Here's where we'll post for those aboard The Cursed Pride going to destroy the CG facility!
:pirate:
-
(Yayz! I'm in! Temrash is snoozing in his room right now. If anyone has something importnat for him, just wake him up. He won't slice you down or anything.)
-
Elipir didn't want a potential confrontation in case he was found out, so he turned on the shipboard radio and sent a message to the Cursed Pride. "Greetings, crew of the Cursed Pride, This is Elipir 851 and I mean you no harm. I have listened amongst your chatter and have heard that you are off to destroy a facility performing cruel and unnatural experiments on humans. I intend to join this mission, for my own personal reasons. I, unfortunately, couldn't get on board due to uncertainties regarding your Kandrona supply, so I intend to follow you from a safe distance. If you detect a heavily modified space pirate fighter anywhere during the duration of the trip, that is me."
-
Parker finished refitting his supply, and decided to search out a room. He Found an empty one that was fairly close to the exit, The one directly next to the exit was taken by Temrash already. He went inside and found a magnetic plaque with a pad on it. He figured that's what they used for the guest's signs. He wrote "SPARTAN-821" on it and placed it on the door. He then went about stripping his armor off. This was an involved process, so it takes a while to complete.
-
Morgan heard the transmission. He was a bit surprised at first, and when he had gathered himself he said, "Greetings, Elipir. There's no problem at all. You're more than welcome, we'll take all the help we can get."
From there Morgan pressed the all ship comm and said, "Attention, in approximately one hour we'll be entering the white in order to get our 'verse. We'll be in the white for around five hours and the rest of our journey will be in our 'verse."
Meanwhile, Gaz was walking out of her own quarters. She had changed out of her blue jacket and was wearing a white shirt, black vest and black pants. Her light hair with a couple of purple streaks was pulled back and for the first time she wasn't wearing her trademark hat.
She was on her way to the dining area to grab something to eat.
"The white," she muttered, "wish we didn't have to go through that. Much prefer the black."
-
Parker was uncoupling his gauntlets by the time he heard the announcement. The "White"? What the hell is that?
-
Gaz was walking down the hall still towards the dining area when the announcement was made.
"Not everyone on board knows what the white is," she said aloud.
Morgan's voice came back on again and he said, "Oh, for those who aren't aware, what others call z-space is what we call the white."
"Much better," Gaz said.
-
While the signal was still live, Elipir heard the announcement that the Cursed Pride was going to jump into Z-space in about one hour. Elipir pressed a button and almost instantly, a hologram of the Cursed Pride appeared, along with important information such as its speed and trajectory appearing on a nearby monitor. He instructed the AI to begin the countdown and he stared obsessively at the monitor, waiting for the exact moment he needed to make the jump into Z-space. Just one mistake and he could possibly end up losing them.
-
"Prepare to enter the white," Morgan told the crewman at navigation.
"Yes, Cap'n," he replied and entered something into the computer.
A moment later, the ship jumped into what many called z-space.
"We're going to be in the white for the next hour roughly," Morgan announced over the comm.
To the crewman he said, "I'll be down in the dining area."
And walked down the stairs that lead to the hallway with quarters.
Gaz was near the end of the hallway when she heard Morgan come down. She turned and waved.
"Where you heading?" she yelled down the hall.
"Dining," Morgan replied.
"Great!" Gaz said. "I'm heading that way too! I'll wait for you to get down here."
-
~~Here.........youknow, if you move threads for something a MESSAGE or something like that would have been nice for those with limited COMP time and not enough time to go back and search for it all. Myitt helped me out.~~
-
(I apologize. I've been pretty busy lately.)
-
~~I understand. I'll just have my char pick out her room and such and then go from there. Sorry about the ranting.....~~
------------------------------------------------------------------
Silver went and looked through the rooms, reading the names silently until she found one that was unnamed near the end of the hallway towards the back area. She knocked and then walkedinside and smiled. It was perfect. She found the pad and placed her name "Artemis" in a form of her handwriting, which had an old-time look to it's form.
-
Parker was nearly done stripping his armor. He had gotten his upper torso and gaunlets off. He begins working on removing his leggings when the announcement came on. Z-Space? That's right, Hunter was talking about that. Weird names.
-
Once John had worked his way into the armoury, it took him a few minutes to get over all the crazy looking weapons there. Finding what he needed, he quickly grabbed a near full box of .45 FMJ AP. He then headed towards where the crew rooms were, and he found one just across the hallway from the one that Parker had taken. Looking around the room, he found some sort of pad and a pen-like doodad.
Writing 'Cutter, J' on it, he hooked it to the door and he went in the room to check it out while they were in z-space. Placing his two weapons and the box of ammo on the bed, he thought to himself 'All this space travel is weirding me out.'
Seeing a desk and a seat, he carried his things to the table and he sat down. Placing his tommy gun on the table, he removed the magazine and he proceeded to strip the gun down for cleaning.
-
It has already been nearly 3 days since the last Kandrona feeding. When Elipir made it into Z-space, he turned on his autopilot and gave the AI temporary control of the ship. He then lowered the restraints and his space pirate host was knocked unconscious with a quick jolt. Elipir slithered out and into the Yeerk Pool. He hated doing this because he was at his most vulnerable, but he had no other choice. He thought about how great it would be if he could become a nothlit.
-
A mirror hung on the back wall of her new room. She looked inside the mirror at herself at gave a short grimace. She was covered in dirt, and she was due for a new set of clothes. She realized she would have to talk to gaz or someone to figure out what to do about that litttle problem.
-
Gaz was still standing in the hallway where the rooms were. She was waiting for Morgan to get down to where she was so they could grab a bite in the dining room.
"Morgan!" she yelled down the hallway, and was certain people in the rooms could hear her. "You're too slow!"
Morgan had stopped to talk to a crew member about something. He rolled his eyes and shook his head when Gaz yelled and turned to keep walking down the hall.
"You could go on ahead, you know," Morgan said.
"Now where's the fun in that?" Gaz asked impishly.
-
Temrash was roused from his sleep when Gaz yelled for Morgan. He stretched and yawned.
"That was a nice nap."
<Hungry.> Jagill said.
Temrash grabbed a container from his supplies and grabbed some bark out. He walked out of his room minching the bark, and noticed he hadn't labeled his room yet. After he settled that he decided he'd go sit with the others to eat.
"Hey Gaz. Mind if I join you?"
-
"Not at all!" Gaz said. "The more the merrier. We're going to be on this ship together for a while."
-
"Speak of the devil." Silver said with a smile as she heard Gaz yelling outside in the hallway at her father. She draped her cloak over a hook on the wall and set her weapons in a compartment and stepped outside and walked a bit over to Gaz. "Hey gaz, could I troule you in showing me where I could clean up?" she asked.
-
"No problem," Gaz said. She pointed to a door way just a little ways down the hall. "There's the women's washroom."
-
"So what do you figure they have for washing down a good meal, Gaz?"
-
"Morgan's got some stuff stashed way," Gaz said. "Let's go check it out."
Gaz showed the way into the dining area. It had tables and an open kitchen area. At one end looked like it had a makeshift bar.
-
"Nice dining area." He said, though the place was built more for Humans than for Hork-Bajir. He wouldn't complain, though. not like it was their fault. "I might go for some nonalchoholic beverage. Juices and such."
-
"Help yourself," Morgan said. "Anything you find in here you're welcome to."
Morgan walked over to the kitchen area and started to take out ingredients.
-
Parker just finished taking off his boots after Gaz yelled after Morgan. Ah, finally.
He stood at his full semi-natural height of 7' 3". His pale skin shone through his boxers and tank top. He laid back on the cot and fell asleep.
-
"Ah. thanks Gaz." Silver said and walked in the door pointed out to her. It looked more or less like a large human communal shower, only there were stalls around all the showers. For that she was greatful. She stepped into the locker area and stripped out of her brown leather breeches and vest and unbound her hair from it's braid. She realized she missed a weapon around her inner thigh, a small little set of darts. "Oops...." she unbuckled the clasp and set it with her stuff and stepped into the stall and closed the curtain to shower. Like always she soon found herself singing (vocalizing) the lullabye she remembered from her dreams. She remembered the words and soon was singing as she was always to do when she showered.
~~If it's okay, I really liked this song growing up so I thought I would make the lullabye a real thin... here is the song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGkqG-OzXNQ ~~
-
(That's totally fine. ;D I'll have to listen to it later)
Morgan was setting some food out for the crew members that had come down to the dining area also. Morgan and Gaz had used some food to make some cooked tomatoes and sandwiches.
-
"Hey Morgan." Temrash said. "Let me order a fruit juice please."
