Hi Clara, welcome to RAF!

There are 54 books in the Animorphs series, unless you count the various chronicles (the Andalite Chronicles, the Ellimist Chronicles, the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, and Visser) and the 4 Megamorphs books.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Could you please elaborate a bit?

[spoiler]
Yep, Jake & the others did beat the Yeerks. The series does end, although it ends on a cliffhanger: Ax is captured by an alien known as the One and Jake, Marco, and Tobias go to rescue him.
The series is currently over, but there are rumors of a possible "Animorphs 2.0". We do know that the original Animorphs series will be re-released soon, with new covers; it's likely this is partially to see what the public response is. If the public response is favorable, Scholastic may bring the series back. If the public response is unfavorable, the series will probably stay finished.

Welcome on RAF, Clara ^^
As you can see, I'm French, your neighbor, and I've also read most of the Animorphs in French.
I'd like to know more about the German version:
How many books were translated in German?
Did they "translate" some words like "Yeerk" ("Yirk" in French), "Visser" ("Vysserk") and that kind of stuff?
And if you read them in English now, do you see differences in the translations? Like... missing parts?
In French, one of Rachel's sisters has another name than in English. And they didn't translate Ellimist, and the volumes #47 to #52. The French 47 is the English #53, with a short summary of the previous volumes. Then the French 48 is the English #54. And both miss some parts and characters, the characters who appeared in the books who weren't translated.
In Italy, they didn't have the final books.
I'd like to know, for Germany.

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy your staying here. You can add your introduction is the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=7.0 (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=7.0) Board, so everybody can know you more and welcome you, and tell you more about the forum ^^

hi dameg, thanks for the welcome :)
now..finally i have time to answer:well, the books are translated until vol.29,marcos book.
the translations in german seem to be quite similar to those in french: there is also written "yirk" and "visser".I think hork-bajir,taxxon etc is the same than in english?
as i haven't read the books in english yet,i can't tell you anything about differences, but I will tell you then.
Rachels sister are called Sara and Kate. The Ellimist is called Ellimist, right.or did you mean the Ellimist Chronicles?
okay..when I have more time,I will introduce myself in the thread,as you said.

In the English versions, it's Sara and Jordan, not Sara and Kate. :)

I'm glad to see you around--is it harder to read the books in English? Do you still find them enjoyable?

Yeah, it's Jordan in the original version, but Kate in French too ^^'
Hork-Bajir, Taxxon, etc. are the same in English, French and - as I can see - German. But here some differences between French and English, you can add German if you want:
English - French
Visser - Vysserk
Yeerk - Yirk
Leeran - Leiran
Chee - Chey
Ellimist - Ellimiste
Jordan - Kate
Howlers - Hurleurs (translation)
Jara Hamee - Jere Aimie (or something like that ^^')
Seerow - Sierow

Leeran-Leeraner
Chee-they are spelled "Djee"
Howlers-Heuler
Jara Hamee and Seerow are the same...

Of course you'll enjoy them ^^ Really, reading them in the original language is better. In the translations, they... "forgot" some parts, some things...

That's so sad to hear that the series has been translated to other languages but that they didn't finish it. That's almost cruel as a publisher to start translating a series but not in some way contract for the entire thing to be finished on a set schedule. I wish had already taken the time to become multi-lingual and could offer to pick up on a project if it stopped.
