If Visser 3 had died early in the series, what do you think would have been the effect on the Yeerk war effort?
Might his successor have done a better job and succeeded in exposing the Animorphs and winning Earth?
-
Probably.

V1 probably would have been assigned the job. I even made an RP character once where V3 died in book 8, V1 came back, and the Yeerks won the war.

If Ax had succeeded in killing V3 in #8, he probably would have made more desperate efforts to leave Earth as he had nothing left to stay for. He wasn't that close to the Animorphs at that point, so wouldn't have stayed for them.
If Ax had been able to leave, the Animorphs wouldn't have had his specialist knowledge, and would have been taken out early by Gleet BioFilters or something.
-
That's true. If ax left, they'd be boned in a number of ways. The bio filters would be a big example, because they only survived because Ax started screaming at them to get out of there. Which he practically never does, so you'd better believe they listened.

I have a strategy for Visser 1 AKA Marco's Mom: Capture the Animorphs, then ask them what it would take to get them to coexist with the Yeerks. After all, V1 went to great lengths to figure out how to get humans to accept infestation voluntarily.