-
~~'Kay!~~
-
"Sure thing," Morgan said. He pointed over to a door. "I got some things in that refrigerated compartment there. See if there's anything that interests you."
Morgan sat down at the table and prepped a plate for himself.
Gaz sat across from him and did the same.
"So," Morgan said, "why did Fletcher opt to stay behind? Afraid I might maroon him again?"
"I'm not sure why," Gaz replied, "he was the one who volunteered to stay with The Vagabond."
"Well," Morgan said thoughtfully, "I guess around a place like the space bar, don't want to take chances."
-
The metal in the ship began to carry Silver's song along the walls and Parker, the light sleeper he is, heard her voice. He eased awake after realizing that there was no way his Captain could be the one singing, even if it was a dream.
He sat up and listened, the slow sweet tone calmed his soul and brought back memories from his childhood before his family died. His mother tucking him in bed and singing him to sleep, every song came rushing at him in full force. He then felt a slight tickle down his cheek and touched it. When he removed his hand, he saw it was damp from tears. He stared at and tried to remember the last time he cried; he couldn't.
He decided to push those memories back and tried to find something to occupy his mind. He figured the only distractions were the people, so he left the room and made his way to the mess hall. Upon entry, he stood just inside the doorway and looked around.
-
Elipir 851 got out of the sludge feeling completely refreshed. He went back to his host and when a scanner detected that Elipir was back in control, the AI removed the restraints just in time for the host to regain consciousness. Elipir then regained control of his ship and looked down at the monitor. The Cursed Pride was only a few miles away and still within tracking distance. The jump was successful!
-
Temrash went to the fridge, and looked around. He found something orange that smelled good, and took a sip after closing the compartment. it was good, so he sat down at a table with the rest of his bark and tried to get comfortable.
-
"Come on in, Parker!" Gaz said. "Plenty of food to go around. Grab something to eat. The tomatoes are great."
"How do you feel about going back to our home 'verse?" Morgan asked Gaz.
"It feels nice," Gaz said. "It'll be good to see the familiar sky again. Would be better if we weren't wanted."
"Such a downer," Morgan commented as he shook his head.
-
Parker nodded to Gaz and replied, "Thank you, this is a nice area. Well decorated for a space vehicle." He stood next to Temrash as he grabbed the orange beverage and walked away. He grabbed the door before it closed and perused the contents. He found something small and light and sat not too far from Gaz and Morgan.
"I find it rather serendipitous that I once fought pirates, and now am teamed up with some. I'd say Ironic, but serendipitous feels better." He takes a bite of his chosen snack.
-
Temrash stopped mid bite when he saw Parker. Without the suit. It looked strange to see him without his suit on, though Temrash had seen his face before and knew it was Parker. He gave a wave and continued eating.
-
Parker acknowledged Temrash with a nod.
-
~~Awww! I made Parker cry! I didn't mean to do that!!!~~
-------------------------------------------
Silver finished and dressed in a simple blue shirt that came off her shoulders and looked like a peasant blouse and some black breeches, looser than her fighting ones she wore before. She took her things back to her room, dried and brushed out her hair and then found her way to everyone else as they were eating. "Hi everyone." she said with a smile as she walked in.
-
Parker saw Silver enter the room. His eyes softened and a smile automatically came across his face. "Hey you."
-
"Feel free to grab anything you'd like to eat," Morgan said.
"Captain," a voice over the comm said. "We'll be out of the white in 10 minutes."
"Thanks," Morgan replied. "Send a message to Elipir to keep him informed."
To the rest of the group, Morgan explained, "We have to leave the white and re-enter a short distance outside the outer plants. If we entered too close to our destination it would catch the unwanted attention of a CG ship. It adds about 2 or 3 days on to our journey, but it's necessary."
-
"Hey silver."
"That's understandable." Temrash said to Morgan. "What sort of weapons to the CG use? Armor? Vehicles?"
-
"Hey, no worries. Just give me ample time to get my armor back on and we're good."
-
"Hey." she smiled and then walked over to the fridge and said "Thanks." she listened to what the plan was and had grabbed a small fruit and a blue-purple drink. "Sounds sneaky yet completly obvious, which means they won't expect us to actually try it." she said, closing the fridgs door with her hip and sitting next to Parker.
-
Parker slightly shifts his weight towards Silver when she sits down. "Normally, my team would sneak in from the side, but that's when we're dealing with Covenant aliens. I bet rushing in the front would cause a lot of 'Shock and Awe' seeing a giant lizard and robot storming the place."
-
Silver tilted her head as she thought about that, imagining it in her mind, and gave a soft laugh at the idea.
-
((I'm going to Tahoe for the next 5 days. I'll be back LATE Wednesday, possibly early morning Thursday.))
-
"Are there any questions I can answer before we arrive?" Morgan asked as he ate.
-
"I got one. What kind of job here, exactly, are we looking at?" she asked. "I need to understand how things work."
-
"The plan is that we'll get into the facility and see if there are any 'test subjects' present," Morgan said, "apparently this place has been under operation for near half a year now. If there are, we get them out. After that, we wipe the system of information. With something this sensitive, it's probably the only copy of the information available. It's tempting to destroy the whole building, but that would draw more attention then we want."
-
"So get in, wipe it clean, get out. All without getting caught." she thought this over a minute, tilting her head then smiled. "Easy-peasy."
-
"We'll see," Gaz said, "this facility is located on a planet pretty close to where the CG ships hang out most. We're in the outer planets, and the CG doesn't pay too much attention to them. Poor folks are usually left to fend for themselves and get minimal government protection. Things get a little crazy there, but it's usually a safer place for people like us."
-
She nodded her understanding, but her mind was running with possibilities now.
-
Parker leans back in his chair, "Sounds like Thor'll be busy ."
-
She shook her head and smiled with a soft laugh. "You need to be careful that you don't run him down." she said teasingly.
-
Morgan was thoughtful. "I bet that the main doctors there will be the same as before."
"Why does that matter?" Gaz asked.
Morgan slowly clenched the fingers on one hand. "I owe them," was all he said.
-
Parker smiled back, "Oh don't worry about Thor, he's incapable of succombing to fatigue. I've witnessed him fight two Covenant AIs and still hack confidential alien files while venting atmosphere from sections of a ship we were trapped in. Not to mention provide me with real-time updates of enemy positions and proper escape routes. The guy's a marvel. This place'll be a cake-walk for him."
Parker looked to Morgan, "Don't worry Morgan, they'll get what's coming to them."
-
"They certainly will," Morgan said. In his hand was the chip that had been retrieved from the dead man.
Gaz looked at it and said, "Morgan...was there something on there that you haven't told us?"
Morgan looked at the chip for a long moment, then closed his hand again. He took a deep breath.
"There was something else that had been found," Morgan said. "The charges that the CG had against me...they were all falsified. Turns out Caven before Andromeda and I were married, he had an interest in her. But she didn't have any interest in him. Apparently he held on to feelings of resentment for a while, until he had the means to do something. One of the main doctors at the lab where I was kept was a relative of Caven's. She saw a picture of me and decided I would be a perfect specimen for her genetic experiment."
-
Silver looked up and then flinched at the mention of her mother. She listened and then walked over to her Father and wrapped her arms around him. "Everything will be okay from now on." she said, but she didn't smile.

~~Did we die here???~~
-
((I hope not. The reason I haven't posted is 'cause there isn't really much for Parker to do. Normally he'd try to reach out to Silver, but she's hugging Morgan.))
-
~~Maybe my hug was too powerful? XD~~
-
((Haha, yeah, your hug stopped time! Gaz, what's going on here?))
-
((lol! i think it's about time i posted in here, neh?
also, since parker's not wearing his armour, what's he wearing?))
After he had fully pulled apart his tommy gun, he cleaned and re-oiled all the parts. Once that was all said and done, he started to feel a bit peckish.
Hanging his overshirt on the back of the chair, he walked out of his room wearing his combat boots, olive drab army pants and a slightly blood stained khaki undershirt.
Following the signs that pointed in the direction of the mess-hall, John walked in and saw almost everyone that came onboard sitting down at a long-ish table.
Walking up to the fridge, he opened it up and he saw something that resembled a hamburger. Looking at the packaging he saw that it said 'Microwaveable Hambuger!' written on the packaging.
Scratching his head, he turned his head in the general direction of the table and he said "How do you work the microwave?" he stuggled with the last word, seeing as where, or more to the point, when he's from they don't exist.
-
He stood at his full semi-natural height of 7' 3". His pale skin shone through his boxers and tank top.
