This includes morphs they should have used instead of a morph they used in a particular book. Also, things they should have morphed earlier, like the mallard. Or things you think would have looked cool, funny, or would have just ended the war quicker. And maybe morphs they should have morphed more often. Also, be sure to number all suggestions.
1) Ostrich!
Let's face it; Ostriches kick butt! As we discussed in the What would YOUR Battle Morph Be? thread, these buggers are fast and tough. If there's one thing that could have caught a Garatron, my bet would be Ostrich.
-
Pangolins.

The world's weirdest mammal :D
-
The Howler from Book 26. And also, the duck-billed platypus. Why? Because they're just that awesome. :D
-
Porcupines. Skunks are nasty, certainly. But a porcupine does damage. Plus, predators can and do frequently approach and try to attack skunks if they're hungry enough. A pride of lions will actually cut a porcupine a wide berth.
Wolverines. There's a reason why my favorite X-man is called Wolverine and it's not because he poops in the woods. These things will attack animals twice their size because they just don't like them.
I think shark morph should have been a no brainer from the get go. Hardly anything messes with a shark and that pesky breathing problem would be solved.
I think a polar bear or some kind of predatory morph that withstands the cold would have been another no brainer before going to the North Pole. The Gardens has to at least have an arctic fox.
For that matter, the Arn can create animals. So why not have the one surviving Arn whip up a nasty morph that could actually stand a chance against Visser Three's arsenal? And when the Animorphs were off world, why not take the opportunity to find some firepower for the purpose of actually making said Visser turn tail and run? Do all the alien zoos out there have some kind of unaccompanied minor rules?
-
I really wanted to see one of them morph a white tiger. Although, that would probably be silly, since Jake already had a tiger.
So we have:
1) Ostrich
2) Pangolin
3) Howler
4) Porcupines
5) Wolverines
6) Shark
7) Polar Bear
8) Duck Biller Platypus
9) Something cooked up by the arn/creature from the deep (which I always agreed with)
-
10) Liger
(http://0.tqn.com/d/urbanlegends/1/0/v/B/liger1_sm.jpg)
Cross between a male Lion and a female Tiger, Ligers are the largest known species of big cat. Getting hold of one to acquire would be difficult, as there not exactly common in captivity and don't exist in the wild, but if they could find one it would be seriously badass.
-
That's where my theory about the frolis maneuver comes in.
Animals that are compatible breeders should have combinable DNA. And there are some nasty hybrids out there.
-
A Lemur....I like Lemurs.
-
12) Oragutan...Have you seen those things? Would have put Marco's gorilla to shame.
-
That's where my theory about the frolis maneuver comes in.
Animals that are compatible breeders should have combinable DNA. And there are some nasty hybrids out there.
Interesting theory. I always assumed that it only worked when merging multiple DNA patterns of the same species, but it makes sense for it to work with any creatures that are genetically compatible.
-
How about morphing a camel? That way when Marco's making wisecracks, he really WILL be a jackass. ;D
But seriously, I'd loved it if the Animorphs had morphed hedgehogs. Why? Do you need to ask?
METAL SONIC: There is only one Sonic-nic-nic-nic-nic.
SONIC: No, DON'T!
KNUCKLES: Don't do it, Sonic!
SONIC: METAL!!!!

I thought of it for an Animorphs role-playing game (on paper with die, you know...), as a kind of level (when you begin to morph, you can just morph the person/animal you took, then you can mix 2 DNA from the same species, then from close species, then from quite different species (at the final end, and it's difficult and dangerous)). I'd like to play an Animorphs RPG, but... writing it is sooooo long... and deciding the rules is kind of difficult sometimes.
-
I know its off-topic, but if Andalites seemed to have the ability to mix DNA, like how Ax did when he acquired the animorphs, then why not have Ax mix the dna of a couple of diffrent animals (Lion and tiger) for example. And become a huge morph capable of handling a good amount of Hork Bajir.
On a side note, Why didn't the animorphs have the ability to mix DNA, woulda made another good use of thier only weapon.
-
They probably assumed it couldn't be done, or that it could only be done with human DNA--which they wouldn't have attempted, giving their "no morphing sentinents rule".
-
They could have used Andalite (read: Aximili) morphs to their tactical advantage, especially in the early days, to play up their reputation as the dastardly Andalite bandits. In a similar vein they should have found more use, and earlier, for Hork-Bajir morphs. And imagine Cassie using an Andalite or Hork-Bajir battle morph— bit more useful than a wolf, if you ask me.
-
Panda Bear would have been cool. Though, I'm not exactly sure if they'd be much in a fight.
-
How about morphing a camel? That way when Marco's making wisecracks, he really WILL be a jackass. ;D
Erm...jackasses are donkeys, not camels. :P
-
What number are we on?
I think flamingo would have been a cool morph for a book. Just imagine what kind of story would be behind that.
Also, I always thought it would be interesting for someone to morph something like a barnacle or giant clam. I'm not sure why though...
-
We're at 18 if you include your comment on barnacles and clams. And if you omit what's been said about Hork-Bajir, Andalites and the Frolis Manouever.
-
19. Pigeon
They always said how seagulls were like pigeons and could go anywhere, but why not just morph an actual pigeon?
-

