*cough* Email.
Not kidding about the email. I can put little red scary exclamation points next to things I need to do in email. I can't on RAF. >_<
Today be Wednesday, drat drat drat, and I need to build that flippin' model.
Shouldn't have stayed up so late with my pal watchin' xxxHolic.
*maintains intent, but still no promises*
We'll see what we'll see.
*hugs again*

...*watches it ZINNNNG!!! by me*
I do not want to get into how ridiculously long it took me to put together that blasted flapjacking model.
I LOVE YOU PEOPLE! FORGIVE MEEEEE!!!
Chapter SixSomeplace between Indiana and wherever Shorty is in Ohio"Okay, guys, I just checked the RAFchat; Shorty says we're about sixty miles southeast of him. If we take the third-from-next exit, it'll direct us that way."
Estelore set her laptop on 'hibernate', stuffed it into her backpack, and turned the car's key in the ignition. For easily the tenth time in six hours, the crew had stopped at a McDonald's parking lot for no reason but to hijack their wi-fi and keep up-to-date on the goings on online.
"I still don't know why the web is working; all the phone lines are down. I have no cell reception, but your laptop is fine, and so is every other computer that connected to RAF in the last twenty-four hours." Goom seemed puzzled, which was perfectly understandable; the technophile mod was out of his element on this one.
BabababOOOOOOMMMM!!!A pale green flash filled the sky, and the next thing they knew, Este, Goom, and Jen were all flat on their backs, staring skyward.
Este blinked and raised one hand straight up over her a split second before her car could squash the three of them. It hovered overhead for half a beat, and then slowly she redirected it, making the...
crater?...the crater that used to be a McDonald's more attractive on the small Ford than the Earth was, at that particular moment.
"Ermn... thanks, Este?"
"Could you say that again, please, Goom? I'm afraid whatever the heck that was really messed up my hearing." Estelore tried to stand up, but wobbled a bit on her feet, still dizzy.
"GUYS."
"Yeah, Jen?" Goom swivelled to face her.
"GUYS, look UP."
All three slowly craned their heads back, and looked up.
And up.
And up some more.
And then simultaneously all three jaws dropped.
"Jen," Goom whispered shakily, "is that what I think it is?"
"I really
realllly hope not."
Approximately five miles above Earth's surfaceJax looked down from the Blade Ship at what was left of a small fast-food diner. If he were a bit more attentive, he might have seen two tallish figures helping a shorter figure to her feet, into a rather dented silver car, and
the heck out of there.
