Title: insert brilliant and eyecatching topic title here
Post by: itw2009 on February 14, 2010, 12:45:32 AM
me, half-avoiding sleep, haha. brain function isn't at its greatest, but i figured i'd at least give a brief 'hey' before running off.

huge anifan since.... book 10. i vividly remember ordering the book through scholastic in the fifth grade; i've been hooked since. i used to pretend that i could relate best to rachel (in a bad way, haha). now, i couldn't tell you (don't you find it hard not to love them all?), but i'm currently trying to get in touch with my inner cassie. ;) (mostly because i take a pretty brutal, anti-person approach to everything, which is bad. xD)

now i'm out of college (master's in architectural engineering- fancy way of saying that i know how buildings work) and working public sector for an agency i'm not mentioning, because it could be crazyhooplah if anyone knew.

i'm def looking foward to networking with people here- i SWEAR i don't bite (unless you're picking a fight. then i might get a little snippy.), so please, impress me with your awesomeness. =) i love awesome people.

*swirls his cloak and enters the room.  He notices itw, and bows in a gentlemanly way.*

Welcome to RAF, Miss Itw.  I am Cloaky, resident Realm Walker.  Before I leave you, I must warn you that, as sort of an initiation, the seal will be procuring your sanity.  It's best not to resist.

*two-fingered salute* thanks for the welcome. :)

"the seal"? *eyebrow*
excellent. NOW the paranoia has set in (i'll also note 'paranoia's proximity to 'insanity'). ;)

i'm all up for taking a crash course in RAFian, to be honest. just glancing over threads, i note a LOT of local jargon with which i am woefully unfamiliar (and have no hope of interpreting without some help, ahaha). ^^;;

Hey there itw, welcome to the forum! I'm Terenia, pleased to make your acquaintance. You're most likely to run into me over on the Animorphs Chat board and the RPG board. Enjoy your stay!

Hi! Welcome to RAF! We're glad you're here! I hope you dive right in but, as Cloaky says, if you need any assistance or have any questions, feel free to let us or a staff member know.

I hope you will join us in RAFchat some time. When I joined this wonderful forum a few months ago, I found it to be a good way to meet RAFians and become integrated into the community.

wHELLcome, Itw!
I'm Vis... I'm Dameg, another RAFian. Come with me, please, I have something to show you. It's here, after this door *Open a heavy door* We call them the RAFprojects. *Lead Itw to a long and dark hallway, with many doors, some in the dark, some with light coming from the other side. Arrive near the first door* Here at your left...

- The Ebooks project: [Help wanted!] Animorphs (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=14.0 (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=14.0)), Remnants (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,157.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,157.0.html) <= finished) and Everworld (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,331.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,331.0.html) <= almost finished, it's our current priority, we need help to correct the volume #3 and check all the volumes to be sure there is no missing page); the Everworld/Animorphs ebooks need to be cleaned a little (mistakes, missing pages, we don't know where the chapters begin and finish, etc.) so if you wanna be a correcter... call me, I head that projects.

Facing it is...

- RAFipedia: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=22.0 (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=22.0), an encyclopedia headed up by Estelore, our star (a true star, who make light and burn in space... but she has a body to come on Earth);

Next it's...

- the Audiobooks project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0 (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0), a full-cast audio version of Animorphs who need more "actors" and voices, headed by Kit Cloudkicker (Jess), MrGuy, Morfowt, and Wildweathel;

and here...

- the Graphic Novel project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,416.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,416.0.html) and http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0.html), a Webcomic headed by Gafrash.

You also have...

- the Smiley project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1691.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1691.0.html), we make Animated gifs, smileys about Animorphs (Andalites, Hork-Bajirs...);

here and facing it is...

- the Translation project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1907.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1907.0.html), a recently started project/mutual support group for translations into other languages; currently only in French (Tocade, Anidragon and myself), Chinese (Morfowt), Indonesian (Nat), Swedish (Mira and Zana), and Esperanto (Wildweathel); we translate only the volumes never edited in our countries/languages, to make the ebooks;

Next door is for the special project:

- http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3738.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3738.0.html): the adventures of the RAFians;

At the end it's for the little projects:

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3810.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3810.0.html);

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3911.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3911.0.html) to make the planets we hear about in Animorphs;

- the paper-RPG project: a role-playing game (on table, with paper, pen and dices...) about the World of Animorphs; I head this project, and it'll be write in French at the beginning, but we need help to find, class and write everything we know about the species, the planets, the powers we see in Animorphs, fix them, see what we keep and what we can't keep (because of the KASU, not clear, exception for the main characters/books, etc.), complete the knowledges about species/planets we know and even create new species/planets...; this project will be on my own website, so if you wanna join, ask me the link ^^;