Tobias would've been kicked out of the Hawk Fraternity, that's why. Re-read #14 for why I say this.
20. Yeerks
Just think about it, people. I know Cassie did this in #29, but she did it for a totally different reason.
They could have saved some of the people whose Yeerks died from the end of #7 to between #8 and #9.
-
Using a Yeerk morph would have been a risky venture. All it would take is for one host body of a high ranking Yeerk to go missing.

...And this didn't happen in #45?
Maybe Rachel could've acquired a Yeerk in #17 and escaped that way. See my rant on plot for more details.

21: Chuck Norris. ;D
22: if they could mix i say aquire a bunch of people that you come into contact with like friends and familly and each other. Gets past the bio-filters and its different every time.
23:Girl scouts. If theirs a rich controller than they get inside then Ax demorphs and knocks out said controller. But where would they get thr uniforms........ :kitty:

Um... the girl scout supply store? I'm bettin' you just walk in and by it. :P
Personally, I think the 'Morphs should have all acquired the same animals. Why is Rachel the only one with the Bald Eagle morph? That means that she always has to bear the weight if and when they have to carry anything. And why is Jake the only one with the Tiger morph? Do they want Visser Three to be able to begin to recognize them, if not as who they are as people, but as who they are as individuals? That makes it easier for them to realize who's the leader and what not. I'm not sure if they did ever realize 'the tiger's the leader', but it surely could have happened. And Rachel's Elephant and Grizzly were so useful so many times. Why didn't they all have the same morphs?!?!? Another example: Marco and Ax use their snake morphs as important parts of missions more than once. Surely it wouldn't be hard at all for each of them to get a venomous snake morph. And honesly, having Andalite (via Ax), Taxxon, and Yeerk morphs for all of them would have been really smart, along with Leerans, and just about any other alien they ran into.

I think Tobias was the only one without a Leeran morph.
-
or they could mug some girl scouts because I'm pretty sure those things are expensive.
24: Some real guerrilla fighters with guns.
-
I don't think I would read a book where the Animorphs motored into little girls...
-
Actually I'd be curious to what instincts that would come with.
-
I think Tobias was the only one without a Leeran morph.
Didn't he pop back home about the time they got the Leeran morphs? Oh...and do they still have the Leeran morphs? Didn't the whole Z-space thingy erase...oh dear, I went crosseyed.
-
lol how about jake using ihs T-rex morph.
-
He popped out right before they went into the Leeran ocean.
And where have you been, buddy? I've been making jokes in the "Things they'd never say" and have gotten zero laughs :p
-
ill check em out
-
I'd be interested to see what being a woodpecker felt like. The constant pecking mustn't give them a headache otherwise they wouldn't do it ...would they?
-

