Does anyone else sometimes think that KA overdoes the interracial thing? Marco and rachel's parents, Cassie and Jake, Marco and Rachel in another reality, Rachel and Tobias, assuming that Tobias is caucasion in hhis Human form.
Or maybe these kinds of relationships are more common than I think they are. I never really thought of them as common, even though I have two couples on my mother's side of the family that are interracial.
-
sometimes i felt that it was kinda on purpose but now i just think that cassie was black and jake was white and nothing more
-
I never thought it was intentional. It's rarely pointed out for one.
-
Jake and Rachel's fathers were also Jewish...it's cool that the series put in a lot of diversity, but every single relationship almost IS between two people from different backgrounds.
And that's not even including interspecies stuff--Dak Hamee/Aldrea, Edriss/Essam/their hosts, Elfangor/Loren...have I missed any? XD It's all about breaking barriers, I guess, and that people are just people...no matter where they come from.
-
whoa...rachel's parents were interracial? what were their ethnicities? i totally missed that!
i actually find the interspecies stuff weirder.

it's an brilliant ploy to have the interracial stuff covered up with the interspecies stuff.
i also think that there was a topic labeled "Interspecies Action!" on the old board.

Yea, stuff gets weird in animorphs. I assume that Tobias was white just because of the cover models and the fact that if someone was of a different race, it was mentioned, if only once. And Tobias Rachel, is Rachel with a hawk who can only turn into a 13 year old human for 2 hours at a time. Have you also noticed that all these relationships tend to end sadly?

Yeah, the only one that is explicitly discussed in the book is Jake and Cassie. I didn't even notice the others until I read this just now.

Rachel's dad was Jewish and I don't think her mom grew up Jewish, although I don't think either of them actually practiced.
I don't consider marrying a Jewish person interracial, though. That's more inter-faith. Jewish people come in all races.
-
Wow, I never noticed there were so many relationships like that, lol!
-
Is there any indication Jakes mom is or isn't Jewish, cuz that may or maynot be another one.
And no, I don't think it was over done because she never made a big deal of it.
It was "oh, yep, they're different, now onto important stuff"
Plus you know, this is six "random kids" out of California, it's not an unbelievable occurrance.
-
yeah, Jewish would be....i guess in a way interracial.
but yeah, i forgot they're in california. so not too unusual.
