As I was walking back from class today, I was walking through an area that was, until very recently, a construction site. They finally finished it, though. And do you know what I found??
Two words. Blue. Box.
My first thought: Holy s***. Second thought: Aw, darn, it's wooden. Third thought: You know, I still better not let anybody see that I have it. Just in case.
So. Has anybody else had something happen to them where they went 'holy crud, I'm in one of the books!'?
-
Wow!! That's so freaky.
I don't think anything like that has happened to me
-
that's awesome.
i've seen some animorphs-related graffiti before.

Are you serious? What did it say?
-
can't remember exactly, something about the secret (in <thoughspeak>)
-
dude...that would be such a kewl viral campaign. just <truth> or something like that.
and nothlit...did you keep the box?
-
i can't remember, but i think i saw somebody with an animorph tattoo once.
< *insert something* > would be a great tattoo, if i was getting one.
-
and nothlit...did you keep the box?
Freaking heck yes! Seriously, what Animorphs fan would throw something like that away?
. . . . it's also entirely possible that I'm still trying to get the morphing power from it.

I apologize for the poor quality, for I took this picture with my cell phone. The color is somewhat off in the picture. It's actually a little more blue than that.
-
that's awesome. does it glow when you touch it? :D
-
that's awesome. does it glow when you touch it? :D
Of course not. It only did that in the TV show. The books never say anything about it glowing.
-
holy crap!! it's LEGIT!
-
:o
Mmkay. You have to bring it to the RAFcon.
-

Of course not. It only did that in the TV show. The books never say anything about it glowing.
In the Animorphs TV series, the Escafil device does not glow brighter and brighter as more of the Animorphs touch it, as in the first book, The Invasion, but instead turns several shades of yellow-white.
yup, trick question.
i think the wiki is wrong though, does #1 mention the box changing color at all?
-
Oh man. I just realized, if this thing really is real, I am in so much trouble. I just announced that I have the blue box on the internet. *facepalm*
*waits for the legions of Hork-Bajir to arrive*
And goom, I don't recall any mention of it changing color, either. And I've read The Invasion pretty recently . . .

yeah, unless it was mentioned in another book, wikipedia is wrong.
i re-read book 1 just about 2 minutes ago (well, that part)

Don't worry. Whenever a new member comes, we lock them away for 3 days.

haha. is your name, by chance, david?
::) Please make note of my gender. Now, do you still think my name might be David?

Oh, phew, that's a relief.
Waaaait a second. How, exactly, did Esplin get in here, then? Not to mention the other two professed Yeerks in the "What species are you?" board.
Hmm. Now, why might you lie to me about that? Except because YOU'RE A YEERK TOO. *hides blue box*
-

i was just kidding. :-\
whatever, nice find anyways.

I was just kidding, too. I really wasn't trying to be mean. Sorry if it sounded that way. :-[
-
its fine.
<-- *points to my gender*

A blue box? Interesting! May you send us this blue box, please? With the technology we have, we can know if it's an Escafil or not. Don't worry, we'll return it ^^
PS: Some members couldn't be locked, as you can see. But it's because we're kind and sweet Yeerks! ^^

Oh come on. Give me a little credit. I'm not that easy. :P
And I am fully capable of testing it myself, thankyouverymuch. The moment I get home to my kitties . . . ;D
-
those yeerks are part of the peace movement. ^^

lol! As long as you don't post it on ebay or something I think you might be safe...

I already posted this in the random Animorphs thoughts thread, but I just had to share it again...
Today when walking to the band room this hawk came flying super low and superfast over the bridge I was walking on, all crazylike. And I thought "OMG TOBIAS!!" But it wasn't a red-talied hawk, sadly...it had a reddish belly and brown and white stripes on its wings and tail. I'mma look up what kind of bird it is when I get home
Isn't that something Tobias would totally do, too? Fly all crazy, I mean.
-
Peace movement? If you think so... >:D
Myitt maybe is... but do you really think Vissers could be in the Peace movement? ^^' please!
But of course, that doesn't mean we "bad guys who wanna kill you or enslave you"... I really like Humans (sometimes) and I particularly like RAFians, so don't worry ^^
-
well...maybe the peace movement has evolved.
-

The first rule of Fight Club the blue box...