Busy, mate. Sorry for the delay.
-
i think they should have morphed penguins...not too helpful but they are so cool
-
Really? Penguins? Most useless animal ever. At least we can eat chickens or they would be pointless to.
-
Generally I like to avoid morphing anything that has ever at any point been stamped with a Grade A.
-
They should have morphes pit bulls an entire pack of pit bulls. Scary
-
They should have morphed into...a centaur. ::)
-
A blue centaur, 4 eyes and a long tail with a blade?
-
A blue centaur, 4 eyes and a long tail with a blade?
Heh no...close...but no.
-
cassie once used her talents to kind of do that while demorphing. Don't think that would be very usefull though. To freak people out they could have morphed bat/dove wings and walked into a church.
-
In any discrete morph you could manipulate people by thought speaking to them. Any bird would do for outdoors and insect morphs for indoors.
-
That would be a huge problem in china. There they eat all their birds and insects. the question is WHY!
-
Porcupines. Skunks are nasty, certainly. But a porcupine does damage. Plus, predators can and do frequently approach and try to attack skunks if they're hungry enough. A pride of lions will actually cut a porcupine a wide berth.
Porcupines are super slow, which often leads to them being hit by cars at night because they are so dark. And their quills only work at a very close range, which would be too close for comfort for the Animorphs. Skunks have a spray range of about... ohh... I think 15-25 feet? And the smell is almost impossible to get rid of.
-
A chicken so they could peck at Visser Three's hooves LOL.
-
ROFL Depends on the chicken. :P
Kangaroos. Nature's kickboxers!
-
Oh yeah a Kangaroo very nice.
-
Squirrels!!!! Hyperactive fur balls who can chew wires and destroy things!!!
-
Squirrels!!!! Hyperactive fur balls who can chew wires and destroy things!!!
I think Cassie morphed one in book 4 The Message.
-
ahh ok. XD
-
But as far as I know, that was the only time. And it was fast, but Tobias nearly had her as a little snack that night.
-
:S Yikes!!
Ok, lets see.... what else..... BEAVERS!!!!
-
I don't know about a beaver might be to slow but its a good idea.
-
I was kidding on the beavers :P
Mountain lions are far more deadly.
-
Oh Mountain Lions might be a very good idea.
-
They already morphed beavers.
-
I ALREADY SAID I WAS JOKING WITH THE BEAVERS!!!! lololol.
But yeah this wouldve been a good one:
-
Hahaha nice a Mountain Lion would be a good pick.
-
XD
They should have morphed Chihuahuas!!!! Like this one:

