This has been nagging at me since forever. In the Andalite Chronicles, the captain of Elfangor's Dome ship, the StarSword, was Captain Feyroyan. Then, in book 33, Tobias's old teacher, Mr. Feyroyan makes an appearence. Does anyone there's a connection between the two, like maybe they're the same person? Could they be relatives? Or is this just a KASU?
-
Probably just accidental reusing of a name. KASU.
-
That's a pretty interesting connection. But I agree with Chad, probably just an accident.
I used to wonder the same thing about Sargeant Torelli (from #14) and Santorelli (from #54). Similar names, both army-type guys, and it made me suspicious. But I think it's just another case of not realizing she'd already used a similar name.
But . . . you know, the Feyroyan thing could have some merit. Wouldn't it be funny, if Tobias, who had an Andalite father, had a teacher who also had an Andalite father? :D The Ellimist does have a sense of humor, you know.
-
Maybe I'll write a fanfic about it some time. Could be interesting.
-
I'd assume it was an accident or maybe an in-joke to see if anyone would notice? Either way it's a coincidence, I highly doubt there's anything more to it. Still, a fanfic would be interesting.
-
Like Feyroyan finding out about Elfangor leaving the war, and having a kid, so he went to Earth to help Tobias lead a good life?
-
Purely accidentally, but you could get a lot of interesting fanfiction out of it.
-
wow i never even noticed that! i dk, i say KASU
-
nice. i say she threw that in there to leave readers guessing.
it seems too strange a name to accidentally use twice, unless it's somebody she knows.
-
She does that a lot. One of the guys in the chat was Officer Sofor in #16, and the Andalite Sofor has cameos in THBC and TAC
-
u guys pay way more attention than i do to fine detail :-\ i didnt notice any of that

I just looked over that part of #16 and can't find anyone named Officer Sofor. I do remember an Andalite named Sofor, though.

That'd be an interesting name to have.
It seems just too strange that an Andalite and a human would both share a name unless there was some relation. Like Elfangor changing his name to Alan Fangor (shortened to 'Al Fangor').
-
maybe it's later when they're talking about who all of the people are
idk where it is BUT I KNOW IT'S THERE

Couldn't have said it better myself :D

Interesting observation, VisserZer0. I'd like to think it was KA deliberately messing with our heads (as usual) as the name is too unusual to be used twice 'accidentally.' But it could just be a KASU :P
-
Yeah, I think she's trying to just poke at the more detail oriented, or the truly fanatic.
-
I think I'm closer to the 'truly fanatic' side of it. I like to think it's not a KASU, and actually may have some meaning, but maybe I just have an active imagination. I saw a photo on deviantART once of 'M and R' carved onto a tree and I immediately thought 'Marco and Rachel.' I might just be getting excited over a KASU with this Feyroyan thing, but I thought it was pretty interesting. I do believe a fanfic about it is in order for the future, though.
-
Heck yeah, a fanfic linking the two would be awesome.
-
33 is ghost written though. Its weird, cause that whole exchange is pretty is unnecessary to the plot. Maybe there is something to it, like an unused plot point before the ending of the books was formalized.
-
I think the teacher calling out to Tobias was used to further motivate him to get out of there. He's close to his limit, trapped, and there's a guy that recognises him trying to catch up with him. It adds drama.

Edriss is an old english name that means 'noble ruler' and Estrid is a norse name.
Essam is an Arabic name.

Where'd that come from?
-
What about Esplin? Does that mean anything in particular?

According to the list of minor Andalites on Wiki, the Andalite's name is actually Feyorn.
