I was re-reading book 7 a while ago, and remembered Older Rachel and Visser Three (One)'s reaction when the younger Animorphs showed up.
I think it was Visser Three who said, <You six humans...You five humans and Andalite.> Or something along those lines. Which makes me wonder. Who was the six Animorph, if not Ax? Who was the extra member in this group that was bound to fail?
What if it was you?
-
It can't have been me... I wouldn't have failed... ;)
I don't know for sure, but I suspect it might have been a hint to the appearance of David later in the series.
-
Well there's a part where Future Rachel or Future Visser 3 says something like 'Something has changed...'
I always assumed that was foreshadowing the events of The Andalite Chronicles where Ellimist changes history by having Elfangor not stay on Earth.

That line was said by the original Rachel who saw that both the Visser and older Rachel were scared to do anything to them, so she caught his "six humans" mix up.
The AC Ellimist theory is interesting, and I did not think about it before. Had the Ellimist not intervened, it's possible that the sixth human could've very well been Elfangor himself since he trapped himself as one. All of the technicalities of how he got the Animorphs their morphing powers, or obtaining the escafil device, etc, without him crashing in the construction site would've likely been different in that alternate timeline, but it could still be possible.
Or maybe that's too big of a leap and I'm just over thinking it entirely too much. Maybe what happened in AC is what was supposed to happen and is irrelevant to the changes that occurred in #7's alternate future. Maybe the 6th Animorph was still in fact David, but did not turn into a traitor in the alternate future, or maybe it was even a foreshadowing from K.A to the fans that a sixth Animorph was supposed to come down the line some time.
-
Oh i'd be a crap Animorph. I'd be such a coward :-\
Does anyone remember that choose your own adventure Ani book where you are the sixth animorph? i never liked that..
-
I've read both of those books. I'm not really big on that kind of book, and since they don't seem to be everywhere I guess they aren't the most popular. I did read them, though, and didn't hate them. The first was about you being an extra person at the con. site. The second was about MM2.
-
I think they were called...Alternamor phs? I'm not sure

yup.
i own both, got the 1st one more recently.
didn't like either.
-
They were ok...But at the same time, they were like, "Oh, hey, you chose this morph? Haha, you die!"
Kinda got on my nerves.
Mostly I just threw that last bit in because it seemed to fit.
But how do you know that it was David that was the 6th? What if it was, say, Melissa Chapman? That's what I always thought. KAA did sorta hint at that one in MM3. As a replacement for Rachel, you know?
-
remember the 'choose your own adventure' series?
i think if they had made it a bit longer and more branches it'd have been better.
animorphs was more like: choose correctly or die.
somebody on RAF should TOTALLY make one. ;D
-
The theory about how it could have been Elfangor doesn't really make a lot of sense, as he wouldn't have been morph capable if he was stuck as a nothlit human and he wouldn't have been able to give the Animorphs the power to morph, even if he had somehow managed to meet up with all of the Animorphs.
It can't really be Melissa either as in Megamorphs#3 she replaced Rachel, where as in the possible future shown in #7 Rachel is clearly still an Animorph. I think that it's either the David thing or just a random thing added in to build up a little mystery.
Oh, and the Alternamorphs books kinda sucked. Am I the only one who thought they read like a bad fanfic? If anybody on RAF did write one, I hope it's someone who can at least improve on the Alternamorphs books.

i just hope that at least at least it was a ghostwriter.
it would be embarrassing if KA actually wrote those :-\
-
So true...
If anyone did do it on RAF, it would be an improvement.
-
But how would it be done? If you choose option X, reveal spoiler Y?
If you choose option 1, skip to post number 23?
-
Using the spoiler tags is a good idea, that would make it a lot easier. And yes I think that if any RAFian wrote them it would be an improvement!

I did too. I can stand reading one, but they were still bad. in the first one ax actually says "cooler than my tail?" is anyone else having a hard time imagining ax saying that?
The second was about MM2.
actually the second one was sort of a mix of three books: book 20, book 26, and MM2...
-
Yeah, I caught that one.
Though I think it may have had...um...I wanna say 11 in there. With the Sanrio Rip. The one where Jake's morphing the jaguar.
Yeah, it was pre-Tobias morphing powers, so book 11. Sorry, mostly reassuring myself on the order...
But that may have been through one of the two choices. I don't remember.
-
Actually, I could imagine AX saying that. Even though he never said it in the main series, he is very fond of his tail.
-
Yeah, but he probably wouldn't use the word "cool". I don't think he understands what the moderate temperature between hot and cold has to do with anything.
-
lol yeah he would use a more sofisticated word
-
haha.
speaking of tail, anybody like this blade? (http://fc76.deviantart.com/fs7/i/2005/167/3/1/Aximili_by_doxnbox.jpg) ;)
-
XD Awesome pic, man.

book 11 was part of alternamorphs #1...
-
Oh, woops! XD It's been too long since I read them.
-
My choose your adventure choices:
You see Visser 3 in the clearing from Book 9 do you
a) use the .50 BMG anti-material rifle?
b) use the .338 Lapua Magnum super-accurate sniper rifle?
c) call in an airstrike?
-
can I choose d. morph something small and get the heck outta there?
-
No. Visser Three is holding bug-spray. That he pulled out of his
ass Z-Space.
I chose a!
-
haha.

It's off topic, but that is a really nice picture. The end of his tail should probably be shorter than the blade, though. Still, very nice.

now when did I say bug? I said something small, but necessarily a bug...
-
Idk. I figure most small things will be taken down by bug-spray. He could have a machete.

If the Ellimist changed things, I wonder who the fifth Animorph was. Rachel wasn't supposed to be there. Who's to say she would have ended up there again.

d. all of the above