-
(sorry! Been really busy lately. Getting hard for me to keep up with everything. :P)
Gaz got up and walked over to John and said, "This is how ya do it." she opened the door and put one of the burgers inside. "After ya put it in, ya enter the amount of time ya want to cook it for." Gaz glanced at the container and entered the suggested time. "Now ya just wait until it's done."
Morgan reached up and patted Silver's arm. For a moment he had been lost in memories and it took a second to realize that people were waiting on him.
"Sorry," he muttered.
Then he cleared his throat and said, "We'll get them. They can't get away with what they've done."
(I'll add more to this this afternoon.)
-
(I haven't had much to post about either. Might be best to fast forward to the action.)
-
(agreed.)
"Cap'n!" came a voice over the intercom. "We're entering the IP."
"Inner planets," Morgan explained. "Plenty of CG ships around here to give us trouble if we draw attention to ourselves."
"On my way up!" Morgan shouted to the comm as he rushed out the door to the bridge.
-
Parker shot up, "****, I gotta get my suit on. Thank god it takes longer to take it off than on." He ran off to his temporary room and went about reapplying his armor.
-
Silver smiled and took off with Parker. As she ran beside him she smiled. "Show time!" she said and dashed into her room. She didn't bother with changing into her fighting vest and trousers, so she glamoured them on, she needed a new pair anyway. She threw her weapons on and threw her cloak around her neck as she ran back down the hall.
~~You live!!!!~~
-
(I do! Barely right now. lol. I'm so dang tired.)
Morgan was on the bridge watching the starry expanse outside. His eyes were scanning every direction in case a CG ship made an appearance. They were ready.
So far they hadn't caught on to the fact that Morgan had switched ship some time ago. The Cursed Pride was not the ship he had started out with and that had given him an edge in staying away from the CG. As long as they didn't draw attention to themselves in the IP, then they were fine.
-
Temrash went to his room and grabbed some things in preparations.
-
((Woot! My first mobile post with my new LG Voyager!))
Parker had finally set his helmet back in place and headed out of the door. He stood once more at a full 7" 6' in his green Hayabusa Mark VII armor. He ensured all his weapons were secured and made his way to stand by Gaz.
"So what's the plan?"
-
Silver made it back to stand by Parker, and heard him talking to Gaz. She waited and listened to sort through it all.
-
(sorry, been busy again)
"The plan is," Morgan said, "we need to get in close. We'll pull into a town dock and the crew will resupply. Make it seem like routine business. We'll take a shuttle and head out to where the facility is. Do what we came to do and meet back up with the ship. To save time, The Pride will meet us in the upper atmo."
Morgan glanced around. "Any questions?"
-
"Are all of us going to fit in one shuttle? I mean, me and the lizard are fairly husky, not to mention your horns."
-
"The shuttles are pretty open," Gaz said. "Not exactly spacious, but it won't be cramped. It's about the size of a large room aside from the ****pit."
-
Parker nodded his head, "Any idea as to our point of entry, specifically?"
-
Elipir, unfortunately, did not get to hear any of that, in fact, he was clueless on what was going on. He decided to ask around, since he was in enemy territory and it's best to be cautious. "Hello Cursed Pride, this is Elipir 851 I haven't contacted you guys in quite a while, because so far, I didn't feel a need to, everything was going smoothly. What are the plans so far now that we are getting closer? Any updates I need to be aware of? "
-
Silver thought about all of it amd was about to say something, when someone had called in for an update.
---------------
~~Ack! better postings later, bad week....~~
-
"I don't have any other questions just yet." Temrash said. "I just hope Eliper is on the level with us. He's a Yeerk and I don't know him, while I'm a famous rebel That the council wants to see on a platter. But I don't have any reason yet to be suspicious of him."
-
Morgan opened up a connection to Elipir's ship and brought him up to speed on what had been said. He also kept the connection open for further discussion.
"Our point of entry will be a side entrance," Morgan said. "At the time the security will be at the other end of the facility. The side we're going in isn't in use at the moment. The wing is under construction. It will be an easy entrance."
"Right," Gaz said, "people don't expect this kind of entrance because no one is supposed to know where the facility is located."
"I'm going to make sure each of you has a map of the facility in case we get split up while inside," Morgan said.
-
"A map would be good." temrash said, and pulled out his commu nicator. "maybe you can upload it into this?"
-
"Not a problem," said Morgan. He nodded at a crew member seated by a computer.
The crew member turned and entered in something. After a moment he said, "The maps should be in everyone's communicator now."
-
Parker shook his head, "No dice, my network is isolated. D'you mind if Thor downloads it from your ship? He'll have to enter your computer."
-
"Not a problem," Morgan said. "I trust you."
To a crew member, Morgan asked, "How are we doing?"
"So far so good," the crew member replied. "Not drawing any attention to ourselves that we don't want."
-
"Not to say that everyone is not capable of not getting caught, but maybe I should shift your forms. Just incase we do get caught. That way if they do see us, Like you said, Temrash, some of us are easy to spot. It wouldn't take much to change your appearnce." Silver said offering up her idea.
-
<No change me.> Jagill said, not wanting his appearance changed.
<Oh don't worry. I'm sure she can just change us back.>
"That sounds feasable. You could make me look more Human?"
-
She nodded. "I can make you look like anything you want. Actually, just think of how you want to look, and my shifting energy flows through your mind and makes what you see in your mind on the outside. I can also change you back at any time." she said truthfully.
-
Temrash thought about the kind of image he wanted. as far as Humans went, parker looked the most impressive. He thought about an image similar to parker's, except with different hair and eye color, and different skin tone. He also imagined some tattoos that looked like Hork Bajir blades on his wrists, elbows, and knees.
-
"All who wished to be changed - and it is a free choice - then think of your image, The rest of you keep your mind blank of thoughts." she said and walked and stood in the middle of the room so she would get everyone. She closed her eyes and placed her hands out palms up in front of her and focused her energy into everyone. those who thought of images would change into that image, those with blank minds would not change at all.
-
"I'll be fine," Gaz said. "I'll just change my clothes. Morgan however...."
She gave a glance at Morgan who just looked back at her.
"What?" she asked. "You do kind of stand out. And if we're trying to sneak in..."
"You have a point," Morgan said after a moment. "I suppose I should be changed."
-
Parker stood silently by the crewman's post and quieted his mind, emptying all thoughts and visions.
Thor jumped from Parker's hand into the crewman's computer. Inside, he searched for the schematics. While inside he browsed around the systems, looking into archives and downloading blueprints of the ship, making sure to leave no traces of his presence. He encountered a few firewalls, but worked around them easily. He jumped back into Parker as everyone went through their changes. He wanted to share what he had learned, but he didn't want Parker to change into an engine's compression system.
-
Elipir took a quick look at himself. and mumbled to himself, "My god, I look like a human now, this mission is gonna be so much easier." Suddenly, his host just had to ruin the moment: <This is Disgusting! I look like one of those stupid monkeys now!> Elipir decided to just ignore that idiot and move on.
-
Silver changed to a new look she had never used before. She had yellow eyes, purple hair and a light blue skin tone. She looked around at those who changed and who didn't and catologued the new ones away so she knew who was who. She went to step forward and wobbled a alittle. "Sorry. Never done a group that big before. But you will stay in your changes no matter what happens, until I change you back." she said.
-
Morgan looked at himself and took a deep breath. Without realizing it, the picture had had in his mind was how he looked right before he had been taken by the CG. In other words: normal. He had longish brown hair, same color as his short coat in minotaur form, dark eyes and an angular face that was still kind.
Gaz walked over and asked quietly, "Are you going to be ok?"
"Yeah," Morgan said after a moment. He tried to chuckle. "No one's going to remember me like this. Perfect disguise, right?"
"10 minutes to atmo!" a crew member announced.
-
Elipir looked at himself again to make sure this illusion was genuine, he looked exactly like his previous host that he lost on Zebes, long brown hair, a beard, and Grey eyes with a trenchcoat. Suddenly, a crew member of the cursed Pride happened to announce it was 10 minutes to atmo, whatever that was.
He then looked at the ship's trajectory and paid very close attention to it just to make sure.
-
"The Pride is going to drop us off some distance away from the facility," Morgan said. "We'll take a shuttle that looks like a local. We'll go through the back entrance as discussed."
"Let's do this," Gaz said.
"Send Elipir the landing coordinates," Morgan instructed and a crew member did so.
-
"We are ready." Temrash said, indicating both him and Jagill. "Let's see what the government of this dimension can do."
-
Silver steadied herself and swung her katana balde into its holster. "Ready." she said while watching and waiting.
-
"Ok," Morgan said, "take us down to the landing site.
