Title: Losing A Tail Blade
Post by: Tim Bruening on July 04, 2015, 08:17:40 PM
PP 53-54 of The Beginning: Ax finds it necessary to issue a challenge to an Andalite Prince.  He says that if he loses, he will be exiled and his tail blade will be cut off.  But can't Ax simply morph and demorph to restore his tail blade?

the idea of exile and losing a tail blade is probably a historical and longstanding tradition. to lose a tail blade would be probably the worst dishonor in andalite custom. This tradition has obviously been around for centuries if not longer and, as seen in the many andalite conversations, (primarily book 8 and HB chronicles) andalites value honor to a great extent.
the relatively new invention of the morphing technology obviously creates the possibility of being able to remorph the tail blade, however, this would probably be the lowest of the low in terms of honor and discovery of an exile with a remorphed tail blade would bring even greater shame on the family lineage and could even be punished by ordering a death sentence for the entire family line so as to remove such dishonor from the andalite bloodline. therefore it can be assumed that remorphing a tail blade after exile would be unthinkable. no doubt andalite scientists are looking into the possibility of being able to remove the morphing technology from someone with the ability who is the n exiled.

Yeah.  Re-morph the tailblade, you'd still be dishonored as a freak.

It probably has something to do with the way you imagine yourself when morphing. That's how you would be able to keep a haircut...

Could one imagine away fat when morphing?

No. You can probably only control minor details in your morph such as haircuts, earrings, tattoos, ect.

Suppose I get hypnotized to imagine myself with much less fat.  Would that allow me to morph and them demorph as a thinner man?

Well no, I'm not sure if you could just leave extra mass from your original from in Z space.

I bet that Cassie (being a superstar morpher) could pull off my morphing weight loss trick!
