Title: Song for Estelore
Post by: Toominator Z on February 19, 2009, 04:29:58 PM
She wrote me a poem, so she gets a song.  ;D It's the first one that comes up on the page, "Harmonic Bliss", produced using Guitar Pro 4 and Reason 3. Oh, also, if anyone is interested in helping me with vocals, because I can't sing to save my life, "Flashback" needs lyrics/vocals.

What kind of singing?  I can sing pretty well, but some styles you'd want to throw me out the window.

It seems kinda short.  Is it gonna be longer?

Nothing crazy. You'd be welcome to use whatever style suits you best as long as it fits the song.
I can do Back up vocals! ;D
That'd actually be pretty sweet.
It seems kinda short.  Is it gonna be longer?
Yes, it's going to be a full song. What's posted right now is just the intro.

Cool!  I just need the full song.

Wait...you mean that I get to choose?  Sweet!  Are you going to provide me lyrics, though?

Lol. Yes you can sing in whatever style you like. I'm currently working on the lyrics, but I'll let you interpret exactly how they should be sung.

Singing?

Sure.

I'm a baritone, by the way.

What language(s)?

Oh, and this is so exciting.  I can't wait to get home to my mic and headphones.  ;D

 :starwars:

By the way, I really like the new look, Jesse.

I know, I'm exited too.  I sing mezzo-soprano or alto.  OMG, I'm really excited!

And, what's with the fighting people, weathel?

I'm glad you liked it Est!  ;D
And I'm excited to have so many people anxious to sing. Once I dig up the lyrics for Flashback I'll post them and everyone can have at singing for it. Once I have everyone's submissions I'll probably pick one and ask the others to sing for other songs or maybe even pick pieces from multiple singers for just one song.

Sorry for the delay guys. Here's the lyrics for Harmonic Bliss. Anyone interested record your vocals to the music, but without the actual music playing in the recording and send it to InsatiableDrug@aol.com.  ;D

Harmonic Bliss
The mellowing notes of a harmonic bliss….
A lingering rest of euphoria upon the composition….
Beating ecstasy reverberates in meter
As I confound and marvel through each key.
It is more than music to my ears,
It is music to my being.
Climaxing dynamics elating its eloquence
As if its significance,
Was of higher numeric value than the number of particles touched by the sun.
Each piece circumspectly embedded to its place
Not with precision, but sentiment.
Not with scrutiny, but passion.
The stimulating sound of silence occasionally placed to subdue.
Subjecting one to the surreal impression of flavor
A plethoric rainbow to a beautifully melodic mosaic
A radiantly painted picture of resonance
Its countenance symbolizing the exquisiteness of angels.
Its freedom characterizing the tears of clouds.
May I become comatose, blind, and mute before I ever become deaf.
For I could never live,
With out the mellowing notes of a harmonic bliss…..

Sweetsweetsweet  ;D ;D

I'll give it another listen.  I assume the melody's easy to figure out from listening to the instrumental original, chu ne?

Pardonon al mi, but I can only find the intro...

But can only find intro.  Where rest of song?

I suppose we must also assume the text is set syllabically?

I'll listen to it again, anyway.  I love the lyrics, btw, they're perfect!

...and I thought I was through with melodic dictation after my last semester of musicianship class.  xD

I need to check this board more often. :/

edit:  Oh, since there are three singers, will there be three separate parts?  That would be awesome.

I apologize for the delay in responding everyone. First off, THANK YOU ESTE. Seeing as how this was for you, I'm obviously appeased that you enjoyed it.

Horsefan: Yes, there will be more to the song. At the moment all that is completed is the intro. There will be a bridge and maybe one more riff. The end of the intro is actually the chorus. The verses will sound the same minus the melody.

Liz: I am leaning more towards the side of using multiple singers as the song itself speaks of diversity, however, if I particularly like one person's style I may consider using just one singer. Anyone who would still like to sing is more than welcome to put vocals for the many other songs I'm working on.

OK, that clears things up.  Thanks Toominator.  This might seem a little demanding, but can you put up a track with only the melody, played on a piano or something?  Whatever I sing, I'm told when to start and pause and stuff, or it's already a published song, so I'm not good at figuring things out myself. :-[Sorry.

Absolutely. My computer is currently down, but I'll be reformatting it on Thursday. I'll try to post up the melody alone shortly after.

Hey everyone. I just want to apologize for the delay. My computer's finally been reformatted, but I haven't had time to install Reason yet. That's the program I have the song in. I should be able to have it up this weekend. I just got a new job thats 12 hour days, 6 days a week, so I'm pretty beat. lol.

I'm sure hope died for this a long time ago, but I just want to apologize and explain. My computer had fried and with it, all the programming data and recordings I had for this project. Este will surely get her song, but it'll have to be a different composition.
