Hey guys, I just found out that two years ago in 2007, UC Berkeley had an entire class dedicated to analyzing Animorphs!

Does anybody know anybody who took that class? That sounds so cool! Too bad they don't have something like BookWorlds at my University. They have all kinds of cool pop culture studies, like Firefly, etc.
Here's a quote from the sylabus:
"The Rules
We will not have any disruptions in class; hence, discipline is essential. These rules are harsh but way better than anything under Yeerk rule, so be thankful and live by them! They will be enforced!"
"If you have nothing to contribute to the class, you’re about as useful as a person stuck halfway in flea morph."
That's so cool (even though one missed class equals an essay requirement, and four means failure- ouch!) The professors must have truly been Anifans. Can you imagine how nice it would be to discuss the books in detail in a classroom and get credit for doing so? Not to mention, there would be no awkward embarrassment, because everybody in the class would be a fan as well.

That would be such a cool class to take! I wish they had something like that at Penn State...

That would be an excellent class. Though the thought of missing a class reminds me of the way my English 3 teacher treated us. It wasn't pretty.
-
I'm no where near that school, but I'd more there just to take that class. I'm seriously considering going to SFW, which I hate, only because they have a class on Batmanology.
-
I enrolled in Fall '07, so a semester too late to take that class, and I was soooooo pissed when I found out I missed it. You have no idea.
Hopefully they'll offer it again.

Meh, every single one of my college English classes within my major had an attendance requirement. If you missed more than two classes, you failed (this was at Ohio State).
I would take this class in a second. Wow, talk about an easy A in a class I'd actually enjoy.
At OSU they did have a Harry Potter class when I was there. I never got to take it, though, due to schedule conflicts.
(PS, if you look at the syllabus, one of the options for getting the books is a bookshare website named "The Sharing". That made me laugh.)

Whatchu'talkin'bout? "Batmanology" would have to cover every discipline known to man. Batman knows everything. Batman's Einstein crossed with Jet Frickin' Li and Jack Bauer...and a big scary humanoid bat. NO CLASS CAN CONTAIN BATMAAAN'S BATMAAANYNESS!

Ouch! Hopefully that wasn't your only motivation for going. Also, it was limited to Juniors only (I don't know why).

I didn't know about it until like last year, so no. xD
That's weird about the limit though.

I know there was a Simpsons DeCal at one point too.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd be afraid the professor of said class would be an overzealous fan who pretended to have an open mind but didn't, and anybody who tried to get past the "hey this class is about Animorphs" would run into a brick wall if they put up original ideas.
College professors always say they're better than high school teachers, but IMO most are exactly the same.

I highly doubt it, considering that this is UC Berkeley we are talking about. Cal is one of the most prestigious universities in the nation. Considering that was not a political class, bias of the teacher would be pretty obvious, and the administrators would definitely do something about it.

lol, I wish I could take the Firefly class. Wonder if it's offered online. :D

"Q. Who's a badass?"
"A. Malcolm Reyolds is a badass."
A++ and extra-credit!
