After reading through the Battle Morphs topic and well before that. and i believe many of us have pondered about this. WHAT would you use for battle morph if you were one of the original Animorphs or if you were a new Animorph added to the group later on.
What would make you chose a certain animal for battle and why. Would it be because of a hidden meaning or just for the firepower?
I have asked myself that many times.
I have thought of many animals that would have been interesting to use in battle.
A skunk for battle morph may sound dumb but it may be useful
I have even thought a Giraffe may be an interesting battle morph. A single kick from a giraffe has been known to kill a lion ( by removing i'ts head D= )
Poison Arrow frog would be more of a stealth Morph yet deadly
so what would be your
1) Battle Morph
2) Stealth Morph
3) Bird Morph
My personal ones:
1) Giraffe or Hippo(they both don't seem deadly but are XD )
2) Skunk (because it looks harmless XD)
3) Swallow ( have you seen those guys fly they must have amazing reflexes )
-
1) cape buffalo. they weigh like 1.5 tons and attack with razor sharp horns. i wouldnt want to run into one of those. or a tiger, because i have always loved loved loved tigers.
2)some kind of snake. cobra? whatever. something poisoness. you cna hide in some nifty places without being noticed and strike fast.
3) owl. they're really quiet and fast. and pretty. :)
-
cape buffalo nice I like it. hehe
-
1) Rhinoceros, or grizzly bear. I've thought about this one quite a bit, actually, and I've realized that I'm so atrociously bad at any kind of physical fighting that I would need a morph where I could just plow into battle without having to worry about silly things like 'reflexes' and 'not getting hurt.'
2) Ever since my cats got fleas, I have had a new-found respect for the incredible indestructible flea. We have given them ten flea treatments, and I have tried to squish a flea on several occasions. IT CANNOT BE DONE. I have held a flea between my fingers, squeezing with all my might, for like five whole minutes, and then I release it and it hops away within seconds like nothing even happened. So, I can tell you I would definitely have a flea morph. Dunno if it would be my favorite stealth morph, because of the bad senses, but it would definitely be up there for sheer survivability.
3) Emu.
Oh, wait, you meant flying morph.
I don't think I would be able to resist getting a red-tailed hawk morph. :D
-
1) cobra. I always preferred speed to strength, and the cobra has amazing speed (well not walking speed, but striking speed), and is quite deadly. I just need someone to carry me when we leave...
2) fly. great fliers, within an area. pretty small, so not easily noticed. and great reflexes.
3) I don't really know too much about the different bird species, but I guess a golden eagle. from how tobias and david described, it seems to be pretty powerful and fast...
-
1) Bear morph... i mean come on ya gotta love a grizzly. their so awesome and they could pretty much take down anything on the planet in a fight. also... my favorite food is honey.. so score.
2) Sloth... No-one would ever suspect a Sloth. >:D
3) a Pigion.... natures flying rat.. but also fantastic long distance flayers and very inconspicuous.
-
1. most likely a gorilla, it would pretty easy to get used to since it would just be a more powerful version of my body.
2. poisonous spider of some sort for stealth.
3. duck probably. good distance flyer, and not too conspicuous.
-
1. Hippo, same reasons as Shark.
2. Snake, same reasons as Patty.
3. A hawk of sorts. :)
We think alike.
-
1) Something amphibious and badass, like I like the hippo idea, or maybe a big freaking crocodile or something. idk I'm trying to think unconventional, but all the badass morphs were pretty well covered in the books.
2) Box Elder bugs. Just...this may be personal but these little ****ers get everywhere.
3) Again, I think something amphibious would be better, like a pelican or albatross. Or like a crane or something. Something that could fly over the ocean just as easily as land. Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way though.
-
I've made a list like this before.
I may or may not have just one preffered morph. Gorilla, Cape Buffalo, Black Panther, and Polar Bear are all good battle morphs. The Gorilla has hands, which is good. The Buffallo can barge through just about anything like a battering ram. The Black Panther is stealthy. The Bear has the most raw power between the four.
The Golden Eagle, Goose, Owl, and Pidgeon are all good bird morphs. The Eagle has power, the Owl is a good night flyer, the Goose is a good distance flyer, and the Pidgeon is good for blending in.
The Killer Whale, shark, Octopus, Giant Squid, and Crocodile are all good water morphs. The Killer Whale is an apex predator, the shark can breathe under water and can sense electric pulses, the Octopus is a good stealth morph, and the Giant Squid is an excellent deep sea morph. The crocodile is good as moving on land and water, which can be helpful when fighting at the shore.
A Bloodhound is an awesome tracking animal, and the Wolf can be used for distance when the Goose would be less practical. A Rhino could also be good when you want a tankish animal, but the Bufallo won't quite cut it. A Black Mamba would also be good as something that can get in a lot of places, moves fast, and has venom.
-
1) Battle: leopard of some kind.
2) Some kind of bug? Small enough to get into just about anywhere.
3) Merlin Falcon
1 & 3 are old standbys from RPGs/fanfiction, but they've stuck. :P
-
1) Lynx; since I saw one IRL I have had this sppecial feeling for them.
2) Some kind of poisonous snake.
3) A Raven; no real reason
-
1. a white tiger.
2. a fly.
3. a merlin.
-
Battle: I'd go with either a Jaguar or Panther.
Stealth: I'd go with a snake of some type. probably Rattlesnake, they're harder to spot.
Fly: Definitely a hawk.
-
Battle: Leopard
Stealth: Snake
Flying: Falcon, I'm from Atlanta
-
1. Hippo, same reasons as Shark.
2. Snake, same reasons as Patty.
3. A hawk of sorts. :)
We think alike.
great minds think alike!
-
Battle: Black Panther. It seemed the most original when I chose it... and it's Black... And it's fast...
Stealth: Black Mamba. If I could find one to acquire... fastest, and one of the deadliest snakes in the world... And it's Black... And it's fast...
Flying: Peregrine Falcon. I know it's not original, but it is the fastest... I just can't get away from speed... It's like an addiction... ;) And it kinda has some black... And it's fast...
-
1. Snow Leopard.
2. Western Brown Snake or that snake that lives in Northern Territory and is the most poisonous snake in the world, and a flea or fly.
3. Wedge Tailed Eagle and Albatross.
-

