Title: What if Arbron showed up in book 43?
Post by: Chad32 on January 02, 2009, 10:12:05 PM
Someone posted once that they thought Arbron would show up in 43, when Tobias and Ax needed to morph a Taxxon. Now I never thought they'd bring him back, but let's think about it. How do you think that would go? Ax and Tobias go down to acquire a Taxxon, but when they make contact, they can't. I'd like to read people's ideas for this. I think it could be weird and funny, but not sure how to make it interesting.

Thank you so much for posting this.  I was so hoping Arbron would show up in #43 (so I might be the person you mentioned).  Anyways, I think it would have been pretty easy to insert Arbron into 43's plot.  After arriving on Earth, Arbron gets himself involved in Taylor's plan as a way to contact the Andalite bandits.  He is either the Taxxon Ax and Tobias need to acquire or he shadows the  Taxxon fufilling that function and contacts them via thoughtspeak.  Arbron reveals his own story and blows the whistle on Taylor, but of course the Animorphs aren't sure.  The book ends with a tenuous alliance with the rebel Taxxons.

To be honest, I never cared for Taxxons. Even after book 53. I've come to sympathise with Yeerks, but Taxxons are another story.

Taxxon's to me were land sharks. They like the shark are ruled my the need to feed its not that they are a bad race its that they follow the food that the Yeerks gave to them.

They're worse than sharks because they're cannibals. Sentient cannibals. Sharks may go into a frenzy over blood, but not to the extent that Taxxons do.

we know that it's possible for them to supress it, especially with the help of the Living Hive. Which may be a merged group of Taxxon Queens.

yeah taxxons were never my favorite, but that's what makes Arbron's fate even insidious.

If only he had been trapped as a Skrit-Na.

Elfangor: GET THAT NA!

(Book 19 reference)

very funny

My biggest disappointment with Arbron coming back so late & in a Jake narration is that we don't get to see Tobias and Ax interact with him.  The revelation scene you were alluding to in your first post would have been great.  Also, isn't it kinda of weird that Tobias never gets a narration that features another nothlit: Arbron, Aldrea, or David.  I think it would have been awesome having a nothlit's perspective on another nothlit.

Yeah, that is weird. He really should have come back in a Tobias/Ax narrated book. Even if it was just a filler book, I would like to see something like what you mentioned.

We're talking about Arbron, Morfowt. The Andalite that got stuck in Taxxon morph during TAC. Not David.

I was replying to what dolphin said:

Morfowt, in #23 David was a passing reference made more for the readers to catch up.  I'm talking about interaction; the character is a part of the story and that nothlit and Tobias get a chance to compare notes and so on.

i still think that nothlits can be acquired.
we argued in my other thread a while back that maybe tobias was an exception (loren acquired him) since the ellimist gave him back his powers, but they never honestly tried to acquire a nothlit before.

I don't know. A morph can't be acquired, so you can't acquier rachel's bear after she morphs it. I always thought that a nothlit is still in morph. Arbron would still be in a permanent morph. I think since Tobias' bird morph became his normal body, that he remains an exception.

Though I don't think it was ever brought up. What I assume to be true may not actually be true. The only thing I can say for sure is that a nothlit is someone trapped in morph. Being trapped in a morph implies that the body is still considered a morph.

I know. I was just saying that he was mentioned...

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so rude.
