So. The game is less than 5 bucks including shipping on ebay...
i called gamestop, they have the gameboy advance for 40$.
its funny... he asked me what game i was buying it for and i told him, he said he used to read the series haha
is the game worth it?
-
Wait. That was you at the store!? Wow.
-
I dont know if the GAME is, the game is on ebay for really cheap. But the system is at the store.
i might order it and pick up the sys tomorrow..
-
Wanted to see if I would get a reaction if I pretended I was that guy. I'm not.
I don't know much about the game. I think I heard somewhere that there would be a four move thing going on, and it reminded me of Pokemon. I also think there are multiple games.
I never came across any games or transforming action figures like people talk about.
-
i used to have an action figure! i wonder what happened to it....
i was thinkin about buying the ps game too, but i dont wanna go buy a play station.
-
I heard the game was terrible.
I don't know how good the Playstation ones were.
-
i have the game. Bought it when it was first released. It's not that good. Fine to pass the time with if you want. But i found it annoying more than anything. The password-to-save your game is really annoying because they're so long, and a new one generates like every few minutes it seems like lol

The game is terrible, please don't buy it unless you're an intensely a hardcore fan (like myself - guilty!). If you want to play the game, just head on over to the Hirac Delest Forum and download the entire thing for free. You can play it right on your computer!
http://www.hiracdelest.com/community-status.htm
The full PC game is on there as well. Just remember to sign up, otherwise you won't see the download forum ;)

Oh! Ill just do that then thanks!
-
Yeah, going the emulation way is probably the best, but I'd still buy the game if I were you.
-
Buying the game just for keeps, not buying the gameboy.
-
It's just Pokemon with some alteration of the skins, basically.

I never played the gameboy game but I had the playstation game (I still do . . . somewere . . .) it's just like the TV series in that the animorphs never actually morph (when they do their signature morphs are at least present . . . except Marco, who morphs a rhino) you spend pretty much the whole game as the exact same little 3d character (with different colors to indicate which character you are) listening to poor one liners and jumping from platform to platform because the Yeerks really like platforms? Your morphs are completely the same, the grizzly doesnt take or deal more damage than the tiger, the wolf isn't any faster than the rhino so other than the colors of their clothes and the appearance of the animal you get to morph the animorphs themselves are pretty identical, the only difference I've noticed is that Rachel flips when she jumps . . . I guess that's variety.
When you do morph you have like twenty seconds (not two hours) to do whatever you have to do in morph before you're trapped and . . . commit suicide? You can only morph right before a fight and can't demorph until the fight is over so the action in the game where it exists needs to be over in 20-40 seconds, I like to think this is why the Animorphs are so reluctant to spend more than a few seconds in morph in the TV show, Elfangor set the timer wrong when giving them their powers so instead of two hours they have two minutes . . . mostly you dodge giant traps that, in a real three dimensional world the animorphs might just . . . you know, walk around, or morph into something to fly over it . . .
All that said I actually enjoyed it (I know . . . wierd) you get to be whomever you want (provided you don't want to be Ax or Tobias) take on Hork-Bajir that actually resemble (almost) the book Hork-Bajir not those disgusting rubber chickens from the TV series, I'd actually say that playing the game is more entertaining than watching the TV show, except for the fact that it gets very annoying due to how easy it is to miss a jump and die. You'll fall off the platforms again and again, especially in the Gardens where there are giant flipping fans which either dice you or blow you off your platform (Why, Visser Three, why?! I mean I knew you were evil but this is just . . . evil!) be forced to watch that lame "game over" movie which shows everyone getting infested (including whoever you played as, even though they fell off the screen to their death . . .) until you can see it in your dreams.
Still it's neat. If you ever get a playstation or ps2 (garage sales ftw) this is a game easily worth an hour or two of laughs . . . and about fifty hours of cursing and demanding to know who installed giant fans and bottomless pits in The Gardens . . . I might go looking for the game now just for nostalgia.

That really made me not want to play any Animorphs games
-
lol, well what can I say? It also had a decent soundtrack :P
-
I still may try it out. I like cheesy games. Examples. Bought an xbox 360. Played viva pinata. Right now I'm playing pokemon emerald gba on my ds, and I don't even like pokemonn lol
-
I have the game i got it when it came out. It was not that bad. It did have that pokemon feel to it because of teh morphs being like pokemon . teh whole way of fighting was all like pokemon. However there are things that made it more challanging. there was no place to save extra morphs. YOU can only have 6 and if you get an extra one you have to pick what morph you don't want anymore.
there are also teh mini games at the end of each level one where you are a bat one you are a dolphin and one you are a seal i think.
The huge downside is you have to get passwords instead of saving. if you played Metroid for teh NES its liek that. you get a code write it down when you restart your game you put in teh password and it gets you where you were last time.
-
Oldschool save codes are the shiz. Young'uns! Ah, I remember the good ol' days before battery saves. Viva la 80's, baby.
-
Hey I don't mind passwords. My phone has a password box to store all those anyway.
I remember SUPER metroid. That was my favorite game. Gave me a thrill
-
Best videogame ever made, fact.
-
I have this game!! but my gameboy is shot. if someone wants it, i can mail it to you, but you'd need to pay me back!! lol
-
Dude, just pick up a new GB unit. Most game stores have used-goods sections, you could probably find an original Gameboy or GBC for like 10 bucks. Cheaper than the game itself, probably.
-
Yah they're cheap