well no one could guess you like black ::)
-
I thought he liked pink ;D
-
Battle: Leopard.
Stealth: Maybe a cat. there are cats everywhere. IDK.
Bird: a falcon of sorts or owl...IDK
-
I thought he liked pink ;D
well no one could guess you like black ::)
Wow... That's top investigative skills... You guys are incredible... ;)
-
I think I'd like a Black Mamba too. Either put it in the stealth section, or the other section with the dog and wolf.
-
Battle: Cave Bear (if there is a DNA sample it would be theoretically possible to morph an extinct animal, and there are some samples from the La Brea Tar Pits)
Stealth: Tabby cat, or black mamba
Bird: Vulture
-
Yeah, after Marco's incident with the Poo-bear, I had thought about how you could maybe combine certain animals that you have aquired, to have the ultimate battle morph...
-
Battle: Cave Bear (if there is a DNA sample it would be theoretically possible to morph an extinct animal, and there are some samples from the La Brea Tar Pits)
Hard to say really. It's made clear that you can't acquire a dead animal, but in #18 they said that you could acquire DNA from blood alone. Perhaps the blood has to be taken from a living creature (and presumably acquired right away or put in storage to preserve the blood cells).
Yeah, after Marco's incident with the Poo-bear, I had thought about how you could maybe combine certain animals that you have aquired, to have the ultimate battle morph...
As cool as that sounds, I wouldn't recommend it. While it's true that DNA from multiple members of the same species can be combined to make a morph (eg. Ax using their DNA to create his human morph), it is supposed to be impossible to mix DNA from different species together. Marco only managed it because of how stressed out and unfocused he was, but even he had no control over the process. Even if that mistake could somehow be replicated, it would be impossible to merge the DNA samples in such a way as to create a functioning morph, let alone one that perfectly combines the characteristics you desire.
-
If you say so... :-\
-
Sorry, just going by the facts. Assuming you could somehow combine DNA from several animal species into one, it would obviously require immense concentration and focus. The fact that Marco was only able to subconsciously pull it off due to extreme stress and lack of focus proves that you wouldn't be able to merge the DNA into an effective morph.
Even so, might be a good idea for a fic. Set it in the future and say Andalite scientists have figured out a way to improve the morphing technology to allow multiple DNA combinations. To make it even vaguely realistic, I'd suggest making the character an estreen.
-
If I could morph three things it would be:
A gorilla - I always thought it was like, the coolest morph ever! I love primates :) If I could do that, I'd try to lift a bus or something lol
An Andalite - I know they're not real, but I always thought the description of them was beautiful. On the show and the book covers they were slightly weirder than what I actually imagined, it's hard to explain. But centaurs are cool!
I can't think of a third one... I've been working too hard today!

