I never thought about who the people on the book covers were. Maybe check the Anibase site. Has anyone ever asked?

Actually there's a site called Hirac Delest that's dedicated to gaining as much Ani info as possible. Maybe it's there.

I just did some searching- I don't think that information is actually available online. Cassie's model was named Biko, the rest of the Animorphs apparently had two models over the course of the series, changing in MM4 when the original set went off to college (Biko's school was close enough for her to continue modeling for the covers).

As far as I can tell, they weren't professional models or anything, so chances are that information was never released in order to protect their privacy. By my count, the original models would be around 30 now, so they probably aren't all that interested in getting fan mail from Animorphs fans or whatever.

They would be good for a movie that took place after The Beginning. They could go back at it when the Yeerks spring up from some far corner in the galaxy where they had been regaining strength! :starwars:

if they could act, i'd take them in heartbeat. somehow, i doubt that's the case....

the early/first ones, i mean. also: wow, they were older than i thought they were! (except perhaps for tobias' second model? he looked about 10 when he walked into this... too young for the character he was modeling, imho.)

I think he looks fine in the Taxxon book, mainly because his Human morph doesn't age. The DNA resets every time he demorphs.

Always wondered why on Earth morphing would preserve the age of the character. Your DNA is the same whether you're 12 or 60. Might have something to do with how the morpher pictures the morph's appearance, though. Though if that were the case and I were a middle-schooler, I'd totally take the opportunity to morph older versions of all my friends.  ;D

As for the models being older, that isn't a total shock. People have older individuals pose as kids all the time. Although college age seemed like a stretch; I was expecting them to be more along the lines of fifteen or sixteen.

haha... i understand that, chad... but the re-acquired tobias wasn't 10. D: and compare that to the "age" of the other animorphs in their first books... he looks a lot younger than they do. for a reason. i'm pretty sure there's a significant age difference, there. that's my only problem. i understand that some kids look younger than they are... but it was the huge change and relative differences that left me feeling a little.... :P

lol, shenmue.... i have no idea. i have a feeling that katmike aren't biologists. ^^; they probably never thought it through because, well, they didn't have to. we still bought it, more or less, right...? xD;;

I never thought he looked 10? :shrug:

It isn't him, of course, he's much too young, but there's this guy I go to school with who's facebook profile pic looks. Exactly. Like. The. Jake. Model.

eight, then. Dx i swear, this kid looks notably young.

...or maybe i am turning into a career woman with no ability to sympathize with kids. who knows what a six-year-old looks like? i don't ever have to deal with kids. >____>;;

D: ORLY? i'd like to meet this dude. because i kinda thought jake the model was pretty hot. imo. i would like to know is facebook. possibly.

i had an archaeology class sophomore year and one guy therein looked like the actor for lex luthor from Smallville. D: same build, height, face... gave me a heart attack every time i saw him.

I always thought that they were way too young to be saving the galaxy. They were supposed to be in Junior High or Middle School right? Come on, at least put them in High School.  ::)

Also, I don't know if there is already a thread for this so I will ask it here. About how long did the whole series last from when they first encountered Elfangor to when Jake and the others find the One? Is there a timeline somewhere? Also did we ever find out where they lived? It never says it in the series, but are there guesses since or has katemike revealed it?

One more thing, I totally made an extensive morph chart for every single morph (For only the 6) when I was reading the series!  ;D Did anyone else do that? It was way fun.

In 'Animorphs time' the war went on for 3 years. We find out in #53-54. Don't know about #41, but I guess you could break it down from 54 books and say that every 18 books is a year passed? So roughly 2 and half years has passed by when they were at #41?

That's just a guess, because the missions themselves are really inconsistent. We have no idea how far apart they are from each other or when they really occur (with seasonal changes, etc), so you can't really tell.

As for morph lists per book, check out: http://www.hiracdelest.com/mission-status.htm

For the Animorphs themselves, click on their heads up top at the banner and you'll see all of their morphs listed in their profiles. :)

It's interesting you should say that. Michael Grant has gotten similar comments in regards to his GONE series - that kids 11-15 years old are far too young to deal with the situations they are put through and they would not be successful. Grant retaliated with a few examples of real life kids and teens in history who had the leadership success of a Jake, the twisted mind of a Rachel, and made a huge impact on the world. I'll fish around for the exact quote, but it was on his facebook page months ago so I doubt I'll be able to find it.

Bottom line, though: we don't give kids enough credit.

I think I know what quote you're talking about. That's reflected in the start of Andalite Chronicles as well:

Quote
I have given the morphing power to five young humans. Children, really. But sometimes children can accomplish amazing things.