- the RPG project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,4069.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,4069.0.html) to make a video game about Animorphs, with RPGmaker;

- the Command-line game project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3787.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3787.0.html) for another kind of video game about Animorphs;

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3773.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3773.0.html) where we count all the people killed by the Animorphs;

- the RAFkaraoke: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3150.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3150.0.html), where we make songs and sing them...

and some other projects who come and go. Please check the list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/board,13.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/board,13.0.html)

*Standing in front of Itw* I hope you enjoyed your visit. Oh, and I also invite you to add your species on this list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2154.0.html (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2154.0.html) 'coz everybody isn't Human here. And we like to know who is what... For example, as you'll probably see, I'm a Controller.

Now I have to go, I don't invite you for the meal, sorry. *Beginning to go down dark stairs. Itw can hear a cry coming from the cave.*
Have fun!
*Dameg disappears into the darkness, Itw is now alone in the hallway*

Why hello thar.

I'm Mr. Guy, currently trying to hang out here more like the old times. I'm the originator and (when not struck by laziness) coordinator of the Audiobook project, along with Jess and numerous others.

I'll go get the seal.

Post by: Horsefan1023 (Seal) on February 14, 2010, 05:47:33 PM
Seal gotten.  He managed to pry me away from my computer game.  Civilization.  Addicting.  *twitch*

Anyway, (I'm very lazy, so I shall make my post brief) welcome to RAF!  I'm Horsefan, call me Horse, Horsie, or Seal, because, as you've heard from multiple sources, I am a seal.  THE seal.

The SANITY collecting seal.  So, please, hand it over.  Otherwise...I'll lock you in a dark room, rip it out of the top of your head, stick it in a green glass bottle, and throw it down the incin--chute.  *covers sign over "chute" that says "Incinerator"*

Once again, welcome, I'm sure you'll have a great time here!

Hey itw! So... you seem to be finding your way around RAF just fine. You've given up your sanity to the seal. You know this is a ridiculously awesome community (or you're beginning to suspect, anyway)... Yeah, I'd say you're doing pretty well!

Welcome to RAF! Enjoy! Or, you know, some other slogan.

Welcome to our happy little asylum eh? i am your resident Canada patriot, beavers and all eh! You'll probably see me most in the media boards, or posting my fanfictions which will probably still be in progress by armageddon. Have fun! Have a RAFpop! make fun of the animorphs TV show! Relive the books! Do whatever the hell you want to eh! Have fun, oh, and don't diss Canada eh! If you do, I will be forced to Go on a horrific Ranting spree, and god forbid that happens!

thaaank you. =)

i'll admit, i had a snort moment when you mentioned the tv show.

THAT was power rangers on crack-eighties special effects.

xD; i will avoid any mention of canada in a negative context. ...and i have only ever met one canadian who DID do the whole 'eh?' thing. end of nearly every sentence. strangest thing i've ever heard.

oh, wait. then there are conversations that go:

"...and she was, like,..."
"...and you were, like,..."
"...and i was, like,..."

that's just poor vocabulary speaking. or poor conjugation skills, i really can't tell which. /rant, lol. ^^; nothing to do with canada, there. that's good old 'american' speaking.

Well, he's taller than me -- outside RAF, that is.  In reality, I'm somewhere between 5'9 and 5'11.

Inside RAF, and my RAFsona, I'm an eight-foot tall Realm Walker.

I've always thought tourism would be super fun to do...would definitely force you to learn a lot of cool history.

@dameg- oooh, tourism. sweet.

so if i come visit you, you will give me the BEST insights into ALL the best places EVERYWHERE?

;D

i also like the idea of translation- it's like an art.

@myitt- LMAO. (yeah, even if she won't admit it...) ;) ;)

@comet- inorite? i loove hands-on history. i've considered volunteering to do tours with some historic places where i live, but i don't have the time. ^^; so i just visit them on weekends! soo much fun. =)

I'm not a bum... because by chance my parents have a house ^^'
But I'll probably be if no school accept me or if I don't succeed this studies.

Well, I'd be more into cultural tourism, particularly about Japan. I just saw the director today and sat the tests. They'll tell me next week if they take me or not. That's for tourism.
Now, for translations, I don't know. I can try to sit the test, but I don't think I'll be enough good in English to succeed them, so...
