Title: Just started re-reading the series...
Post by: nique1057 on May 15, 2009, 03:23:22 PM
I just started reading the series again and I noticed that a lot of people didn't like the ending.  For some reason I stopped reading when I was younger but I got to about book 35, so my question is should I continue reading or will the ending ruin the whole series for me.

Keep reading. It's better to read it yourself and make your own call. Some people like how it ended, some don't.

Besides, if you don't read it, you'll still probably be spoilered as to what happens, so may as well see for yourself.

You should read it through. Especially if you will be active here. Then make your own call about it. Like Terenia said, some people did like the ending. And a good number of them come here.

In my opinion they are worth reading.
EVEN if you don't like the ending I don't think the story will be ruined for you.

Even if you don't like the ending of the last book, you'll probably like the final arc of the series, which spans over 9 books (#45-54), so yeah, I'd say keep reading. It's worth it.

I agree, even if I haven't read all of them either. But as you can read, keep reading. When the publishers of my country gave up after 18 books I got really frustrated that I didn't know how it would end, made a very long fanfic to get an ending at all... and finally ended up here and heard about the real ending before I got time to read it myself, but I will keep reading anyway.

So how did your ending compare to the actual ending. The big turning point into dark territory didn't happen until soon after book 18, so it would be interesting.

The last one was book 16 actually, but for the question.
I didn't got a very happy ending either, in many way it was even worse

I'd keep reading.

I should do a re-read myself while I'm in the same house with the books over the summer. It's been a while.

first off, welcome to the forum!
second, read the whole series.
even if you don't like it, i'd still advise reading it.

Keep reading it. ^_^. The ending isn't that bad if you're already prepared for a "WTF?" moment.