Gaz had walked off the bridge and came back in a different set of clothes. They weren't her usual piratey looking outfit but clothes that would make her look more like she fit in for where she came from.
She still had her boots, but a new looking pair of pants and a long sleeve nice looking blue shirt in place of her usual white shirt and vest. Her gun was hidden and her hair looked neater and was actually braided instead of hastily pulled back. The purple streaks had been covered up. She was missing her trademark hat.
"You clean up nicely," Morgan commented.
Gaz was about to reply to the compliment but Morgan wasn't done. He smirked mischievously and added, "You actually look like a girl."
Gaz made a face and said, "Shut up." as she gave Morgan a friendly punch on the arm.
"We're approaching the coordinates," the crew member at the helm announced.

Though her skin and such ad changed, some of her features were still notiveable so she ran her fingers through the plaits keeping her braid together and let the long hair flow around her on her shoulders.
They were landing, so she took up a spot near the exit for sagety. She would help anyway she could.
-
((soooo sorry for not posting!))
After everyone had changed, he figured it would be best to leave his Tommy gun on the ship, mainly because he would stand out with it.
Quickly running back to his room, he placed it on the desk. Quickly looking around, he noticed a little cupboard that he had overlooked before. Opening it, he found a clean shirt that probably belonged to one of the crew or even someone that used the room before him.
Tossing his dirty undershirt and jacket on the bed, he pulled the clean shirt over his head and he then grabbed his jacket.
Quickly, yet cleanly he ripped the rank slides and any other identifying badges off it, he tossed it back on. Taking his Colt M1911A1 pistol out of it's holster, he tucked it into the back of his pants where it wasn't really noticable, and he took three extra magazines and he placed them into the pockets in his pants.
Leaving the room, he closed the door and he headed back towards the bridge.
-
Parker stood motionless by the exit. He didn't care if he stood out; from what intel Thor had gathered on this universe's weaponry, he knew he could take on anything they could dish out. Plus, he doubted anyone would want to take on a 7' 6" robot with two rifles and a shotgun on its back.
-
(sorry about the delay. Been pretty busy.)
Morgan waited while the ship flew to the designated place. When the crew member gave him a signal, Morgan nodded in reply.
"Ok!" Morgan exclaimed. "Follow me to the shuttle and we can get this thing started."
Morgan headed off the bridge and started walking down the hallway.
-
Temrash followed dutifully after Morgan, ready to get things started. for a moment his thoughts drifted back to the bar and what was going on there. He hoped everyone was safe and enjoying themselves as much as possible in that strange place.
-
Silver followed in behind him, pulling her hood over her head as always. It wasn't unusual to see someone with their hood up anymore, so it helped her to blend in and hide her facial features when her hair would not.
-
Morgan stepped into the shuttle and sat himself behind the pilot's chair. Gaz stood behind him and looked over his shoulder.
"On the outside this thing has been disguised to look like a shuttle from the facility," Morgan said, "anything to buy us a little time before the chaos starts and they realize we're not who they think we are."
The shuttle left the ship and began flying towards the destination.
-
As the shuttle took off with a little shudder, John took a seat and he lowered what looked like some form of chest bar/restraint device over his head to make himself feel a little safer.
"Well," he said to the other people in the shuttle "I'm not sure if this is the right saying, but lets 'Rock N' Roll!'"
-
Gaz chuckled and said, "Sounds about right to me. Can't say I'm familiar with it."
A short time later they were pulling up to a portion of a large building that was still under construction.
"Once we land," Morgan said, "we gotta move quickly to get in. From there we'll split into two teams. One team will see if there are any prisoners here. The other will go to wipe out their system. Who wants to do what?"
-
"I can do whichever. Just as long as Silver changes me back when it's time to fight, I can rescue and protect prisoners or cause havok."
-
"I have a feeling there'll be havoc no matter what," Morgan replied. "Well, if you're unsure where to go then you can follow either myself or Gaz. Gaz will be heading towards the main system to wipe it out. I'll be heading towards the holding area."
-
Parker gave a quick salute, "Thor and I will take the system out. If Silver goes with Morgan, then I recommend those that can fight in their altered states come with me. We'll need to meet at a rendezvous point afterward. With the simplicity of your systems, it shouldn't take Thor too long to break in. Just tell him which systems need to be taken out, controlled, or enabled, and it'll be done. I'm patched into your comm, so you can give directions that way."
Parker was finally glad to be back in the action. He enjoyed rec time, but he's been in the **** since he was a boy, so he was used to constant action. Going against a covert government operation meant there would be heavy opposition, and that just meant more fun for him.
"Now Thor can enter the system at any point, but it would go smoother if we stopped them from interfering at the main control, so that's where my team should go; unless you have other plans of course. Do you have any specs on where that is?"
-
Morgan handed over a chip. "This has a copy of the facility map. The system core will be one level up from where we're entering. As far as what should be wiped? Everything. This place is dedicated to only one thing. The public is given a different message, of course."
"Ok," Gaz said, "we're here. Let's get moving."
The shuttle opened and Gaz took off in one direction towards the system core and Morgan headed off in another towards where captives would be held.
-
"I'll be going with Morgan then. Good luck everyone."
-
Parker followed Gaz toward the System Core. "Gaz, how far is the control room from the core? I'll take them out to squash any resistance to Thor's infiltration."
-
SIlver chimed in, those who cannot fight in there altered state with me, I'm following Morgan to the holding area." she said and followed them out.
"If there does happen to be a fight, I will change you quickly." she told them on the go.
-
Elipir could fight even as a human. He didn't have his scythe but he was pretty sure his other weapons could more than make up for it. He thought about it for a bit and decided to go with Gaz and Parker to provide additional support. As he walked, he watched cautiously for enemies.
-
Parker looked down to Elipir's human form and extended his hand, "The name's Parker. What have you got to work with; and you, Gaz, what're you packing?"
Parker had hoped to get a feeling of his assets as far as allies go. If any of his new friends needed more covering than the other, he wanted to know which one to help more.
-
"Hi, I'm Elipir and it's really nice to meet you guys in person. You're wondering what weapons I have? That thing on my arm is a Galvanic accelerator cannon, but it actually works like a machine gun, those pirates love to give their stuff some crazy names. My other weapon is a Dracon Beam." ((OOC: Going to bed. I just looked at the time and it's 4:00 in the morning!))
-
"I've got my usual weapon," Gaz said referring to the gun she usually wore at her hip.
When they a stairway, Gaz pointed. Indicating they needed to go up one floor.
"When we get up the stairs," Gaz said, "It'll be two doors down to the right."
Meanwhile, Morgan was walking down the opposite direction Gaz had gone towards a room at the end of the hall around the corner.
"Alright," Morgan said, "When we get in that room, I'm sure there'll be a couple of workers to take out. Be prepared."
-
"I'm right behind you, Morgan."
-
"Not a problem, holograms are my specialty remember?" she smiled.
-
Following Morgan, he quickly whipped his old Colt 1911A1 pistol out from where he'd stashed it, and he snapped a round into the chamber with a 'click'.
Keeping back a few paces from the rear, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck begin to stand on end.
-
(I'm so sorry this has been neglected. I've been understandably busy lately. But with summer, I'll have a bit more time)
Morgan glanced around the corner.
"We're still clear so far," he said quietly, "if you see or hear something...try to act like you belong here. We want to avoid trouble as long as possible."
Reaching into his pocket, Morgan pulled out something that he handed to the others.
"This is something I got from Asda before we left," Morgan whispered. "Just inject it into any workers in the holding room and they'll be out for at least 3 hours. Personally, I think getting just knocked out is too good for these people, but Asda insisted I take these."
At the other end of things, Gaz also glancing down the hallway towards the room that held the main database for the facility.
"Ok," she said, "that's what we're aiming for. There's a bit of activity. Morgan said we should avoid trouble as long as possible. What do you think the best way to approach this is? I'm a pirate, I don't do quiet entrances."
-
~~Haha pirate has a point, and no biggie, people have lives to keep as well as things to do. (=^_^=)~~
-------------------
Silver frowned at the injections, but shrugged and slipped it into one of the many loops on her belt under her cloak and looked around non-chalantly.
-
"Sometimes it's best to use nonlethal methods if it decreases the chance of being pursued after making a getaway." Temrash said, also quietly.
(Yeah, this is going very slowly. Someone mentioned somewhere that it would be best if we took a break from taking the off planet trips and just stay at the bar for more than two minutes before taking off again.)
-
(Yeah, I'm going to try and pick things up so we can finish this. lol. It's been going on a while. That's what I get for starting this during student teaching. lol)
Morgan clenched and unclenched his fists for a moment before he said, "Ok, let's get this over with. I'm hoping that we won't find anyone in that room."
