Title: Who is Cassie talking about?

Im reading "The Sickness" and Rachel, jokingly, suggested they kidnap a doctor for Ax. then Cassie says

"The only doctor we could
trust with our secret was a doctor who quickly became dead."

who was she talking about?

Any doctor they would be willing to kill after saving Ax. which would be no one. Basically, she's saying they can't let anyone know about Ax, after they saved him.

Also in regards to the topic, I was also reading "the sickness", this isn't totally on topic, I just thought it'd be neat to make note of this coincidence. Definately not my favorite book though, I'm dragging my feet on this one since the ending ticked me off even as a kid and I was even less pleased with it the last time I reread it (like . . . a year ago I think)

Now truly in regards to the subject, they might not have meant a doctor they would personally have to kill, they might simply have meant that the yeerks would do it, or else turn said doctor into a controller . . . wasn't Jake's dad a doctor in the TV series? Would have been a great way to bring him in on the secret early and thereby avoid what happened to him later on. They could have told him :P

He was in the books too!
