Let's face facts that most all films and books are probably someone who's read or watched a book/film of the previous generation and thought, "When I grow up, I'm going to write something like that" and Animorphs is no different XD
I'd definitely say James Cameron (the creator of Avatar) was a fan at some stage; although the movie has a very different storyline from Animorphs, there's still the blue aliens (Na'vi) and the main character is called Jake, brother to the deceased Tom
I suppose you could say the way the humans go into their avatar bodies is similar to morphing too
There's a webcomic I read called Dark White which, again, is not similar story-wise to Animorphs but does contain werewolves that can shapeshift at will and a creature known as Oracle who looks very, very similar to an Andalite :kitty:
There's a link to Oracle's concept art and the website for the comic :) http://www.darkwhitecomic.com/wp-content/gallery/art-gallery/oracle_chsketchweb.jpg (http://www.darkwhitecomic.com/wp-content/gallery/art-gallery/oracle_chsketchweb.jpg)
Regardless I still love all three of these things :D But is there anything you guys have watched where you're like, "Mmm Animorphs" or even is there anything you think Animorphs was inspired by?

Not a serious answer, but the first time i saw this, the Animorphs were the first thing to come to mind:

Well, Cameron wrote Avatar in like '94/'95, so the broad concept for that predates Animorphs.
Hm, I don't know if anything's coming to mind for stuff directly inspired by it, though I guess a lot of the modern young adult fiction stuff shares a lot of similarities and chances are the authors might be familiar with it.
I watched the 1993 Body Snatchers remake a while back though. Way better than the recent Nicole Kidman/Daniel Craig version, and while the specifics of it are pretty different to Animorphs, it really, really frickin' really shares the same paranoid tone/vibe. And for that it's just awesome, about the most Animorphs-y thing I've seen. And the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers (and I suppose the remake which was pretty fresh and recent when Animorphs started) have been said by K.A. to be big inspirations for the series.
