So, hey, howdy and harken! pleabs, because i have arrived.
Heh, a pleasure to meet another bunch of people who're as silly as i am about this childhood obsession. I got turned-on to your website by a Facebook friend (Amy, you out there?) on the news of the supposed re-launch coming up.
Scanning your forums, i was amazed and impressed and disturbed by how little i'd forgotten about the Animorphs. I read a referance to "Melissa" and went from 0 to 60 in about three seconds.
"Melissa? Weren't their names Cassie and Rachel...? Oh, wait, Rachel's friend, with the cat. Chapman's daughter. Chapman, the middle-school vice-principal. Who was also in the Andalite Chronicles, but died in a black-hole before the Ellemist saved him. The Ellemist, who was a winged alien living on a floating crystal who played internet games before an alien race picked up their game-transmissions, assumed the games were evidence of severe genocidal tendencies, and thus committed preemptive genocide themselves. The Ellemist, who got into a drag-out chess-game with his fellow omnipotent being, Crayak, that led to a brief glimpse in one of the Megamorph books into an alternate time-line where Melissa was a member of the Nazi-Morphs and was Tobias's girlfriend herself. Yeah, ok, that Melissa."
So, yeah, i'm pretty shaken by how deeply ingrained i've just realised Animorphs is on my psyche ;) I'm also weary of joining an internet-community that has, no doubt, many people with their own encyclopedic recollections that far surpass my own... It might be best for my own mental-health if i log out now and never look back!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I only read the series for the very first time about a year ago... between my college courses. I even read some of them during Ethnic Studies in first period... Couldn't put them down. So yeah, you aren't the only one without "encyclopedic knowledge" lol. You could always try rereading the books ;)

Haha, nice train of thought.
You don't need to compete with those who're Ani-masters (and we have an admirable collection of those - I get freaked out myself sometimes) - just post in/read your threads of interest, laugh at weird recollections while you do that, and most of all - enjoy yourself out here.

Yeah, I think reading Animorphs is a little like riding a bike... once you get on you can never figure out how to get off again (and why would you want to, anyway?)! :P
Seriously, though, I think you'll fit right in here. I can attest to the super-welcoming nature of RAFians, as they made me feel right at home when I joined not long ago, and also to how scarily quickly you can get assimilated into this awesome community.
And, don't worry: we have a reasonable number of members who haven't read the series in full (or at all). Sounds like you remember a heck of a lot, and what you don't recall will all start coming back to you as soon as you browse the Animorphs board.
A bunch of members will most likely be posting on your intro thread about RAF's projects and boards, and I usually throw a little "Yay! Come meet people on RAFchat some time!" in here, but the bottom line is that we're excited you're here, we hope you'll stay and get involved, and can't wait to see you around the boards!

I've got to admit, RAF has done more to refresh my Animorphs knowledge than anything since the series ended. It's precisely the encyclopedic knowledge (and interesting viewpoints) of those around me that helps me look into the series more deeply. It's fun to get into other Anifans' heads without having to morph a Yeerk.

It's precisely the encyclopedic knowledge (and interesting viewpoints) of those around me that helps me look into the series more deeply. It's fun to get into other Anifans' heads without having to morph a Yeerk.
...or to be a Yeerk and invite all the Anifans in the Yeerk Pool. I tried, it isn't so easy ^^' Anifans aren't fool...

But, I'm afraid I have to take your sanity...you'll lose it anyway on RAF. RAF and sanity does not mix, I'm afraid. And if you don't give it peacefully, I'll lock you in a dark room, and rip your sanity from the top of your head.
All threats aside, a piece of advice. Be sure to ask any of our mods if you have any technical problems. Our mods are Richard, Esplin Elsen, SuperClaire, Phoenix004, and goom. They change their names, however, so just look for this red font and name or this blue font and name.

Nice, thanks for all the warm welcomes! I especially appreciate being warned about my upcoming lobotomy. I don't intend to let you have my sanity easily, mister Seal, but i do appreciate that, when i'm dragged into that dark room, i'll know that my torturer is only looking out for my future best interests, as i go a bit deeper into RAF.
