Hello, fellow morphers!
« on: January 04, 2011, 12:55:55 AM »
Hi all, I'm so happy to have come upon this forum! I was such a big anifan back when. I seriously had a friend named Jason who I always just called Jake because they were so much alike, haha. Tobias was always my favorite character, and ever since I was young, not a day goes by that I don't look for hawks in the sky.

I still have my entire collection of books, but they're in storage sadly. I'm really eager for the re-release of the first five books, it's amazing news to me!! I'm buying them for sure, and really, really hoping that they might release more in the series with the cool morphing covers too!

Anyway I think this is a cool website, it's great to stumble upon other anifans after all these years! Later!!!

Thank you Tara, Goom and Ash! Had I known such a forum existed, I certainly would have been here sooner LOL

As for questions, I've searched a lot on here and the other site, Hirac Delest, and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer at least thus far, but I'll ask anyway just in case I missed an update: Do we know if after the six re-releases, if they will do anymore of the series?

I'd really love to collect and read them all again! My books are all still in storage and will be quite impossible to get to, so that's why I'd absolutely love for a full re-release! Lemme know!! Thanks Anifans!!

It was news to me when I first stumbled onto this forum.

Like with anything, I think the major factor is going to be whether or not the series sells as well as it did when it first came out. Is it just going to be nostalgic fans or are they going to appeal to a younger audience who will recharge the series?

The beauty part about now as opposed to twenty years ago is that we have seen what fans can do when they want their favorite series to do well.

Fans of the Firefly series got their Firefly movie. And, a group of fans made the Browncoats: Redemption fanfilm which was approved by Joss Whedon. The proceeds went to the charities that the cast of Firefly supported.

Fans of Moonlight may not have gotten their sequel or their Moonlight movie (yet) but Alex Oloughlin will always have work because of the love his fans have for him. And on that note, look at how big the vampire movie and book genre has gotten thanks to fans of Twilight. (How I hate crediting that series with anything, but there you go.)

I think there's a lot of good projects that we as the fans of KA Applegate's series can get going to make this re-release worth continuing.

wHELLcome, XTob! (Your name is too long, may I call you like that?)
I'm Vis... I'm Dameg, another RAFian. Come with me, please, I have something to show you. It's here, after this door *Open a heavy door* We call them the RAFprojects. *Lead XTob to a long and dark hallway, with many doors, some in the dark, some with light coming from the other side. Arrive near the first door* Here at your left...

- RAFipedia: http://rafipedia.wetpaint.com/, an encyclopedia headed up by Estelore, our star (a true star, who make light and burn in space... but she has a body to come on Earth);

Next it's...

- the Audiobooks project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0, a full-cast audio version of Animorphs who need more "actors" and voices, headed by Kit Cloudkicker (Jess), MrGuy, Morfowt, and Wildweathel;

Facing it...

- the Graphic Novel project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,416.0.html and http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0.html, a Webcomic headed by Gafrash.

You also have...

- the Smiley project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1691.0.html, we make Animated gifs, smileys about Animorphs (Andalites, Hork-Bajirs...);

here and facing it is...

- the Translation project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1907.0.html, a recently started project/mutual support group for translations into other languages; currently only in French (Tocade, Anidragon and myself), Chinese (Morfowt), Indonesian (Nat), Swedish (Mira and Zana), and Esperanto (Wildweathel); we translate only the volumes never edited in our countries/languages, to make the ebooks;

Next door is for the special project:

- http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3738.0.html: the adventures of the RAFians;

At the end it's for the little projects:

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3810.0.html;

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3911.0.html to make the planets we hear about in Animorphs;

- the paper-RPG project: a role-playing game (on table, with paper, pen and dices...) about the World of Animorphs; I head this project, and it'll be write in French at the beginning, but we need help to find, class and write everything we know about the species, the planets, the powers we see in Animorphs, fix them, see what we keep and what we can't keep (because of the KASU, not clear, exception for the main characters/books, etc.), complete the knowledges about species/planets we know and even create new species/planets...; this project will be on my own website, so if you wanna join, ask me the link ^^;

- the RPG project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,4069.0.html to make a video game about Animorphs, with RPGmaker;

- the Command-line game project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3787.0.html for another kind of video game about Animorphs;

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3773.0.html where we count all the people killed by the Animorphs;

- the RAFkaraoke: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3150.0.html and http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3635.msg245735.html#msg245735, where we make songs (and sing them?)...

- the One RAFian On Volume project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=5317.0 where everybody take a picture of him/herself with a volume of Animorphs... <= We need a lot of RAFians to participate! You only need a volume of Animorphs (rented if you don't have any) & a camera/webcam

and some other projects who come and go. Please check the list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/board,13.0.html

*Standing in front of XTob* I hope you enjoyed your visit. Oh, and I also invite you to add your species on this list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2154.0.html 'coz everybody isn't Human here. And we like to know who is what... For example, as you'll probably see, I'm a Controller. ... and if you want, you can add your age too: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,318.0.html... and say where do you live here: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=5049.0 so Marie can add you on the RAFworld Map!
We also opened a http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=36.0 to teach to each others our languages and other stuffs.

Now I have to go, I don't invite you for the meal, sorry. *Beginning to go down dark stairs. XTob can hear a cry coming from the cave.*
Have fun! And come to the 1RAFian-1Volume project!
*Dameg disappears into the darkness, XTob is now alone in the hallway*

 :D Same, NateSean! I'm very happy fans like us can unite on sites like this, so there will always be hope for something new with Animorphs to happen. I probably screamed like a girl when I first heard of the re-release haha!

Thank you, Steph and Marie, nice to meet you too!!! Everyone I've met on here as been very welcoming and courteous! I admit I'm always somewhat reluctant to join boards in fear of meeting the wrong people, but everyone on here seems cool! We're all here for the same reason, we love the animorphs!!

Haha, XTob is fine by me! Sorry my name is too long, its actually the name of the first AIM screenname I ever had back in 2005, so once I cracked my password I decided to sign up with the same name, keep it simple and show my fandom, haha!

RAFprojects sound great!!!  Wow! I'd killlllll for an audio book series! I heard the German (I think) version samples on that Hirac Delest site. And a Graphic Novel!!! Oh man, I'd be first in line to buy that if it ever got made! I liked the TV show, but I always felt like it might have done better as an animation of some sort, ya know to make the morphing stuff easier I guess. Still, I'll take what I can get!!

The projects all sound REALLY cool! Wow, I'm really glad I found this forum! Please, excuse me if I seem over hyper haha, I assure you I am a mature adult, but guilty of going into crazed happy kid fan when I come back to my favorite series.

Side note, just something I think is cool. My friend Jason and I were at first big fans of Beast Wars, and then in the TV series, they're always playing the Beast Wars game. I had that game but always sucked at it LOL I just thought that was a cool/weird link that my two favorite series would have with each other!

Thank you all, I look very forward to getting more involved with this site! Anifans rule!