Not a bad idea...
*writes himself a note to remind himself to do that*

What about a flying morph, and a stealth morph? Any ideas there? (not that you would, with all that work in the way...)
-
1) My mom. Dude ever see her in a fight? I dont think anyone can walk away from that battle. Nah for real though id choose probably a Rhino or a Polar Bear (woulda chose a Grizzly but gotta show Rachel respect and all)
2)Spider Monkey. Fast Agile and dude come on they're cute!
3) (JAKE YOU CAN BURN AND DIE FOR STEALING THIS ONE FROM ME!!) Peregrine Falcon
-
Hmmm lets see
Battle Morph: My first choice would be Tyrannosaurus Rex...but since that is impossible, I'll go with an Elephant, I can't think of anything I'd rather be in a fight. I'd have size and power.
Stealth: I'd have to go with a Praying Mantis, they are so neat looking.
Flight: Can I be a Pteranodon? No? Fine then, I'll settle for this Harpy Eagle.
-
Only one per category? That's annoying. I'll use "or" a lot because I'm lame like that.
Battle: Tiger, Lion or Wolf, depending on where I am the most. The tiger is agile and deadly in larger areas; the lion has the brawn for more close up fighting; the wolf has significantly more endurance and is a better tracker.
Stealth: For sneaking around, a domestic cat, or for assassinations, a Taipan. No one expects much from a tabby, especially in urban/suburban areas; the taipan is among the fastest and most venomous of all snakes.
Flight: Needletailed Swift (distance) or Golden Eagle (general purpose). The swift can fly the fastest in level flight of any bird, and for incredible distances (migrates from Siberia to Australia) - no duck for me! The Golden Eagle is the general apex bird of prey.
-
I'm less familiar with the needletailed swift, which is why I said goose.
-
Swift is a good choice... I never knew that about it's distance capability... :)
-
Swift is a good choice... I never knew that about it's distance capability... :)
Yeah, it actually spends most of its life in the air - it catches insects for food in flight.
-
And probably less conspiduous than a goose too. Do they travel in groups, though?
-
Actually, I believe they do. Many smaller birds tend to be in groups, for safety reasons.
-
Battle: If it wasn't for cheetahs being out of breath so easily, I would choose that. But I would pick a jaguar. Especially a black one. :3
Stealth: It depends on the setting... Indoors? Fly... Outdoors? Probably a squirrel or cat.
Aerial: Oh, I've had my eyes on the american kestrel since I've seen a picture of one when I was little. And the male one too. A small falcon with awesome colors.
-
I think I heard somewhere that Jaguars are like Lepoards on steroids, and that Lepoards have about the strongest jaws on any cat because they haul their prey up a tree. So aside from a Lion or Black Panther, jaguar would be a good choice.
-
1- Black panther... and a coral snake to do like Marco and Ax
2- Lizard and/or fly
3- Eagle or maybe vulture lol
-
1. Grizzly Bear, or if I have a time machine, a Marsupial Lion. >:D
2. Squirrel
3. Bald Eagle
4. Barracuda
-
Battle: Leopard
Stealth: Snake
Flying: Falcon, I'm from Atlanta
Warner Robins, GA here. :3
-

3. Bald Eagle
4. Barracuda
lol if I have a time machine, 1- T-rex :P
-
Everyone would do T-rex. How many would do this-
(http://thealchemyworks.com/images/Thylacoleo.jpg)
The Marsupial Lion had the most powerful bite of all time 8)
-
He looks like the offspring of an unnatural love between predator and prey.
I remember there being some kind of huge turtle dinosaur with a long tail that has a club on the end. I'd like on of those for Dinomorphs.
Hey, has anyone ever started a fic or rp about dinosaur morphing people? A Sario Rip happens on Earth, sending X number of morph capable Humand and/or Andalites to prehistoric times where they have to use dino morphs to survive.
-

you mean an ankylosaurus?
if I could go back in time, I'd choose 1 - Brachiosaurus, 2 - pteradon

actually it's just strongest bite of any mammal...
-
I remember making a crazy fic where they get into an alternate universe where all sorts of things happened differently. and i think there was dinos in it but i'll have to read back. if i can find it its quite old and writen on like 3 notebooks with horrendous grammar.