Morgan strode forward and walked into the room. As he did, an elderly doctor turned around and said, "You shouldn't be in here! The construction work is at the other end of the facility."
There was a stunned silence before Morgan spoke again. "You don't recognize me. Do you, doctor?"
Morgan was getting close. He was right next to the Doctor before the elderly man said, "It can't be! You were...."
"Tortured?" Morgan offered before he plunged the injection into the man's arm.
"Let's see if there's anyone in those holding rooms."
Meanwhile, Gaz was trying to think of a strategy. As stated, stealth was not her strong point. Pirates weren't known for being sneaky. They were only sneaky when trying to get away.
"Well," Gaz said, "I suppose let's go for it. We just gotta get things started erasing."
-
Temrash began checking the holding rooms, but there wasn't much light entering them to see with. He was hesitant to just open the door, as any prisoner might take that chance to rush out noisily and possibly harm them.
-
Parker put a hand in front of Gaz and said, "With respect, I think a seven foot shielded barricade might be safer going in first. He stepped in front of her and started off in the direction Thor had placed the waypoint marking their destination.
((Gaz, maybe you should say what, if any, forces come out after us. I'll respond accordingly to attacks, but alarm activations and reinforcements are all yours to call. Is that cool?))
-
Silver had stood statue still in the doorway while her father had jumped the doctor. She moved to check the holding cells as soon as the doctor was down. "What did he mean by 'construcion'? They cannot seriously be adding on to this Hell hole..." she said as she checked. The first one was actually empty.
-
"To them, this is an acceptable business practice. As with all businesses, they will want to expand their facilities to make room for new and bigger projects. The key is to not think of these victims as people." Temrash said with irritation in his voice.
-
(ok, sorry about delay. I was in the car driving back home. all day yesterday.)
Morgan walked over to a computer to check records before they were all wiped. He brought up a file and after reading it slammed his fist into the screen. The result was a spiderweb of cracks.
"They've already been moved!" Morgan growled. "There were people here, but they're gone."
Meanwhile, Gaz nodded at Parker's suggestion and waited to see who would come out of the room. She held up her weapon just in case.
Around the corner, Gaz glanced and saw a technician coming down the hall.
"I got this," Gaz said as she walked out to meet the man.
Smiling in a friendly way that was not normal for her, Gaz approached the man and flashed a badge quickly.
"Hi," she said, "I'm new here and am completely lost. They sent me an old layout and..."
The man was quiet a moment and said, "Uh...sure....I can help. What are you trying to find?"
"I'm trying to find the nurse's station," Gaz said with a sigh.
"Wow," the man said, "you really are lost. I can take you over that way."
"I would really appreciate that," Gaz replied with fake relief.
Before the man started walking he said, "I don't suppose you'd want to---"
He didn't get to finish his thought because in a flash, Gaz was behind him with a hand gripping his arm.
"Don't say anything," Gaz commanded him quietly. "I'm sure you know what's poking you in the back right now. Here's what you're going to do. You're going to let us into that room over there with no trouble."
"Us?" the man dared to ask.
Gaz moved the man forward a couple of feet and turned his attention to the others down the hall. Of course, his attention was focused mainly on Parker.
"You noticed him, huh?" Gaz asked. "See...if you give us any trouble...my friend over there is going to give you trouble of your own. Get my meaning?"
The man nodded.
"Good," Gaz said, "now...how many people are in there right now?"
At first the man was quiet, but was motivated to answer when the faint sound of Gaz's gun warming up was heard.
"Two," he said, "one tech and one guard."
"I hope you're not lying to me," Gaz whispered threateningly. "Now, open the door."
-
"Probably moved to where they're doing the new construction. Maybe we can wake up the guy over there and get some answers. We might be able to get them all the faster if I made an inside job, if you know what I mean."
-
Parker nodded to Gaz with approval and moved to the door. He put his hand to the security lock and commented to Gaz, "Keep him quiet."
Thor jumped into the security lock, rerouted security protocols and unlocked the door. He jumped back into Parker's armor and said, <That access point was too limited, I need to access the main console.>
Parker pressed the button on the door to open the door. When the door slid open enough for him to slip through, Parker rushed the guard, and grabbed him by the neck and lited him off the ground, with his other hand, he removed his shotgun and pointed it at a scared-frozen tech's head. Parker nudged the shotgun's barrel upwards motioning the tech to get out of the chair. The tech, still staring down the barrel, slowly stood up and raised his hands. Parker nudged the shotgun off to the side and the tech followed the unspoken command.
The guard, clutching Parker's arm in an effort to not suffocate, tried to squirm from his grasp. He kicked at Parker's side, only hurting his foot in the process. He coughed out a question, "Wha-what do you want?"
Parker ignored the guard and gripped harder closing the man's esophagus. He kicked and squirmed until he went limp. Parker released the guard and let him fall to the floor. He turned back to the tech, who jumped seeing he was again the center of attention, and said aloud to Elipir, "Watch him."
Parker lowered his shotgun and walked to the console. He hovered his hand over the console and Thor jumped from his gauntlet to the console. Parker turned to Gaz and said, "He's in."
Thor's image came up on the main screen and his voice came from the room's PA system, "So, Gaz, what do you want to know?"
-
Morgan sighed and said, "I'm going to send Gaz a message. Maybe they can find out before they wipe the system."
Moments later, Gaz glanced at her pad and said, "Morgan sent a message. He says there's no one in the holding cells. All he can gather is that they were moved...yesterday. He wants to know if it says where they were transfered to. Then he wants us to wipe it clean."
-
"Yes sir, I will do my best" Suddenly, the tech made a funny movement that suggested that he was about to run off. Elipir caught that and put his Dracon Beam up to his face and whispered. "Alright, we can either do this the easy or the hard way, but try to escape and your life is forfeit." After that threat, he stayed put.
-
Thor nodded his head and disappeared from the screen. He searched through files, dodging anti-virus programs and bypassing firewalls. After decrypting the correct file, he accessed the buildings Wi-Fi network. He sent the unencrypted file to Gaz's pad, then erased all trace of the transfer. He then sent her the personal files of each subject. He then made a copy of anything looking important along with some technology specs and wiped the memory banks. He made certain to unlock all doors before wiping the security protocols. He inverted the automatic defense system's definitions on who were friendlies and hostiles.
Five seconds from when Thor disappeared, he reappeared saying, "Done. Files tranferred to your data pad. All doors are unlocked, automatic defense systems now are targeting building employees, and the entire core is wiped blank."
Parker nods his head and Thor jumps back into his armor.
-
"Ok, we can examine this back on the Pride," Gaz said. "We better get out of here. Morgan will meet us back at the shuttle."
Meanwhile, Morgan was saying, "Alright! Let's head back to the shuttle. CG officers are going to be showing up any minute. It won't take them very long to notice what we did."
-
"Right. let's move." Temrash said, and started backtracking while keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. He stopped at the place where they split into two groups to wait on the others.
-
Parker asked quickly, "What about the tech, he saw your face, this is your home universe, he could lead them to you."
Post Merged: May 12, 2010, 05:20:22 PM
((Oh, remember, if/when the cops show up, the building's defenses will help us.))
-
Gaz glanced back at the tech who was holding his head looking dazed.
"Oh, him," Gaz said, "well..I may or may not have injected him with something that would fog up his memory while you were busy."
Meanwhile a voice could be heard yelling, "Get those defenses turned off!"
"The computers aren't working!"
"What do you mean they aren't working?!"
Gaz tried to keep from smirking as she ran up to the shuttle.
Morgan was heading inside as they got there.
-
"Well, I'd say we're making progress at least." Temrash said as he made his way into the ship.
-
Parker held up the rear in case any stray shots made it their way. He stopped just short of the shuttle to make sure Silver made it inside unharmed.
-
Elipir said to the tech:"Mission Complete. It appears that I have to leave now. Thank you for your cooperation and for that I will let you live." Elipir lowered his Dracon beam and went to catch up with the rest of the group.
-
Silver followed the rest of them back to the shuttle. She stopped by Parker long enough to give him a confident wink and dashed inside.
-
Parker smiled inside his helmet as Silver gave him a wink, and he nodded to her as she ran past. With her on board, he felt okay getting on the shuttle. The police were getting more and more shots in, apparently the parimeter defenses weren't doing so well. With a higher rate of fire coming in, Parker's shields began to drop quicker. He ducked to the side behind what cover he could muster. He peeked out and saw the ancient Marine still running for the ship, so he withdrew his Battle Rifle and started aiming around the fleeing soldier. With Full Metal Jacket, armor piercing rounds being the standard for ammo in Parker's universe, the local police didn't stand much of a chance. After the first three officers fell, the others took cover and shot wildly. With so few choices, Parker began targeting the officers as they peeked over their barriers. After the next two fell with wounds where their eyes used to be, the firing became even more wild as they didn't dare look anymore.
