One day you are somehow transported to the Iskoort Homeworld, and know without a doubt that you will be there for a while. One of the first things you learn is that there's a guild for just about anything imaginable. In order to survive, you must join a guild. Which guild would you join?
I would be in the video game guild. Playing video games for the video game developing guild.
-
The drummers guild.
\m/
-
The food taster guild...or whatever the guild that tastes the food sold are called... you know this could be a good rpg...
-
I was tempted to make an RPG thread instead of a discussion thread, but I don't feel like being the one to start it.
Food tasting would be a cool guild to be in too.

Good in theory, probably bad in practice. It's unlikely that Iskoort food would appeal to our taste buds, and that's assuming it's even safe for human consumption.
A Writer's Guild would be cool, I could write stories for them. Not to mention that I know a thousand stories that nobody on that planet has ever heard of! If times get tough, I could even make a living telling fairy tales to Iskoort children! :P
-
I would SO join the News, Gossip, and Speculation Guild. I'm good at spreading things around.
-
Would there be a 'daydreaming' guild? Because that would be the guild for me.
Actually . . . you know, come to think of it, there probably actually would be a possible career in daydreaming on the Iskoort homeworld. You'd basically be making fake memories, which you could then sell. ;D

That would be awesome. I'd totally want to do that.
Or maybe a thieves guild :P
That could be fun...
-
The Rpg guild
if there were nerds on the Iskoort homeworld ;D
-
I would totally be at home in a daydreaming guild. I love to think about stories, which is why I sometimes take to (and fail at) writing.
-
I would be in the Pwn Guild, members including Chuck Norris and Mr. T
-
What was that one guild that delt with the spirits of fictional characters? The superstition and something or other guild? I'd want that. Or a writer's guild.
-
I remember some building that was being investigated by a guild like that.
-
Yeah, that's the one I mean. XD
-
I like that daydreaming guild idea. I wonder what the rules would be....
-
Video game guild for sure.
-
Writer's guild for sure . . . but I wonder how much they'd want writers if they're so entertained by memories . . . they might not see the point of non-fiction and might just be disappointed by fiction.
-
the gamers' guild. definitely.
-
hmm... i dunno what guild i'll be in... prolly the gamers guild...
EDIT: this should have been a poll, instead
-
There is an infinite amount of choices. A poll wouldn't be practical.
-
I would so be in the shopping guild. :P

but many different species visit the iskoort planet, so they need to have food that appeals to, and is safe for all sorts of different species...

same here...
I was tempted to make an RPG thread instead of a discussion thread, but I don't feel like being the one to start it.
want me to start it then?
-
Knock yourself out, Morf. I may even join.
-
I would be in either...
The writer's guild.
The daydreaming guild.
The gamer's guild.
The RPG guild.
And maybe the theives guild... >:D
-
Woot! Horse, thieves guild ftw!
-
Knock yourself out, Morf. I may even join.
done

You know, like, I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure like HARDLYANYOFTHESEGUI LDSWEREEVENMENTIONE DINTHEBOOK.
Creative license, creative schmicense!
-
What's your point? I got the feeling that there was a guild for just about anything. So I made a thread about it.
-

well obviously there's gotta be more guilds than just those mentioned in the book...
-
Iskoort suck. :( They really doooo.
Howler puuunnccch.
-
. . . the howlers were wiped out by a kiss . . . just sayin'
Maybe they shouldn't have all been in Macho Space Conquerers Guild. :P
-
Not by a kiss! By the almighty power of luuurve!
;D Bwahaha. And Crayak cried. "I'll get you next tiiime, Captain Planet!"
-
lol, okay, even so, the Love Guild would have done them in. ;D
-
Not if they were splintered and skewered by rad projectile flechettes first! >:D
-
dude, hippy peace beats government violence anyday
-
Yeah, 'cause the 60's really lasted.
*smirks*
-
dude, don't be dissin the peace movement
-
dude, don't be dissin the peace movement
they are a violent bunch aren't they?
-
that they are shock, that they are
-
Um, they are. Pro-Tibetan protesters last year in San Francisco issued death-threats to some random Chinese student's house for trying to mediate the campus conflict.
They're hypocritical jackoffs with an empty cause. We need another Vietnam.
*Grampa Simpson voice* Demmycrats...
But seriously, the point stands. Hypocrits. Naive peaceniks.
-
We need another Vietnam.
dude, that is seriously NOT the attitude to have... and please everyone (including me) stop being offtopic!
to (attempt) to recover this topic, as i said before, i'll prolly go to the gamers guild...
-
I'd be in a music or reading guild, I imagine. I'd read books and then sell the memories. Like Cliff's Notes or AudioBooks, I guess. *chuckle*
-
That actually sounds like a pretty fantastic idea, I can't tell you how many times I've tried to suggest a book to someone only to have them say "give me the gist of it, I don't like reading non-Harry Potter material" well obviously not in those exact words but that's basically what they're trying to get across. If you could just sell your memories of a good book anyone's lazier friends could know how cool some books are . . . w00t.
-
Even better: if it was losing the memory instead of copying... then I could read it again and love it again!!! :D