The question is: Why the mammals won at the end? ^^' Most of the marsupial animals disappeared... It's quite sad...
-
Better adaptability? Not sure.
-
I'm not sure too, but I think it was that. I don't remember ^^'
-
My morphs
Battle Morph: Liger- an extremly rare hybrid beetween a lion and tiger. The DNA combination makes them HUGE! aka Gigantism.
Stealth morph: Squirel- can be in both city and country. And if you are listening in just pretend you are eating a nut. If all else fails bite, claw and climb up a tree.
Bird morph: Goose- nonstop flying machine. Also if there is a group of you you can travel in an innocent looking flock.
-

bred for its skills in magic?
-
What are you talking about Anijen?
Liger could be cool, but I don't know enough about it to know if it would really be more effective than a Tiger or Lion.
-
IT'S FLIPPIN SWEET
nevermind napoleon dynamite is kind of an old reference :/
-

nevermind napoleon dynamite is kind of an old reference :/
no worries i got as as soon as you said it XD
that and teh fact the first thing that came to my mind was Napoleon Dynamite when i read the word Liger.
maybe a Zorse for speed that is half Zebra half Horse if you were wondering heheh

Exactly...
-
1) Lions - I've adored those animals for forever.
2) Squirrels - they go every where, it's not like any one would notice.
3) Snowy Owl - again, I adore them.
-
Battle: Gorrilla. I thought about it for a while. Think about it. How can someone beat a creature that can pound your face in without any real trouble
Stealth: Me. Lol i can just walk up n be like hey im an animorph tell me what i wanna know or my peeps will come here and destroy everything
Flight: Peregrine Falcon. Holy hell there fast! Like the fastest on record was 275! holy crap!
Aquatic: Hammerhead. Just the ferocity of that animal isnt even natural for a killer
Cute: Dude. Duh. A kitty
-
We added categories???
Um... Okay...
Aquatic: Tiger shark
Cute: Wallabee... (cutest things on earth...)
-
I'm not sure if I ever posted my personal morphs. probably did...
aquatic: dolphin for usual. giant squid for deep sea.
cute: panda... I think they're cute...
-
I added the categories cuz think about it there would be only so many people whom can post them so adding more categories makes it easier for people to add new ones.
Fast Ones: Not a cheetah, probably underwater would be tiger shark. They use their lithe forms well
-
Maybe Nigel Marven can get some strong animals from the past...
-
My morphs
Battle Morph: Liger- an extremly rare hybrid beetween a lion and tiger. The DNA combination makes them HUGE! aka Gigantism.
actually they lack a gene that makes them stop growing..
so basically they continue to grow bigger and bigger as they age... which isn't a good thing really..
-
That is both awesome and sad. They just keep growing until their bodies can't support themselves? That wouldn't be a proble for a morph, though, unless you got stuck.
-
Yeah, I caught the ND reference immediately too.
-
Aquatic: tiger shark too.
And cute, I don't see the use...
-
Battle: Tiger. They're beautiful creatures who can do some damage to their enemies if they have to.
Stealth: Squirrel. Tonnes of these little critters around, and the hyperactivity would make me laugh. lol
Flight: Falcon. It's the fastest creature on this planet of ours, how couldn't I choose it?
Aquatic: Blue Shark. One of the fastest in the water, having been given the nickname "Wolf of the Sea."
Cute: Tarantula. <3
-
Cute: Tarantula. <3
... cute wouldn't exactly be the first word that comes to my mind when I think of tarantula...
-
Well, that was my point after all. ;)
-
all these people becoming sharks are kinda screwed if they are in fresh water..
unless your a Bull Shark..
-
For fresh water... maybe salmon?
-
I thought sharks could do just fine in fresh water. But you have a point. Out of my watr morphs, only the crocodile would be a good fresh water animal. And even then I was thinking of the saltwater croc because they're the biggest.
-
Oh, yeah, a crocodile! You rock ;)
-
k wat about...coniverous?
-
if you mean carnivorous, cobras and golden eagles (my battle and flight morph respectively) are carnivorous.
-
Battle morph, I think I'd go hippo. If I going to go into battle, I want to be able to charge in and beat the hell out of everything withouth having to worry too much about taking damage. Also, I have a soft spot for hippos after Madagascar 2. :)
Stealth? Probably the fly, that always seemed like a rush. Although the indescructible ****roach is cool, too!
For the birds, I guess a raptor would be more practical (and more acceptable to Tobias!) but I really love cormorants--so much so that I have a tattoo of one! I'm pretty sure it would be the first thing I would acquire, and it would definitely be the "morph therapy" I'd use to destress after a really hard day.
-
Without a doubt,I would do what Tobias did,I would trap myself as a red-tail hawk,I'd just be happy as that.
-
lol Therapy morph, good idea... Mine would be... cat, I think. To feel better and sleep and play lol or dog for the same reasons.
Or dolphin if I was near the sea.
-