((I think Hunter's the last person we're waiting for, right?))
-
~~I think so...~~
-----------------
Silver seen Parker idn't come in, so she rounded back and found him firing at the now scatter-shots. She rolled her eyes and went to his side. She threw her hood back and pulled out her bow and arrows and began to shoot. Not a shot hit her as she knelt there on one knee, but she took out quite a few. Her arrows began to dwindle so she threw her arms out and shouted, "Flame!" Within seconds many were running away with the thought that they were burning in fire, but it was only an illusion. While they were distraceted with her illusions, Parker had an easier shot and less to dodge.
-
"What, are we sticking around to play with them?" Temrash asked as he saw Silver exit the ship. He pulled his dracon beams out and set them to high to penetrate the cover the enemy was using. When his shots began burning through what the enemy thought were safe points, they retreated farther back. They started calling for extinguishers for the fire that may or may not be real.
-
"Extinguishers?" Silver laughed. "Well, that won't help at all, the fire isn't real, poor things." she laughed as she fired another shot.
-
With the help of Silver and Temrash, Parker's shields were able to fully recharge. He took the moment to pull two of his custom SEMTEX grenades he made earlier and threw them high and angled them to land behind enemy cover. With two loud blasts, all firing stopped. The sounds of guns firing was replaced with the cries of the wounded. Parker stood perfectly still out in the open taking in what he wrought. He never enjoyed the screams of humans; even as a child soldier, when they were trained to become desensitized of their effects, Parker always felt the pain and accepted that he caused it. Hopefully this cease fire would give the young, ancient, Marine time to make it into the shuttle.
-
As he was running full-pelt towards the shuttle, he heard shots coming from behind him. Firing his pistol backwards as he ran, he heard a large explosion, which was probably caused by the guy in the armour.
Getting to where the walking tank was standing, he took in a few deep breaths and he said, between breaths "I'm... sorry I called you a... Nazi back at the bar when I was... slipping in and out of conciousness"
-
After the Marine's apology, Parker looks down and gives him a curt nod, "Though you may have thought it, you never called me anything. So you've nothing to apologize for. Just hurry on, huh?" Parker then turns around and enters the shuttle. As he passes Silver, he lightly places his hand on her shoulder and says, "Thank you" lightly and walks further into the shuttle to Morgan. "Sir, everyone is aboard and accounted for."
-
"Got it!" Morgan replied and started up the shuttle.
Gaz was sitting at a station and said, "Here's hoping the distraction will last long enough for us to meet back up with the Pride."
"Not a problem," Morgan said. "They're on the way. Once we're out of sight of the facility, then the Pride will pick us up."
A few minutes later, the Pride was in sight in the distance hovering in wait.
-
"Now that they know we're here, our disguises may be moot. Silver, if you don't mind I should like my blades back." Temrash said. Jagill agreed.
-
Silver smiled back at Parker and followed him in. After a bit she heard Temrash asking for his original form again. "You do have a point." she nodded. She went through the same act as she had when she created the forms only this time she reversed her chant and the disguises had disappeared. When she was finished she dropped her amrs. One brushed against her side and she felt something wet and warm. She looked down and seen her cloak had a blood stain, and growing slowly. She pushed back her cloak and seen one of the bullets had grazed her side. It wasn't deep wnough that it was a complete hit, but it grazed her bad enough. Now that her adrenaline was spent, she was feeling the effects of her blood loss. "Goddess, that's gunna hurt later." she said, not quite feeling the pain. Just then the room started to sway and go out of focus.
-
Parker turned to look back at Silver and saw she had a strange look, as though she was about to pass out. He rushed to her side and scooped her up in his arms. Thor appeared over her body and spoke through Parker's external speakers, "It appears as though she's been hit. From the amount of blood and the time from the crossfire, I'd say the bleeding is slow and managable."
Parker turned back to Morgan, "Where's your medical kit? Silver was hit in the fire exchange."
-
"Bugger.....I thought he missed...." she said as she laid her head against him. She gave a little frown and said, "Why does the room always have to move?"
-
Parker looked down and said, "Heh, it's gonna be okay. The bleeding isn't bad. We'll patch you up nice and quick."
-
"Don't move. You'll be fine." Temrash said. He grabbed some of her cloak in a bundle and held it firmly on her side for pressure.
<Tell her to do the morphing thing. Heal herself.>
<I don't think what she does is the same as morphing. She can't just heal herself.
"Let's get her somewhere that she can sit down." He said to Parker.
-
Parker laid her down gently on a bench lined with harnesses and stayed kneeling next to her, supporting her head. He would've been able to patch her up were they on a Pelican; they always have a can of biofoam on hand. SPARTAN suits have biofoam dispensers built into the armor, so they never have to worry about carrying kits.
-
Silver gave a muffled groan as he laid her down and she closed her eyes to stop the room frmo spinning. "Eesh, the room can go pretty quick." she thought.
-
Morgan glanced back, now in his Minotaur form again, and cursed under his breath.
Grabbing his comm he said, "Asda! Get the med bay ready. We're coming in with an injury."
-
((I'm not entirely certain who we're waiting on, so I'll just post some filler. :donno: ))
Parker stroked Silver's hair and said, "Don't worry, we're almost to the ship. They'll fix you up right there."
-
(Things are just moving slowly, I think.)
Shortly after, the shuttle had docked with the ship. Morgan lifted Silver onto a hover gurney.
"Push that thing and follow me," Morgan said, "Asda's waiting in the Med Bay."
Morgan moved out of the shuttle and into the ship. Went down a couple of halls into the medical bay.
Asda was waiting and ready with instruments out and sterilized.
"Once you get her off the gurney onto the table, I'm going to need an assist," Asda said. "Parker, did you get any scans of her vitals before bringing her here? Any information that I should know?"
-
Parker followed Morgan careful to not jar Silver in any way. After placing her onto the table, Thor projected himself over her body and spoke through Parker's speakers, "The wound is not fatal, however she has lost a significant amount of blood. Recommended treatment is: sutre, disinfectant, and rest."
Parker spoke after Thor, "Thank you Thor. Yeah, it was just an 'in and out' shot. We stopped the bleeding, but she could still get an infection if she's not closed up. I don't know how much blood was lost, but I have a typo O blood type if you need any."
-
Temrash hadn't followed them into medbay, as they should be able to find it themselves. Instead he went to the commons area to wait until their next destination.
-
Asda ran a quick scan of her own, it was her nature to double check things. That and things could have changed since the last scan.
"A transfusion would be best," Asda said as she checked the injury. "It's not serious, but she has lost a significant amount of blood. We don't have time for a test, so I'll have to take you up on that offer, Parker. Let's close her up and then we'll take care of the transfusion."
With one set of arms Asda was cleaning the area while with the other set she was prepping the suture kit.
"Grab that injector," Asda said to Parker, "it'll keep her out for a little bit longer while I stitch her up."
Meanwhile, Gaz had gone to the bridge. She figured the Medical bay would be crowded enough. She didn't want to distract Morgan either. Silver's injury wasn't serious, but she knew he would be concerned nonetheless.
Once she was up there she said to the pilot. "Get us out of here. Set a course back for the black, you know what to do."
The crewman nodded, it was a familiar routine.
-
Parker took the injector and gave Silver the sedative. He then removed his helmet and placed it on a counter to the side. He extended his neck and said, "This is the best access to my veins you'll have without a long process of taking off my armor."
-
Asda glanced over and said, "It'll do."
Then her attention was on the wound. She had started to close it up and was muttering to herself as she did.
"No major damage," she muttered, "that's good. No major veins or arteries hit."
A moment later the injury was closed and covered.
"When she wakes up she should take it easy for a while," Asda said, "I don't want to be replacing ripped stitches."
Asda washed her hands and motioned for Parker to step closer. She had the equipment ready.
"I'm going to need you to sit in that seat next to Silver," Asda said with a smirk. "You're a tad bit taller than I am."
-
Parker took the seat and tried not to knock anything over. He then extended and twisted his neck so Asda wouldn't have any trouble getting to any blood vessels. "Ready when you are."
-
Asda stepped over and gently poked at the side of Parker's neck until she found a suitable vein. She swabbed it and picked up the needle. Attached was a bag that would collect the blood.
"I don't think I need to give you too much warning about the prick, right?" Asda asked as she stuck the needle into the vein and secured it in place.