-
they should have morphed billionares.
-
they should have morphed billionares.
I.E. Marco should have acquired Joe Bob Fenestre in #16?
I think they should have morphed the Nartec.
-
I think they should have done some rockstar aquiring with a new sario rip.
-
I think they should have done some rockstar aquiring with a new sario rip.
Re-read #10. Jake and Marco could have gotten morphs of Alanis Morrissette.
-
I think they could have made a few bucks by acquiring people in the andalites gift. You know, fly to vegas, morph george washington, take a few pictures with tourists.
-
How does one acquire the DNA of a dead historical figure?
-
I can imagine Jurassic Park + Animorphs crossover :XD:
-
How does one acquire the DNA of a dead historical figure?
In one of the megamorphs they go back in time in a way taht does NOT involve a sario rip and try to stop someone from rewriting history. They ended up going to multiple historical periods including the crossing of the deleware lead by george washington in an attempt to attack a german camp, on midnight, on christmas.
-
That was with the Time Matrix. It's not in their possession anymore.
-
Im suprised that they didn't mess with stuff to make things better.
-
They debated on it, but the new time line shattered before it could come to that.
-
What's to debate about? World peace, no hungry people, stopping certain politicians from ever being born.
-
It wasn't their place to change history.
-
I think the animorphs should have morphed way more other humans. Has anyone mentioned this yet?
-
yeah we've suggested historical figures, rockstars, billionares, and girl scouts.
-
Oh alright lol. Well I was thinking more along the lines of political and community leaders and stuff. They could morph Chapman and ruin his reputation etc.
-
A.....Moose.
-
actually mooses are pretty tough
-
Yep, Moose are flippin' scary when they get ticked.
I think that it would have been neat if they'd morphed the Veleek. I know that they'd just be a group of six little particles, but they move *fast* and can sense energy. That's a useful skill, I think.
-
Wonder if helmacron instincts would cause an overdose of pride.........their either born stupid or had too much pot with their cherios.
-
Morph into Hulk Hogan. No one can beat Hulk'Mania Brother.
Body Slam Visser Three and have him Drink His Milk.
-
do andalites make milk.
-
LOL I have no clue.Maybe they have an...uh...Andalite cow?
-
not sure that would be safe.....I mean touch it wrong and that tail would go crazy. I assume that since their deer like their cow like animals would be built in a similar way.
-
LOL Have Ax morph into a cowtaur and give free milk to everyone. :P
-
would they pasturize it or just drink it straight?
-
LOL That would be an odd and funny sight to see.Although there was a Simpsons episode years ago where Ned Flanders was a cowtaur and Homer Simpson milked his teats.
-
wrong so wrong
-
LOL I didn't think it was wrong.I though it was funny as anything I'd ever seen on any show before.
But anyway back on topic,Ax would look funny being milked by Cassie at the farm.
-
but ax is male........
-
I meant if he was a cowtaur, complete with an udder, hence the milk bit.
-
m'kay
-
What about Tobias getting some owl morphs? I mean, how many times has he been in danger at night because he couldn't see? You'd think he would smarten up!
-
Cause he could have fallen asleep while in his tree
-
Malagasy Flat-Tailed gecko and Octopus. Best camouflage artists out there.
-
Still to risky too hide as an out of place lizard. And an octopus is only good for underwater missions nad eavesdropping in a swimming pool.
-
actually, they morphed the polar bear and shark before
-
The polar bear was only morhped for the use to survive in the artic and in oe other time when they needed to hit them hardest
-
what about one hippo or boar or something? they already get one elephant and one rhino, now only missing the big pig with mean mean attitude and tusks like spears?
-
um that isnt that powerfull.
-
A boar can do quite a bit of damage actually. Of course a rhino can do ten times that and actually take a bullet or two.
-
my point
-
hmm, when i go camping in the woods, i worry about bears and boars. bears i can handle, but boars have a bad attitude
-
I think during some battle with the Yeerks they should have led them to the mall, then have someone morph a WHALE on the glass roof, I think that would squish a few hundred Yeerks... >:D
This might have also worked for David ;D
Then, of course, they would have pointed out that they only wanted to kill Yeerks not humans...etc...etc. ................
...
...
Let's just morph the whale anyways XD
-
YAY!
-
could it be possible to morph like one tape worm or other parasite and parasite on the parasites? read it a couple times, then it'll make sense
-
thars kind of disgusting though.
-
but then you could infiltrate the controllers and target the yeerks and not so much hurt the people
-
what would it accomplish though, besides making a host much more hungry for 2 hours
-
maybe tape worm was a bad example, but there are all sorts of other parasites, like ones that attack muscles, bones, brain, skin, sinuses, whatever. the 'morphs could just direct themselves into the yeerk, leave some asexual eggs inside the yeerk and hightail it outta there. yeerk goes into the pool 3 days later with tons of parasites which spread to the fellow yeerks. it's combat war of the worlds style
-
but where would they capture the said deadly parasites without being afflicted themselves?
-
should kill the parasite when they morph/demorph, as it's not part of their original DNA, right?
-
I dont really think parasite eggs are part of DNA. The nest you could hope is that something goes wrong with the eggs when your organs and bones shift. Even then how would they get the parasites
-
there are literally millions of different parasites that we know of. we are exposed to who knows how many of them and they pass harmlessly through our bodies. since yeerks are deemed similar to slugs, there could be some earth parasites that could affect them aliens. there are parasites that are species specific and other that are generalizers. it would take ages to find a parasite that might affect them, but it could be done.
there really are parasites that will only negatively affect slugs and won't do anything to humans. if it were to affect yeerks in the same manner, then the yeerks could be exposed to them and all hosts would be fine
-
Trouble with the tapeworm is that it's entire body is made for reproduction. One piece breaks off and it grows into a new worm. You're talking about the most prolific breeder in nature.
And you take into account what happened to Rachel with just two halves of a starfish morph...
-
But seriously this is one thing i never could wrap my head around why most animorphs have different DNA and most of the time dint even try to have the same biological weapons the choose from. One member mentioned before that it would be easy for the yeerks to recognize the animals and get the hang of it who is the leader and so on, but there are many more reasons like sometimes when it is important to morph into an animal that you normally dont morph to but still would be positiv in this situation. And still they could have they're favourites and all but besides some very basic animals that they have all together I always wondered why they never try to broaden more on the same animals to distract the yeerks more -> very strategic
-
I don't think they could have discerned a leader from the morphs alone. I mean, they never thought-spoke outside of their group and since Ax always remained in his original form they were more likely to assume he was the leader.
But I get what you're saying. Rachel is the only one of the group to change battlemorphs and a range of morphs might have confused the Yeerks as to the number of "Andalite" bandits.
