack! *whistles*>
Girl: "Excuse me!?"
There could be a lot of funny errors. >:D

i've thought about that. i'm pretty sure thought-speak would have to be intentional (not just thinking in your mind).
of course, something could always slip. :)

True, you can control it, but still, it could be potentially hilarious.

i always did wonder about that. especially in the begining when they were learning how to use thought speak, how did they not make more mistakes?

Jake did slip up once in the series. He gave an order, then immediately thought to himself something like "yeah, great, they'll believe that." Except it wasn't just to himself, it was to all of them, and one of the other Animorphs called him on it. I'm blanking as to what book.

Found it, thanks to Steph. Book 17. The conversation about the Happy Meal with extra happy.
<Okay. So here's the plan,> Jake said. <We watch till someone orders the Happy Meal with . . . what was it?>
<Extra happy,> Tobias said.
<ls it just my imagination, or did the Yeerks develop a sense of humor?>Marco asked.
<Once we have our Controller, we follow him in. No problem,> Jake said. Then he added grimly, <Oh yeah, no problem. A little picnic in the Yeerk pool. I'm sure they'll all buy that.>
<Um, Jake?> Marco said. <You said that last part out loud. We heard it.>
<Oh. Sorry.>