"You're gonna have one heck of a stiff neck when we're done," Asda commented. "I need you to try and not move your neck too much until we're done. Shouldn't take long."
-
Parker smiled and said, "Don't worry doc, I was on a sniping mission when I was twelve, waiting for a week for our target. I think I'll be okay like this for a few minutes." He then lightly placed his hand on Silver's forehead, closed his eyes, and concentrated on not moving.
-
Asda nodded and set about a few minor chores about the med bay while she waited for the bag to fill up. She glanced over every so often to see how it was coming along.
"That should do it," Asda said as she took the bag in one set of hands and removed the needle with the other.
"I'll get this ready," Asda said as she walked over to a machine. "Will just take a moment."
-
Parker stretched his neck regaining full mobility. "Thanks doc." He stayed where he was watching Silver's unconscious face, looking to make sure she stayed okay. Every once in a while he glanced to see what Asda was doing, but for the most part his full attention was on Silver.
-
Morgan had remained quiet during the whole time. He was glad that the injury was minor. He had just found his daughter again, he wasn't sure what would happen to him if he lost her again.
"You alright, Captain?" Asda asked as she walked by.
Morgan sighed. "Yeah," he said, "I'm fine. You do good, Doc. Don't know what this ship would do without you. Do you ever miss your hospital job? You were one of the top in your field."
Asda was walking back to Silver with the prepped transfusion.
"Wouldn't change a thing," Asda replied. "After learning what that hospital was doing for the CG. Can't believe they would condone such a thing and there are doctors that go along with it."
While she was talking, Asda had been setting everything up and had gotten the transfusion started.
"I still owe you for getting me out of there," Morgan said.
Asda shook her head. "Nonsense," she said.
-
A little while after the transfusion had been put into place, Silver squeezed her eyes tight before opening them and then closing them against the bright lights and gave a groaning sound. She turned her head to the side, hoping it would block the lights. She heard voices around her and it sent a twinge of fear through her. She hadn't remembered what had happened. "Where am I?" she wonderd and was almost afraid that she was back at the lab where so many doctor's had poked, prodded, and tested her and she gave a whimper. Then everything came flooding back to her and she remembered that she had been hit in a crossfire and had passed out.
-
Parker felt Silver moving her head about more rapidly, he then heard her whimper, "Doc, she's waking up!" He got up and moved his hand from her forehead to her cheek, "Silver, Silver, it's okay. You're aboard The Cursed Pride in the med bay. Silver, can you hear me?"
-
The images of the past kept threatening to invade her conciousness and she shook her head again whimpering out, "No!"
-
Parker couldn't tell what was happening to Silver, but he knew it wasn't good. He tried to calm her 'til Asda could help her. He kept his voice low and calm, "Silver, I need you to concentrate on my voice. Listen to only my voice. What you're seeing isn't real. You're safe on board your father's ship. You're safe. There's nothing here that will harm you. Nothing can harm you."
-
She heard a voice that didn't match the memories. She tried to listen to that voice. It mentioned her father. Soft tears began to fall from her eyes. Her father was here now, she remembered him. "Father...." she said softly.
-
When Silver uttered the word "father", Parker hooked onto that. Keeping his voice calm, he continued, "Yes your father. He's here, here on the ship with you. You're safe here, with your father, with Morgan. Picture your father. Picture him there with you. He'll keep you safe from whatever you see. He'll protect you from whatever attacks. Nothing will hurt you."
-
She listened and pictured him there with her. The memories began to receed back into the dark where she had left them. Slowly and one by one. She shook her head once more before slowly opening her eyes to the room.
-
Parker looked into Silver's eyes as she opened them and smiled, "Hey, there you are. Welcome back beautiful."
-
As she focused, she seen Parker before her. She had been breathing a little heavily from fear, but looking into his eyes helped. "Parker." she said, not a question but a statement.
-
Keeping his voice soft, though unable to hide the excitement, Parker replied, "Hey. Yeah it's me." He stroked her hair, "You gave us a scare for a moment."
-
Morgan heard Silver's voice and said, "Welcome back, darlin'. Glad to see you still with us." He put a hand on her arm.
"Look who's awake," Asda said as she came into view. "Take it easy, Silver. You lost a lot of blood. We're giving you a transfusion right now. Nearly done though."
That was when she went back into doctor mode. "I want you to tell me how you feel."
-
Parker moved away from Silver to allow room for Morgan and Asda. He took the time to recollect his helmet. He left it off and just held it at his side.
-
She laid a hand on her Father's which rested on her arm, and then she looked at Asda. "I feel drained, tired. A littls sore, but otherwise, I feel okay." she told her.
-
"That's good to hear," Asda said. "You'll have to take it easy for a few days so you don't rip the stitches. The transfusion will be done in just a few minutes."
"Gotta promise not to scare me like that anymore," Morgan said with a chuckle.
(I'll post more after I grab lunch)
-
Parker sat back watched Silver conversating with her father. He was happy she was conscious and wanted to give her time to just speak with Morgan. He wanted to replentish the grenade he threw, but he didn't want to leave Silver's side; nor did he show any signs of wanting to leave. He sat back with his arms crossed and a warm smile on his face.
-
Morgan used his other hand to grab his communicator.
"Gaz," he said, "how are things up there?"
"Quiet so far," Gaz said, "and that makes me nervous. After a caper like we just pulled...quiet concerns me. Too many things happen when it's quiet."
"Did you send the info we grabbed to Cortex?" Morgan asked.
"No worries," Gaz replied, "he'll send it back when he's certain it's clean. Should be soon. By the way did I mention..."
"Yeah," Morgan interrupted, "you did. They won't be coming after us. They were too busy with the distraction and they never got an ID on the Pride. Shuttle was disguised, couldn't be traced to us."
"Well," Gaz said after a moment, "we're gonna have to stop at a mid-planet to re-fuel and re-supply before we head back to the bar. Just letting ya know."
"Took a long time to get to that point, didn't ya?" Morgan said before he put his communicator away.
He turned back to the others. "Mid-planets are sort of the equivalent of the middle class. Not as crowded and high class as the Inner Planets and not as out there as the Outers. Hope you don't mind a brief pit stop."
-
"It wasn't intentional, I promise." she smiled. She took a couple of breaths to stop the small dizziness she had. While her father talked to Gaz, she turned her head and seen Parker and smiled softly.
-
Parker returned Silvers smile. When Morgan addressed them his face whipped back to his normal serious soldier expression. He stood, placing his hands behind him in the "at ease" position and said, "Not at all sir. I request to stay with Silver. In case trouble shows up, I would be able to protect her in her fragile state."
-
Morgan blinked for a second and said, "You really don't have to call me sir. We're kind of...outlaws. We keep it loosey-goosey."
Asda raised her eyebrows as she got ready to remove the transfusion equipment. "Did you really just say that?"
Morgan paused for a second and said, "Um...yes. Yes, I did."
"Promise me you'll never say it again?" Asda asked.
"I can safely guarantee that," Morgan replied.
"I'm taking out the needle," Asda informed Silver, "but I need you to lie there for a bit longer."
-
Silver laughed at what he said and then nodded her understanding to Asda. She didn't feel like she could get up just yet anyway.
-
Parker stood perfectly still and gave a short one-sided shake of his head, "No sir. With respect, you are the captain of this ship and father to the woman I care about. Outlaw or not, you are the ranking officer on this ship and shall be treated as such, sir."
-
Morgan shrugged. "If you insist," he said.
"Silver should probably get something into her system," Asda said. "I'd recommend someone go down to the dining room and bring her back juice or something with sugar in it."
"Morgan," came Gaz's voice. "Cortex is going to be sending us the information back to the computer."
"Good," said Morgan. "When it's ready I'll look at in on the screen in here."
-
Parker was confused. Morgan shrugged, shrugged. He had just told the man that he cared for his daughter, and he shrugged? This was an odd universe indeed. He looked to Silver with kinder eyes and gave her a small smile. He then looked to Morgan again, his face neutral once more, "My request still stands sir."
-
She watched as he and her father conversed and she seen in Parker's eyes what her father's reaction had meant to him. She returned his smile with a tender one of her own.
-
Temrash went back to the medbay to check on Silver. He figured they should be done by now. "Hey, how is she?" He said as he opened the door and peered inside. "I brought you something to drink, Parker. Good to drink soemthing after giving a blood transfusion."
-
Silver heard someone enter and looked up. "Hey Temrash." she smiled when she seen him. "It'll take more than the CG to get rid of me." she said in a stubborn tone, though they knew she was joking.
-
"That's what I like to hear. I'm glad you're doing alright. Even though it was a minor thing, all injuries should be taken seriously. Unless you have crazy old guys like me who get wounds like this and still want to fight." He said while pointing to one of his bigger scars.
