It just hit me, as a strong realization. In book 54, Tobias says he's been trying to hunt what he believes in the world's smartest rat. It's like, oh my God, that's David! How ironic. and they don't even recognize each other.
Maybe not really. But that thought just popped into my head. A Wild Mass Guessing moment.

you know, that actually makes sense... except for the fact that it was a total security risk... although... the next book is when they're found out. maybe david ratted them out...

Shameless fan-fiction plugs FTW!
Don't worry, it's relevant and short.
-
That feels anticlimactic. Oh well. They ruined David's return enough as it is.

that fic was so FTW LOL it was just pure genius. if they had done that in "The Return" the book wouldn't have been as horrible
-
Yeah, it would. Rachel would still be done wrong, and the return of David would still be botched.
-
Next chat with the author we'll have to ask if it was intentional.
-
Oh wow. Lol that was definitely genius.
I wonder, had Tobias been more involved in the book and stumbled upon Rachel having to make that choice, do you think out of his love for her that he would've taken that choice from her, made it easier to protect her? The same way Jake helpd Marco, the same way Cassie helped Jake.
I think Tobias definitely wouldve killed David for Rachel had he known how disturbed she was over the whole thing. He loved her that much anyway.

Killing and eating David is just as bad--if not worse- than writing a story about somebody killing and eating Tobias!
-
He said it was the world's smartest mouse, not rat.
-
I've had the thought before, but I doubt it. They were in Yellowstone right. That's a long trip for a rat to make. Even if it's smart enough to get into a car. Plus, well, what VZero said :-\

...How have I NEVER thought of this? XD
