Title: Animorphs Loose Ends
Post by: Uza-chan on January 17, 2009, 03:00:30 PM
I was just re-reading 41, aaand...

Quote
I N T E R E S T I N G CHOICE.
All was blackness when I heard the voice.
A strange voice. Old and young. Male and female.
Echoing in my mind like distant thoughtspeak.
It was not the Ellimist. No. It was a voice I'd
never heard.
THEY HAVE STRANGELY SEGMENTED
MINDS: CONSCIOUS, UNCONSCIOUS, AND AN
ABILITY TO RECONCILE BOTH. THEY WILL
BEAR MORE STUDY, THESE HUMANS . . .

They never really brought whoever this guy was back or mentioned him once after this  :-\ Any idea who they might be?

To find out the answer to that question, uza, you must read the final book.

I read the final book, but I can't remember this guy being mentioned again  ???

It's Number 41, the one where Jake "dreams" that he goes in to the future where the war has been lost and he's supposedly a controller?

the One is the creature in the final book who absorbs Ax and is allied with the Yeerks.

I don't think it is The One, but that leaves me with no realistic options since it wasn't Ellimist or Crayak. Maybe KA was going to explain it and changed her mind, or maybe she always wanted it to be a mystery.

i didn't really think it was The One.
maybe K.A. never got around to it.. or maybe she wanted us to interpret it in different ways..?

maybe it was one of those Crayak things that KA did. She said that when she introduced the creature #6 she really didn't know what she was doing with that, but it was jus something she did in case she wanted to use it later. which she did.

so maybe that's what it was? but by 41 did we know the series was ending?

I just think he's another almost-all-powerful being out there somewhere...yeah I don't really care about tying up loose ends...

That book always made me kind of sad. The ending was ambiguous, and the very fact that he just woke up to hear a being somehow that didn't really relate to the story, nor did the actual story relate to the story, it just seemed like a bit of a waste overall, although I did like it, mostly because of the Cassie character side of the whole thing.