-
Parker accepted the drink with an appreciative nod. Even though he knew it wasn't necessary, he didn't want to offend Temrash. He sat back down and began drinking. After Silver's comment he gave a small affirming chuckle.
-
She laughed and said, "You aren't a crazy old guy. Just old." she teased.
-
"Aww, thanks." Temrash said with a smile. "War makes you feel old, though, so avoid it at all costs. War is bad, but I think most sensible people realize that anyway."
-
Morgan's head was filled with a dozen thoughts all at once. When he got like that, it sometimes took what people said a little time to filter through.
Asda had caught what Parker had said, but had chosen to say nothing until it registered with Morgan.
"Wait a moment," she whispered. "It'll sink in shortly. He's got a lot on his mind, you understand."
Morgan was walking over to Asda's computer screen when the conversation finally sunk in. He furrowed his brow, uncertain that he had heard correctly.
"There we go," Asda muttered.
"Say that one more time," Morgan said as he turned his head. It wasn't a threatening tone, rather it was one that asked for clarification.
-
At Temrash's comment about being "bad", Parker went into his thousand yard stare. He hadn't yet gone through today's battle completely, and he was processing as much as he could, learning from their formations and... lack of skill."
When Morgan had asked Parker to repeat his request, he snapped out of his trance and stood once more, regaining his composure and stance. He repeated his request, "I request to stay behind with Silver while she recuperates from her injury to protect her from any possible threats."
-
Morgan nodded and said, "Sure. I know she'll be well looked after."
He walked over to the computer on the other side of the room where the information was being uploaded from Cortex. The screen was facing away from the group, so Morgan was facing their direction.
A male voice was heard coming from the computer.
"Hey, Morgan," the voice said. It was mid-range. Neither high nor deep, and it sounded young. The voice also sounded...nervous. More than likely about the message he would be relaying.
The voice continued, "I just wanted to give you a heads up about something you're going to see in the files."
"I don't like where this is going," Asda said quietly as she did post-op scans on Silver. "I wish Cortex would just get on with it."
"I'm going to let you read for yourself," the voice said, "just....try not to over react. Ok?"
Morgan was extremely confused, but opened the files. What in the 'verse was Cortex babbling about? Whatever it was, it was serious. Cortex had never sounded that nervous before, but something in the files obviously bothered him. After a few minutes of skimming the files, Morgan found out what it was.
Morgan's heart raced as his nostrils flared and eyes glowered in anger. His fist clenched and drove it through the computer screen as he cried out in a combination of anger and anguish.
"That can't be good," Asda commented.
-
Parker nodded and thanked him for the compliment. He sat back down and started drinking again until Morgan punched through the computer screen. Parker stood up again, quicker than usual, "What's wrong?"
-
"I'm thinking one of us should have looked through the file first." Temrash said to Parker. "Less likely to wreck something afterwards."
-
Morgan was breathing deeply. His fist was covered in minor cuts from the screen, but he didn't seem to care.
"They had her!" he bellowed. "All these years, all I've been through! She was there the whole time! They've had her locked up in that...place all this time! But it can't be true...it can't be. I thought she was dead!!"
Asda put her upper hands over her mouth in shock. Realization all over her face, black eyes wide.
"Oh gods," she gasped behind her hands. "You don't mean..."
"We were too late!" Morgan raged. "We came too late! I had a second chance to save her and....and..."
Unable to continue, Morgan instead swung the fist he had used to slam through the computer into a nearby wall instead. Afterwards he sunk to his knees in utter anguish.
-
Temrash looked at Morgan, and at Silver, and remembered that he too lost the people he loved. Though he also knew they were dead, as Andalites tend not to keep prisoners like that.
"We might still have that chance. We can find out where they moved her, and get her. You have warriors the likes these people have never seen, and we can make sure you get your wife back."
-
Parker registered Temrashes oddly timed joke, but didn't react. When he heard what Morgan was saying, he came to know what he was talking about. His eyes too widened with shock. He looked to the floor and said to him, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
-
(Did I make a joke?)
-
Silver listened silently as all of this sunk in. She wasn't quite sure what to say, she stared absently up at the ceiling, but her eyes were filled with sorrow and sadness.
--------------------
~~Going to class night. Graduation is tomorrow, be back on in a few hours.~~
-
Parker made his way silently to where he had given blood and sat back down. He took Silver's hand in his and just sat there in silence.
((Alrighty, see ya later.))
-
Asda dashed over to Morgan and grabbed the hand that was bleeding. Morgan tried to pull away but Asda latched on with all four hands.
"We have to find her," Morgan said, past the yelling stage for the moment.
"That goes without say," Asda replied as she began patching up Morgan's hand.
"All this time," Morgan continued, "she's been alive. If only I had known!" Then, Morgan's voice got threathing, "For their sake...they better not have done anything to her."
"Thankfully those files were kept on the ship's main system and not just my computer," Asda commented, attempting to lighten the mood.
"I'll send someone to fix it," Morgan replied apologetically.
-
Parker spoke up, "No need. Once we get back to the bar, I have a friend that can rebuild it."
-
"I'd appreciate that," Asda said.
"Parker makes a good point," Gaz said as she walked in. "I was in the hallway. I heard everything. Came down once I knew the files were coming in. We need to go back to the bar and re-group. See what Cortex knows. Right now the bar is the safest place until things in the Inner Planets settle after our caper."
Morgan nodded reluctantly. "Tell the pilot to send us back to the white."
"Already did," Gaz replied, "we'll be back in the white in less than 5 minutes. We'll be heading back to the bar full speed. We'll be there in half a day."
-
Silver squeezed her eyes shut a moment and a few tears ran down her face. "She has to be okay." she whisperd, latching on to the hope that she would find her.
-
Parker lightly gripped Silver's hand and stroked her hair, "Don't worry. She'll be fine. We'll get her back."
-
She gripped his hand in return, but it didn't stop the tears she felt. She only had vague memories of her, and that was it. To even think of having a chance to see her again......She had been told to take it easy, but the emotional stress on her began to make her feel dizzy again.
-
Temrash was less optomistic about Morgan's wife. Chances were that she wasn't okay, especially since she was related to the one that got away from them. he didn't voice it, though, since Silver was already a bit distressed.
"As long as she's alive, there is hope." It was the best he could say while being honest.
-
((A real beacon of hope you are. ::) ;) ;D ))
-
"We'll do whatever it takes," Gaz said. "I'm going to go grab something from the dining hall. Capers make me hungry. Then I'll send a message to Cortex."
Asda was nearly finished with Morgan's hand.
Morgan sighed deeply.
"Something's bothering you," Asda said. "What is it?"
"What will she think when she sees me?" Morgan answered. "It's been a long time. I'm not the man I used to be. I'm not even a man anymore."
Asda finished bandaging Morgan's hand and replied firmly, "I don't think that's going to matter to her. What's important is that you don't punch through anymore computer screens."
-
"Morgan, your daughter seems to like you just fine and she hasn't met you beforehand. Has she?" Temrash said. "Your wife will still love you. Your family will find a way to work things out once you are reunited."
-
Silver heard his worry and looked over at him. "Father." she said and then she remmbered something. "Remember I told you that I had dreamt of a woman for years and you told me that she was my mother. She told me many things in my dreams. One was that if you truly love someone, you never stop loving them, no matter what happens." she told him, as her soft tears still flowed.
-
Morgan stood up and placed a hand on Silver's arm.
"That sounds like something she would say," Morgan commented. "She'd be right, of course."
"We're back in the white, captain," came a voice over the comm. "Should be back at the bar in about 5 hours traveling at top speed."
"Thanks," Morgan replied. "Soon as we're back we can strategize in the bar. Look more over the information that Cortex sent and see if he has anything else that he discovered."
-
She raised her free hand and took her Fathers to help reassure him, to let him know she was there for him.
-
The Cursed Pride spend through the white, or z-space, faster than it ever had before.
"Captain," came a voice over the comm, "we're approaching the bar. Preparing to go planetside."
"Got it," Morgan replied, "nice work."
To everyone else, Morgan said, "Alright, crew. We're back at the bar now. Should be landing in a few moments. We can head inside and discuss latest developments over a drink. I could sure use one."
(Ok gang! This took forever, but we're back to the GESB now! Don't forget to take all your belongings or the pirates will. lol)
-
((Since this thread is finished, would you like me to lock it?))
-
Yeah, I think we're done. We didn't come back to it, and I doubt we'll need to. Please and Thanks.
-
Alright. Locked. PM me if you need to access it again. :lock:
