Blaze, you may want to indicate that you're talking to the bartender, and I highly doubt he sells any sort of weaponry.

The bartender could give him a kitchen knife. Given that meat sometimes needs to be cut to be eaten, it wouldn't really be out of left field for the bartender to hand the guy a kitchen utensil.