I totally agree with this. XD
-
I prefer being stuck in something that can fly, probably a golden eagle (sorry tobias)
-
I prefer being stuck in something that can fly, probably a golden eagle (sorry tobias)
I agree completely. If I had to be trapped as something, I'd probably go with a golden eagle. It can fly, and is big, strong and protected by law.
-
Not sure if people have said this one before.
1.) Battle morph: Komodo Dragon.
I don't think I need to explain why this would be a battle morph.
2.) Stealth morph: Brown Recluse Spider.
Outstanding at getting into and out of places. And can leave one hell of a nasty bite.
3.) Flying morph: Great Horned Owl.
A stealthy flyer who can be seen pretty much anywhere. Good for night operations and large enough it won't be bother too much in the air.
-
There's no way I'd limit myself to only a few morphs. I'd basically acquire everything I could get my hands on, and hope there's no upper limit to the number of morphs I could acquire.
That said, I'd probably start with these:
Battle Morph: Lessee... I'd want something powerful (not fighting as a hawk), with good senses (no rhinos), good endurance (pretty much eliminates the big cats), likely a predator to capitalize on killing instinct and reaction times (sorry, gorilla), relatively small so it could be used indoors if necessary (no elephants or grizzlies for me), fast in case I need to get out of the area quickly (that takes me out of crocodile territory)... I guess I'm looking at a canine, and the best one for the job is likely the Gray Wolf (http://www.wolf.org/wolves/index.asp). I know Cassie takes a lot of flak for her battle morph choice, but I honestly see hers as being far and away the most versatile. Unless... could I morph Andalite? :P
Stealth: Something with good senses, but capable of being sneaky indoors... probably a damselfly (http://www.animalaqua.com/southern-damselfly/). They're visual hunters, like dragonflies, but small enough that they might go unnoticed. Asmodeus has a good point, though- a Brown Recluse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_recluse_spider) would be a hella good stealth morph as well.
Aerial: Well, the series definitely biased me towards birds of prey, and I can't deny that they'd be useful... maybe the Elf Owl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elf_Owl)? It's small enough to be inconspicuous, and I could probably get close enough to people to eavesdrop without attracting a bunch of attention, unlike the eagles. On the other hand... David's philosophy of using a powerful morph since it is, after all, a war, makes sense to me. A Harpy Eagle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harpy_Eagle) morph would be great, methinks.
Aquatic: I'm squeamish about both mammals and sharks because of the simple fact that they both have breathing restrictions (mammals, such as dolphins, need to surface, whereas sharks' gills are only effective if they're in constant motion). Of course, I'd want something small enough to use in river and lake environments, capable of surviving in fresh or salt water, with decent endurance and speed, and not something that's going to get snapped up by a hungry predator... sharks and aquatic mammals are probably the best balance, all told... and being a Bottlenose Dolphin just sounds like so much fun :) Either that or a Bull Shark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_shark).
Therapeutic: Anything with wings. Or a dog. I'm pretty sure I was a beagle in a past life anyway ;D

When you put it that way, a wolf morph doesn't sound half bad does it? The main reason I give Cassie flak for the wolf isn't so much the wolf's capabilities, as it is the only way she can really incapacitate someone is by ripping a chunk out of their throwat or something else violent. The wolf does have gioodsenses and endurance, and can definitely be used against Human controllers which they really should have been fighting more of anyway.

Aww...
...You just totally distracted me with a cute puppy pic. >:(
-
Oh yeah. I forgot to say how cute the puppy is. Cutey Wootey!
-
1) Battle Morph: Cheetah(I'm a scaredy cat so I need a morph that can run fast and kick ass if I need to) or something that can't be hurt easily, like a rhino or an elephant
2) Stealth Morph: An extremely poisonous snake or a small lizard
3) Bird Morph: Probably osme type of Falcon or a Golden Eagle
4) Aquatic: Dolphin, Orca, or a Great White
5) Therapeutic: Probably a dolphin again. or a dog. I'd say some type of bird but I'd probably use that the least since I'm scared of heights
-
I like David's lion morph.
-
Battle Morph: Cheetah, Wolf, and in some cases Elephant
Flight Morph: Harris Hawk and Great Horned Owl
Aquatic Morph: Dolphin and in some cases Humpback Whale
Stealth morph: House Cat, Fly, ****roach, Rattle Snake, and German Shepard (I need something inconspicuous)
Alien Morph: Hork Bajir and Taxxon
Other Morphs: DragonFly, Octopus, Black Mamba, Horse, Walrus, Other Humans (Humanimorphs) , Giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Starfish, Chimpanzee, Duck, Koala, and Kangaroo
Lol I have 27 morphs. I think I covered all the important (and unimportant) morphs I would need :)