That reminds me of a time when my dad told me that a bald eagle buzzed his car. My first thought was that it had to be Rachel, lol.
And yeah, that's definitely something at least one of the Animorphs would do (but maybe not Tobias, since it wasn't a red-tail). He was probably checking you out to see if you were a controller. ;)
Did you ever find out what kind of bird it was?

And yet, I worry.

Dx
I forgot to when I got home that day and by now I don't clearly remember what it looked like. Darn.
-
Don't worry too much about the Peace Movement, we take care...
But if you have news about them... ;)
-

It would have been so cool if it had been an osprey, a northern harrier, or a peregrine falcon . . .

Buzzed?
By that I meant it flew really close to his car.
-
Oh i see...yes that's very Rachelish!
-
I was over at a relatives house the other day and we were being bothered by these idiots on the road doing burnouts on their V8s. It was also trash pickup the day after on the street, so upon hearing all these crash-buoom sounds, we went outside, along with some neighbours.
And THE WHOLE STREET was littered with the contents of turned over bins.
Needless to say I had the whole scene from #MM1 in mind, and instead of laughing (me being an adult now) it suddenly struck me THE STATE in which those streets Marco trashed would have looked, given the graphic imagery in front of me that night. People wanted to clean it up, but no one knew where to start.
-
;D lol Gafrash, do you expect more things from the books happen to help you with the graphic novel? ;)
-
I saw a peregrine falcon, bald eagle and red tailed hawk all in the same tree once. I was like, "Holy crap! ANIMORPHS!"
...Then I realized the guys have enough sense not to look like a bird convention.
-
That was always just a lie they put in their books, in reality they always flew close together because the yeerks would think "no, no, they have more sense than that, plus they say so in their books" it's the simple plans that always work you know :P

I'm going to guess that Rachel and Tobias had probably been snuggling, and then Jake caught them in the act and reminded them not to look like a bird convention. ;)

Lol, reverse psychology! But do you really think Visser Three is clever enough to be fooled by that? :D
-

Oh he's too lazy to do his own bird watching/book reading he makes Chapman do it. Visser 3 just spends all his time watching VH1, because it contains the letter V and the number 1. :P

Someone just sent me this clip in an e-mail.
Don't know how legit it is, but regardless, it made me think of the Animorphs in seagul morph. XD
-
This morning when I woke up, for the second time, a big spider was watching me... I think it's the same spider than 3 weeks ago, but it always disappear when I try to push it outside...
Do you think it's Marco? *paranoid*

Nah, of course not!
I think it was Ax.
Marco was too busy robbing convenience stores in seagull morph.
-
One time there was this fly in my house that kept following me around everywhere I went. Finally, after like, four days, it left. It made me wonder if some Animorph was trying to see if I was a controller XD. I kept thinking, take me with you, take me with you!!
-
if you were thinking it, maybe they heard you?
-
Here's one. In The Age of Reptiles: Tribal Warfare a story by Ricardo Delgato a tale is told about a pack of deinonychus and a family of 4 T-Rexes. The two Deinonychus focused most on fit the description of the ones Tobias and Rachel morphed, especially the pack leader while the 4 rexes could easily have been Cassie, Marco, Jake and Ax, or at least that's how I saw it as a kid.
-
thats interesting
-
Other "coincidences" in cinema (more likely influences) include The Faculty and Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn.
-
I remember once describing The Faculty as "They're kind of like Animorphs, except they don't transform and they do drugs" to one of my friends who asked what it was about.
I'd meant it as a guarded recomendation though in the end mentioning drug use in front of his mother probably wasn't such a clever idea. :P
-
I didn't like the movie very much. I couldn't take it seriously after they were basically "doing drugs kills them".
Yet irionically I can take blue centaurs and Helmacrons seriously. *sigh*
-
lol
-
its not really an animorphs moment, but ever since i read the books i repeatedly quote marco.
my personal favorite: "that was fun. let's never, ever do that again."
